Dear English Coach {I think Stephany is your name} Yesterday I was watching your videos, and I was just delighted in so. Today woke up with the eager desire to listen to them as after having watched just three of them my English, which is pretty rusty leveled up inmediately. I'm originally from Chile, but live in Brazil currently. You're, in some way close to me as my mother tongue is Spanish and I lived for two years in Buenos Aires before moving to Brazil. Just would like to hugely thank you for your videos, as I read from a guy somewhere over here, "you have the gift of teaching". Once again thank you, congratulations for your work and needed to know the strenght of your pure desire has caused an enormous effect on me {English studying/come back to study it. Sorry for any mistake I may have commited here. I'm not using any translator, just the little English I learnt about 30 years ago at school. Hugs from the beautiful Brazil, Sachi

Those are the real ways to teach people how to speak english and listen to it according to how it really sounds in a daily speech with natives speaker, because when I was a school student there were some teachers who taught us just the Slow and standart pronunciation of each sentence or word but at the end of the day we don't listen to people speaking that slow and standart way while speaking fluently in normal speech. So thank you Stefanie

Almost Japanese who went to the US say ''the native speakers talked to me so fast that I could not understand them at all....I was very shocked......''. I really understand the feelings of Japanese who have the experiences like those by watching your this video. So your video is very rewarding. I think that many Japanese do not notice that their dairy conversations in Japan are different from Japanese presentations at jobs. It's the same phenomena that you talk to me in this video. This is interesting? Right? I like your videos. I wish you to keep the English coach at your pace!! (You know, I'm Japanese.)

Stephanie, I know that you try to make your speech more simple for us. Could you speak with us like with your friends in one of your videos? Could you make "fast speech challenge"? I am curious how well we will understand you if you will speak in a usual manner.

@emrebilgi6 жыл бұрын
Even if the coach isn't "trying to make it simple" for us here; I believe that since she's teaching, presenting here, intentionally or not, she's still making it easier to understand. Because no matter what; teaching, presenting makes everybody instinctively speak in a somewhat more formal, proper way. It's in its nature. This is in spite of the fact that she says she speaks slower in her daily life and when she presents she flows and goes faster. Maybe she indeed speaks slower in her daily life, but I still believe, instinctively or not, as she's presenting here, even if she's faster, she's subconsciously still reducing, combining words less here which is making it easier for us to understand her. Do you agree, coach?

Hi Stefanie, I love this channel, Every time i drive my car alone, I use to practice shadowing with a lot of videos i download from youtube, most of them, are of motivational speakers like Tony Robbins, o sales coaches like Tom Ferry, but shadowing you with this video for the first time, was awesome and very very confortable to do it. For those of us who practice shadowing all the time that we can, we need extended videos, my favorites are those over 15 minutes like this one. Thanks and continue with your videos please,

@akosfellner50616 жыл бұрын
The English Coach Dear. You forget, that a language is not a simple endogen system. The language shift and language change is not simple endogenous process. See that William Labov says in this topic. Better to do adapt? (Maybe does, maybe does not.) It is a little cynicism from you. A lot of survey shows that a lot of native NorthA. speaker doesnt know well the English grammar. We (with the English as second language) must to adapt to such speakers who does not know their own mother language? You opinion tells from the background: "hey, shut up. I own USD, the most powerful army all over the world. Im speaking, and you must adapt." You has an Emperor view of a language usage. Its named as language-colonism.
@Cuticatie6 жыл бұрын
I agree that language is undergoing evolution no matter how small it is. I also support newly-made words! (vocabulary enrichment guys), especially words to spice up our conversation in daily life. .@Akos Feliner Are you a learner of English of Second Language? I see a lot of (to-infinitives errors such as: must to adapt to ...). For speaking, I don't really care about grammar, as long as it doesn't create misunderstanding on my part or my speaking partner. However, for written language, I think you should adhere to the rules of at least good grammar, especially in formal or academic setting. For this century, modern English will suffice, I don't know maybe a thousand year from now, will English be the same by then? (like Old English has become antediluvian).

I "prolly" won't say prob-a-bly again in fast speech. But maybe it's good for learners to know how the words actually are pronounced correctly, because i think they're gonna be helpful when we're traying to be more clear in a conversation, isn't it?!
@TheEnglishCoach7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you're right, Emanoel. Maybe I should mention this in my next video. I would say "prolly" in fast, conversational speech... but I wouldn't say it in a formal situation (like if I were giving a speech), unless it was part of an anecdote. Anyhow, yeah... it's good to know the many ways words can be pronounced.

As has been mentioned before, I'm a native English speaker, but I love these videos! It is kind of funny how we choose what to spell out and not. Very often I see "lemme go" "Wanna go?" as opposed to "Let me go" or "Want to go", but yeah, "especially" is spelled out. So many things simply aren't taught to us in a broken-down manner. We just pick it up as we go, and that's how it is. I had to pause at the, "Do you want water, or tea..." moment just to add my two cents (there's another idiom for ya
