All throughout my schooling time my curriculum was in Hindi which is my mother tongue that's why I could never get a good exposure to English language but now I know how important it is to learn this language.When I finished my school I learned some English grammar and sentence making on my own from different websites also by watching movies,TV shows and documentaries.The only problem is I can't talk correctly and I don't have any conversation practice since the place where I live no one speaks in English.I just need somebody who can talk to me and help in improving my conversation skills.

Hi! I'm so happy right now and I really wanted to share this with you! I was talking to a friend and she was talking to me about a lot of things so I obviously didn't do that much of the talking. I've only replied with short phrases every once in a while and LEMME TELL U! it's happened AGAIN. She told me that my English is very good. I'M SO HAPPY! THIS IS MY SECOND TIME TO GET PRAISED BY A NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER ABOUT MY ENGLISH. AND WHAT SURPRISED ME IS THAT SHE NOTICED IT BY ONLY A FEW SHORT PHRASES! never give up guys! Practice makes perfect! You'll eventually get there and you'll see your hard work paying off. Best wishes xxx

Hi! I have already said it, but I’ll say it again: you’re a great English coach and I wish I could speak with you. I’ve been studying English for the last six years now and I’ve been using Cambly for about three years. Talking with a native English speaker is the best way to improve both your pronunciation and listening skills. I used to spend only 15 minutes three times a week, but now I have 30 minutes five times a week.

Hi Stefanie! I’m from Rio de Janeiro, and when I started learning English (almost 15 years ago) I never had the chance to practice with a native speaker. However, I got a scholarship to study abroad (in Arizona) which totally gave me the chance to improve my English. I think there’s nothing like practicing with a native speaker, it’s definitely the best thing if you’re wanting to improve :) Anyway, thanks for always sharing great tips! 😊

@@hellenbarreto6750 indeed it is! I remember I got a deal of 50% off and then I used to take 2 class of 30m. On the first 3 months I saw the difference of unblocking my speaking. Ive been learning English by myself and then I invested in apps like Cambly. Sure thing it depends on your situation and your English level but it is a good investment. There is also "Preply" where you can get cheaper depending on the teacher.

Thank you stephanie for these gold nuggets. I'd like to share in this comment section some extra tips to really blow up your english and take it to the next level. Emulate an environment as if you're living in english country, meaning everything has to be in english. Don't procrastinate, because the moment you procrastinate you'll give power to those excuses jumbling in you brain, and it's gonna very hard to gain momentum, and take them away. Another tip that helped me to improve my fluency is everyday I'm talking with myself, in my room, my bathroom, so I can streghten my flency, and more importantly maintain it. Because if you don't do it the weeds will take the garden as Jim Rohn said the best motivational speaker in history of the US. The mindset is very important. You need to have a burning desire why you want english. If you don't have a goal you'll drift around easily when a challenge occurs, and at the end of the day you'll not be able to experience how great your english can be. I apolagize by those long paragraphs, but I felt really inspired to share the things that helped me to blow up my english that could do the same thing for you as well.
@HanemanHunters6 жыл бұрын
Preach it! In my classes I also focus on speaking. We start with a short grammar section targeting one specific grammatical issue and then move on to speaking. I have a great book: "Conversation inspirations" with over 2000 role plays, discussion topics etc. That's more than enough for years of teaching! I highly recommend it to EVERY private teacher. One thing I should take note of - stop interrupting people when they've made a mistake - I totally agree that it ruins the flow for them. I'll start making notes and address their mistakes after we're done talking. Thank you for this video!

I arranged a skype call with my friend a couple of months ago. I was expecting it to be an awesome experience because it was basically my first time talking to a native speaker from the United States and he was a good friend of mine. But the precise moment it started i got all clammed up and could not say a word. For one moment i thought what had happened to all that effort i put in my language skills? Well i justified it with the fact that I’m not a sociable person and I’m quite shy but that wasn’t the whole thing. You actually stated and mentioned almost all the flaws that i just realized i had while video chatting. Thank you and I love your channel!
@TheEnglishCoach6 жыл бұрын

I've been learning English since 2014 , and I got inetracted with many male & female teachers but there's something special when it comes to you , I don't know what , there's an arabic saying -islamic one actually- : "الأرواح جنود مجندة". It's literal meaning is "souls are nothing but solders" Wich means we don't have that much control of what we're attracted to. Much love , unique teacher. 🙏🏻

I took private classes until last year with a very good teacher. His classes were quite more expensive than the online ones but he really helped me to improve my communication. However, once we got more familiar with each other, he didn't let me talk the much I needed. There were days that I only could say "aham" during the whole class while he was trying to convince me that the Earth is flat and others bullshit Lol. Now I'm taking classes online but I'm still not confident, I hope it'll get better. Thank you for your tips, it totally makes sense!

I watched this video and I tried Cambly this morning. It was amazing. I don't have opportunities to talk with native speakers so Cambly's gonna be helpful if I can regularly talk with native speakers. I was so excited because the teacher said my pronounciation was good. That motivated me. Probably it's because I've been practicing the pronounciation with your videos and some American dramas. I'll try more trial lessons on Cambly and get a membership if I like it. Thank you for recommending a great app.

Yeah, really good points. I looked up their rates and they are phenomenal! If you book 30 minute classes 5 days a week and pay yearly, it works out to less than $10 an hour. That's insane! Obviously you can only do that, though, if you have a savings and money to invest in your education. I was a sales rep once for a national US tutoring company, and they charged $50+ an hour, easily! So, when I saw Cambly's rates I was really excited. Anyhow, since it's still too expensive for you, I recommend you download the free guide I linked in the description. It has helped THOUSANDS of students around the world connect with native English speakers online to practice their English :D Here it is: englishfulltime.com/free-guide

Hi Stephanie. Thanks for all the advice. They're really helpful. I usually apologize for my English at the beginning, because i feel very anxious every time i have to talk with a native. I will try to avoid it :) My husband an I enrolled a online course and we take classes every week with native teachers, but when there are more than five students, which is very common, the class is not worth it, because we only have the chance to speak no more than five minutes. And it's not a real conversation, it's only about answer questions and read and article or watch a video. I'm going to follow your advice and take private classes. Thanks a lot for all your work.

Yeah, private classes would probably be better. And if you’re interested, you can also learn about the courses I offer on my website EnglishFullTime.com 😉🙌🏼

I tried to enroll in your course, but I can't pay with Paypal. Maybe I should to try with the credit card. By the way, i'm trying to get the free class trough the link but the website said that i need a promo code or invite two more friends :(

Hmmm that's strange. Try the code TheEnglishCoach15 :D I hope you can join my online course later... but, yeah, unfortunately Paypal doesn't work for the monthly program.

Hi Stefanie!♡ I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your videos. They're light, informative and easy to follow. I am a non-native English speaker, however I think my English is pretty advanced. My plans are to do the C1 exam and I also want to do the TEFL or CELTA course in order to teach non-native speakers as well. What is your opinion about teachers who teach a language that is not their own? I really like the way you teach and I want to adapt your authenticity into my way of teaching. Keep making those videos! You motivate me to achieve my goals! Lots of love♡♡

Thanks so much for this lovely comment Sofia! Maybe I can make a video giving advice to teachers ❤️ I’ll add it to my list of video ideas. That said, I think the best teachers are humble, they share lots of interesting stories, and they collaborate with their students and have them do fun projects. 😁
