Skyrim is a very magical place. Indeed, The Elder Scrolls 5 is a game absolutely loaded with various magical spells, shouts and powers for the Dragonborn to embrace (or see embraced against them). While many of Skyrim's magical powers are fairly simple, familiar arcane abilities such as flame magic or ice walls; Skyrim also offers a small host of hidden, particularly unique spells that require a bit of extra work to uncover. (Potentially a similar process as to when you make a potion, but I could buy that just being you squeezing out whatever blood was still in the heart.)

About Polymorph Skeever, there's some remnants of where it was supposed to be used in Riften. The prison even still has an interactable skeever-sized grate you can open, next to the Prisoner Belongings Chest, that happens to lead to an alternate way out of the prison. There are similar grates in various other places in a few cities, but I only know of the one in the prison actually being useable.

It would have been such a cool mission. Just for the new feature... Think of the mods. Entire mazes and boss fights. Skeever vs giant mudcrab or skeever vs sickly wolf. Maybe even a mudcrab mod. You go around picking moss off rocks and harrasing literally anything that moves that doesn't have claws. Eating random coins and junk occasionally. You get to pinch things. And- You get to use a new shout- so, yes. You can be a Dohvacrab. But, it's just you making slightly louder crab noises at things. Before yet more pinching.

It would have been interesting if there was say a manor you'd have to get in steal/buttbuttinate someone, and there was a choise either to go through guards or sneak through small cap, if you could turn to skeever. Maybe have voice acting option for the emperor if you appear in front of him in skeever form. The possibilities.

I believe one of the dev's that continued on to skyrim together/ beyond skyrim projects actually comments on how it was supposed to be a way of bypassing the lunatic in the meadery, but, failing to explain where he goes after the quest is completed, I believe the idea was abandoned. I think the spell was left simply to avoid code breaking any "turning point" decisions.

5:50 When the argonian approaches you on the docks she is distraught by the memories of the Dwemer that the lexicon gives her. We can infer from her dialogue and the content of the quest that the lexicon was used to store the very memories and experiences of the Dwemer as both a tool to share knowledge with each other and perhaps for safekeeping. The way this works isn't fully explained, but it seems like whoever is holding on to the lexicon is actively interacting with it, both adding their own memories to it and receiving memories from it. In the ruin we are seeing the argonian's memories thanks to the cube, which stored her memories after she had escaped with it.

@David Abdollahi I really dislike that quest. I find it so annoying to do, but to be fair, I find all dwarven ruins irritating. But this one makes it super hard for me to just sneak fast enemies since the npcs automatically detect you. Or if they don't their dialog might not even activate and you can't go anywhere else unless they finish whining.

@@kongk5772 Originally, it buffed all armors(heavy and light) by 25% and improved your tempering by 15%(not the rate at which you level up Smithing). Bethesda attempted to patch the effect so it does what it says it does, but only managed to make it so that dwarven armor was no longer affected(so now all armors get a 25% boost EXCEPT dwarven). Good one, Bethesda. If you have the Unofficial Patch installed, then Ancient Knowledge does what it says. I play on PC ,but I don't use mods. Despite the fact the Unofficial Patch fixes many bugs Bethesda never got around to fixing, I don't play with that either. I know how to either avoid a lot of bugs, or ways to fix them(either using available game mechanics like reloading a save, or by using the developer's console). Since the original effects of the quest reward are actually better than what it says it does, I prefer it to any changes.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the Polymorph Skeever spell was a spell that you would have eventually been able to acquire from Brelyna Maryon from the college. Only reason I say that is because in the quest to raise her disposition she ends up polymorphing you into tons of different creatures in hopes of perfecting _some_ kind of spell.

isthisoneunavailable 4 months late on this but it’s probably because it functions the same way as a destruction spell. The identity of conjuration magic is to deal INDIRECT damage. So you summon a sword and then you swing it, or you summon an fire lady to attack your foes. The spectral arrow deals DIRECT damage, this is the same as all destruction spells. Basically, it doesn’t fit the consistency of the game as a whole Edit: who knows though, maybe in tes6 they will make things that take from multiple skill trees. Maybe you need conjuration and destruction to cast it, then archery to grant attack bonuses to it, then sneak to make it silent cast and deal extra damage to unaware enemies.

For what it's worth, I think those "ghosts" aren't ghosts but rather echoes of what happened, notice how they're orange and every spirit in the game is blue? I'm guessing they might even be from the Lexicon itself. Also the Thief stone doesn't have a power, it's an XP boost to stealth skills, like lockpicking. The Tower stone is the one with the power that lets you open locks.

There are numerous errors in the video. It's clear the video creator doesn't have much in-depth knowledge with Skyrim, I mean he literally says the quest Unfathomable depths rewards "XP"... you don't get XP from quests in Skyrim. Also the buff you get from that quest isn't actually limited to Dwarven armor but any armor you wear (even if it says it only works on Dwarven)

And seeing as how you don't understand how Skyrim works, you get XP towards a skill, like giving a book to the Orc smith in Markarth who gives you XP in Smithing. The quest he mentions in the video literally gives you XP in a way via "Ancient Knowledge". I quote: "Knowledge gained from the Lexicon gives you a 25% bonus when wearing Dwarven Armor and Blacksmithing increases 15% faster." It can also increase your heavy armor on completion, albeit rarely. I think it's dependent on your HA level at the end.

No actual XP bonus. The effect works as the tooltip states only with the unofficial patch installed This is precisely what I meant: surface level information without bothering to check if the thing actually works as the game says it does. This bug is well known within the community (almost every single "min-maxed" build suggestion mentions it), if he "has played the game since release" and "knows more than the likes of me", he should be aware of it

You can find remnants of level design for the skeever spell. Crawl spaces to others areas only skeevers can get to. Typically you find them very early game. Like in the main quest. It's really cool to see that it was being built but was cut

The Aetherium Crown + The Ritual Stone is especially powerful since when you revive the dead with it, after their timer of being resurrected runs out, they don't turn into dust like normal resurrection spells. So you can re-resurrect corpses which allows you to essentially lead your own army into battle that you can resurrect at will. Plus it helps with battles with multiple enemies as every slain enemy is another soldier to your undead army.

Actually, for the Dwarven Knowledge effect, it boosts all armour except for dwarven by 25%, making it way more useful than you’d imagine, even if it is due to an oversight. I do believe that this was fixed by the unofficial patch IIRC.

Stay up for 24 hours, so you can fall asleep at any time, you only have to do this once Fall asleep anywhere between 4-6 pm Wake up at 2-3, and it’s easy to stay up, you get to do whatever you really want, and instead of fighting the alarm every morning you wake up naturally very early, and get free time prior to work/school, you also have a much bigger time frame to get ready Now granted towards the end of the day you will be exhausted, for me that’s 2-3, just gotta stay up an hour or so and you’re golden As for food problems, if you have parents then eat leftovers when you wake up for breakfast, if you’re alone you can easily make yourself something

The ancient knowledge is bugged multiple different ways depending on which version of Skyrim you're running. The smithing skill learning doesn't speed up by 15%. Instead you get a permanent +15 to you smithing skill, which persists even after you hit 100, meaning you can have 115 skill level in smithing. In versions below 1.9.26.0.8, the 25% armor bonus is applied to all armor. In versions over and including 1.9.26.0.8, the 25% armor bonus is applied to all armor EXCEPT Dwarven armor, because genius Bethesda devs, used poor logic whle trying to "fix" the bug.

@@lordtalosgaming1448 This is a bug I like. Don't really care about Dwarven armor(very heavy, fairly low base armor rating) but love the boost to all other armors and the boost to tempering. It doesn't actually raise your skill by 15 points(if it did, you would see 115 skill when sitting at a workbench or grinding wheel after having maxed out the skill). It does in fact improve the bonuses to armor rating and weapon damage added via tempering by 15%(so 1.15x the combo of skill, perks, Fortify Smithing potions and enchantments, as well as the Seeker of Might effect available in black book Sallow Regent). And any version of the Unofficial Patch(Legendary Edition, Special Edition, probably an Anniversary Edition too, idk) wrecks this otherwise really great quest reward and turns it into something that's only really beneficial early on in a player's run through the game.

Easily missed, but if you complete a quest found in the Frostflow lighthouse location in the Pale and return the remains of a man to a fire in the lighthouse you get the Sailor's Repose active effect which improves healing spells by 10 percent.

I've thought about the Ancient Knowledge thing for a long time, and the only conclusion I was able to come to was that it gave the dragonborn knowledge of tonal smithing. Armor just doesn't become more effetive because of knowlege, but forging does. The dragonborn must have been gifted with the smithing knowledge of whole generations of dwemer, and thus became the first tonal smith in millenia. The armor doesn't just have better stats, it is better.

10:55 Note, the stone Nate describes is the Tower stone, that is the one that opens Expert or lower locks once a day. The Thief stone is one of the three Guardian stones, this one in particular increasing the speed at which your thief skills level up (those being all of the skills in between Light armor and Illusion)

During the from deepest depths quest, it isn't ghosts you are seeing in the dwemer ruin, it is the memory the lexicon is "imprinting" on you while in the ruin. It's similar to the last quest of the mages guild, where you see the magical energy/memory of Savos and the others. It's not the ghosts that you see exactly, it's the memory of the souls passing through the area as the dragonborn goes though them.

And if it was just limited to dwemer armor, it would be obsolete because you can get a armor rating of 180 with stoneflesh and the mage armor 3/3 perk. 200 if you use ironflesh with the same perk

It’s hit or miss. It supposed to proc with Dwarven armor, but sometimes it just fails to. The Unofficial Skyrim Patch foxes this.

@@D_3_3 Bethesda tried to "fix" it in basically the final 1.9 patch of the original game, but only succeeded in making Dwarven Armor no longer get the 25% buff everything else gets. Also, by default, it doesn't increase you Smithing XP gain by 15%. Instead, it buffs tempering of armor and weapons by 15% which does help you level up the skill faster but not by 15%. Any Unofficial Patch(Legendary Edition version, Special Edition version, maybe even an Anniversary Edition version, idk) will make Ancient Knowledge do what it says in the description instead which kinda sucks. What was once permanently useful becomes something only really useful early on in a player's run through the game.

I think the skeever thing was meant to be some sort of quest where you enter a cave, find a tunnel only big enough for a skeever to fit through, learn the spell, and once completed you get turned back somehow.

Sailor's Repose is from the Frostflow Abyss dungeon, a family horror story found in a Lighthouse, and performing an act of cleansing... Mother's/Father's Love is obtained from the Hearthfire DLC, just sleep in a custom home, with adopted children, without being a Werewolf...

The crown is pretty OP yeah, me and some others were talking about it in the comments of the previous video, I mentioned that I usually use it to get the Lord Stone and Atronach Stone at the same time which gives you a massive defense boost. Someone replied stating that if you combined those two stones with some alteration perks and Miraaks set then you'd be completely immune to magic and dragon breaths, I also followed this up by mentioning that the orc's day power added onto all that would turn your character into a tank since you'd also increase your physical defense thanks to the Lord Stone and orc day power all the while dealing double damage because of the orc's day power

My favorite "secret magic" was abusing Restoration and Alchemy loopholes to make broken enchantments like "-2.076e99 carry weight" onto something stupid like a ring, and then being able to carry infinite weight. Does that count? 😂 Before you call me a noob or a cheater, I saved those exploits until endgame, and I only created them as sort of "Legendary Gear" mainly for my own head canon reasons. I loved the fact that Altair's armor was the strongest set in AC2 coupled with the sidequest journey Ezio took in order to acquire it. In my mind; someday in the future our player character's time in Tamriel will be over and a new hero will rise to the occasion. I like the idea that someday, maybe a new protagonist will stumble across Dovahkiin's old gear, truly epic garments, jewelry, and armor adorned with the kind of magic that would make a Daedric Priest blush. Plus it was fun to have infinite health and infinite unarmed damage bound to a pair of gloves, just bum rushing the mightiest of dragons and putting them down with no more than one gloved strike.
