Actually Kamehameha is weaker than Kikoho, Galick Gun, Makankosappo and Final Flash. It's been stated by Master Roshi that Kikoho is deadlier than Kamehameha. The only reason we think it's strong is because Goku used it and of course plot hole. Also Goku win against Vegeta in Saiyan saga is only because of Kaioken.

Makankosappo doesn't make a good area-of-effect attack unless you catch your enemies in a straight line. Kamehameha wave is good against groups of enemies in any position as long as they're close to the ground zero.

I don't know if it's coming out of left field and correct me if I'm wrong but I've never seen a 10x or 100x special beam Cannon so that raises the question .can the power of the Makankasoppo multiply power like the Kamehameha because that is an attribute of the turtle destruction wave that I feel like would make it Superior. I agree with what quaaman said near the end. The main factor in determining which one is stronger, or at the very least which one is more likely to kill the opponent, is who you're fighting. If you're fighting someone who has regeneration(like cell and buu) or even someone like frieza(who can survive being cut in half/being in dozens of pieces and still be alive), you won't/can't kill them with the special beam cannon. It's debatable if you can kill frieza with it, but cell or buu? No. That's not happening. You have to use an attack that completely engulfs their entire body. But anyone else who doesn't have regeneration or is someone like frieza, the special beam cannon is the better method. Because for some reason, when the kamehameha is used against someone who doesn't have regeneration, it acts as if it just causes blunt force trauma to someone(no one ever loses an arm or a leg to the kamehameha if they don't have regeneration), but when used against someone that has regeneration, it will usually take a limb off, or go right through them or explode them. Sorry that was so long. I just love dragon ball, and I don't get to talk about it with anyone very often.

That is mainly because characters with regeneration will usually have less durable bodies _because_ of their regeneration. I mean, the obvious answer is that Toriyama doesn't want to have an enemy be instakilled outright by a random Kamehameha, but it does make sense in lore. Characters like Buu and Zamasu are shown to be less durable to the point where attacks from far weaker opponents can disrupt their bodies, while enemies like Vegeta and Frieza use more ki/energy/whatever to protect their bodies from the blast since having a limb blown off will be highly detrimental if not outright fatal. A couple of factors, like the difference between the user and the target's powers or the user's killing intent(like how Goku's Kamehameha didn't wound Piccolo, but did blow off Cell's upper body), also help in determining if the Kamehameha can properly injure them or not.

Each technique is made with a different outcome in mind. The Special Beam Cannon is like a Chidori, made for assassinations, It's very precise and pretty much impossible to block, like a sniper rifle. Kamehameha is more like the Rasengan, made to overpower the opponent through raw power, It will stun your enemy and throw him away or simply disintegrate the target if the user keeps feeding the blast. Rather than ask which is stronger you should ask wich type of enemy you are facing at the moment, the answer may differ according to the foe.

The special beam cannon is a technique that can kill by piercing through the opponent, while the kamehameha wave is a technique that can kill either with concussive force or by vaporizing the opponent. Both techniques have advantages and disadvantages over each other when it comes to how deadly they are, but I think the kamehameha wave might be deadlier, though I might be biased.

Special Beam Cannon is more powerful because of the “type” of move it is and how destructive it is to the physical body, but really in a way you can’t compare the two (apples and oranges) it’s like the destructo disc. Particular moves in the DB Universe can pretty much hurt any opponent EVEN IF your opponent is stronger. For example, Piccolo was a MUCH weaker opponent than Raditz but the SBC was powerful enough to penetrate and pierce a hole into TWO powerful Saiyans at the same time without loosing its power and instantly killing them that’s saying a lot. Another example the destructo disc Vegeta and Nappa were the most powerful Saiyans in the galaxy at the time and when a low level fighter like Krillin shoots a Destructo disc at Nappa (someone several times more powerful) it made Vegeta the prince himself yell in terror to Nappa to tell him DONT TOUCH IT! So when the blade touched him on his cheek because of him barely getting out of the way it made him bleed so Vegeta was right. I would even put Guildo’s mind/time freeze move up there as an all powerful move because once your caught in it you can’t move idc how powerful you are and Ginyu’s body change Ginyu was clearly the weaker opponent but Goku still managed to get bested by Ginyu’s body change move. So in conclusion you would have to compare the Kamehameha to another beam like move like Vegetas Galick Gun or Maseko because that’s strictly dealing with might and raw power. I hope this cleared up some stuff for you guys LoL.

The only diffrence between the beams are the firing pose, beam color, and raw power put into it. If Vegeta felt like it, he could make the Galick Gun equivalent to the Final Flash and Vice Versa, these attacks are ubiquitous. It makes more sense to compare "big beam" and "thin beam" attack types instead.

There was a scene in the Plan to eradicate the Saiyans (the old one where you can have multiple endings), where Slug clashed his Energy wave with Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon. It was in all senses a beam clash, and in the end Piccolo won cause he was stronger. So I defenetly think the Special Beam Cannon move wouldn't pierce the Kamehameha(if it is powerful enough), and start a beam clash with it.

I'd choose Kamehameha purely, because it can kill anyone(granted you're strong enough), while the Special Beam Cannon can't. Quaman said it perfectly. We've also seen the Kamehameha expand, so it'd stand to reason that it could also compress(wouldn't drill, but it would focus on a smaller area), but that's just purely my head cannon.

Ok so before watching the video I'll say this: if the users of the techniques are at a similar/same power level, and the 5 minute charge for special beam cannon isn't being used, then piccolo has it in the bag. A piercing beam is more useful in more situations.most races (except the likes of mankind who can regenerate) would be more injured from a hole in them than a large more spread out force (assuming enemy are of a similar level too of course) Ok so half way through: I feel a lot of later examples from the show aren't fair as Goku/ Gohan are such a higher power level and so much closer in power to their enemies, that you can't compare what their kamehameha does to what Piccolo's Makankospo (hope I spelled it right) does. Again I feel against certain opponents, the kamehameha does have advantage's, wider beam covers more area and against regenerating foes seems to be able to do more damage (though this could again be due to power level discrepancies)

Depends if it's a close fight mankankosampo but if it's against a majin buu Kamehameha. The Kamehameha is a destructive energy wave ment to obliterate and wipe you out on a cellular level but it has levels to it.the mankankosampo is a piercing spiraling attack that attacks at least 2 different types of durability but sacrifices attack range for attack potency. So to me it's more of a question of preference and matchup. But what if beerus hit Majin Buu with a mankankosampo think it would probably kill because of the strength difference.

I think both are equally important. The Special Beam Cannon can be charged and loaded with more energy like Kamehameha. The Special Beam cannon needs one hand and Kamehameha needs 2 hands. In case of destruction Kamehameha is better because Kamehameha is very big and it's energy is not compressed. While Special Beam Cannon is a compressed energy that can be only used to pierce a specific point like the chest of radditz and Goku. It's like a 4th State of matter called Plasma which can even Pierce and cut metal as it was able to pierce the armour of Radditz.

I believe it's all about surface area and pressure. Like a waterjet cutter compared to a fire hose; if given the same amount of water the cutter is immensely faster and can cut through metal effortlessly, while the fire hose could even be dodged if you have some time to become aware it's coming and might blast you away but may or may not even break bones directly. I meant for the target in the above hypothetical situation to be a trained a martial artist since this is all made in reference to the Dragon Ball universe.

Its really like a large hammer vs a sword or drill debate. Would depend on the enemy or situation. Against most opponents, a piercing blow would be more deadly than a less focused attack, but when facing fighters like Buu and Cell that need to be completely obliterated, you'd need that over a focused attack.

I think Qaaman hit the nail on the head at the end. SBC is a better focused move for puncturing enemies, but Kamehamega is a better move for total obliteration, which was a lot more useful starting in the Cell saga, when every major bad guy had crazy regeneration.

As previously mentioned in a TG video, Piccolo developed Special Beam Cannon solely to kill Goku. He killed Goku AND Raditz with it, and could have killed the two U6 Namekians with it if not for TOP rules and their healing factor. The Kamehameha, on the other hand, has rarely been a finishing attack, used more as a pushing technique in beam struggles. That said, Roshi blew up the moon with it (which would have realistically threatened the tidal and gravitational balance of the Earth, killing billions), Krillin killed four (?) Saibamen with it, Goku decapitated Cell with it, Gohan VAPORIZED Cell with it single-handed, and in Broly 2, Goku, Gohan, and Goten killed Broly with a team-up version. So while Piccolo's move is deadlier by design, the Kamehameha has more users, more uses, and more kills to its credit. The Turtle Wave takes this one.

One minor thought: I don't think Raditz could block the beam, simply because he dodged it instead when he could and took the injury to his shoulder. The beam canon is more of a precise hit to damage one spot (probably really large spot given the power increase by now), while the Kamehameha is to wipe out an entire enemy's body, or an entire planet (solar system, etc.).

The Kamehameha from early Dragon Ball has been said to have a kind of dial. From extinguishing flames with no harm to anything else, or to completely obliterating someone. I believe if someone of equal strength were to fire the two techniques at each other they would both die. How I would explain, set the 2 at an equal distance and fire, like you said Geekdom, the Special Beam Cannon would pierce the Kamehameha wave, but it wouldn't necessarily stop the wave, I think the wave would keep going until it hits the opponent getting rid of head and other limbs and the Special Beam Cannon would pierce the other through the chest.

I think you also forget than even with the same power levels the kamehameha wasnt shown to be deadly when Radditz came because Goku knew that if you put too much power in it you could blow up the earth. If you recall the episode were Cell use it against Goku he said "you cant put that much energy into the technique or it will blow up the earth" meaning the one he fired against Radditz wasnt with his full power. It also depends on how well both fighters can perform the techinque and know about it, because even thought the Kameahameha looks like a wide technique you can actually focus it to be narrow even though its still wider compare to the Makankosappo. I say the Kamehameha wins becuase its faster to execute and in combat time you waste charging or thinking about your next move you lose.

Remember near the end of Resurrection F when Goku let his guard down and he was shot by the laser from Sorbet, I think the Special Beam Cannon can be used that way no matter how strong a character is, leaving out of course the Angels and the Grand Priest.

I’ve always thought of the special beam cannon as a finishing technique. While the Kamehameha has many tools, and most aren’t finishing someone off. The special beam cannon was used perfectly against raditz. It’s for when you can’t win and you have no other option. So it’s the special beam cannon. To me.

I still believe special beam cannon is deadlest attack (maybe in some situations the kamehameha can beat special beam cannon especially on regenerating enemies like buu and cell as you two were saying) as you said it's the drill shape and how it's shot that should kill you normally when it touches you plus we know piccolo designed it to kill goku all the more reason for this to be a deadly move more dangerous than kamehama

if i had to guess it would be the special beam cannon, given being designed primarily for lethal force, the piercing power, and that much like the kamehameha wave it seems to have a variable charge time depending how much power and damage u want to output

I’d say pretty much all ki blasts are the same essentially. It would make sense that the kamehameha/galic gun could be condensed into a more narrow and concentrated beam if they desired to do so. And that the special beam cannon/other people’s “death rays” could be expanded into a larger less condensed beam. It’s all just ki

They're both good: the Kamehameha can outright obliterate the target (if used with enough power), the Special Beam Cannon on the other hand is moreso a piercing move that can drill through targets (like Raditz).

My opinion is irrelevant since you covered most of my thoughts. That said if you are fighting something the size of Hirudegarn or an Oozaru SBC is worthless since its a tiny pinprick. They are not gonna notice. SBC might be better at killing per square unit of ki, but Kamehameha is obviously the better weapon. Versatility, speed, can be controlled, easy to learn (hard to master tho). If you can only pick one, pick kamehameha.

Is there a technique guide on the cloning move? Just realized we have seen Tien do it in the 43rd tournament, Piccolo did his own version while training to fight Vegeta and Nappa and then the Yardrats know a version. We have seen a few other versions as well, any connection or do you think they are all unique in some way?

Under normal circumstances, the special beam cannon is more deadly since it focuses a large amount of energy on a small surface area; and spinning it like a drill on top of that would no doubt add to its piercing power.

The Special Beam Cannon is a piercing finishing attack. Yes you can widen it like a kamehameha but it's still 2 beams. 1 pierces as the other helps it drills through.

Taking it one step further, it also depends on who the attack is aimed at! Had ss2 gohan had a special beam cannon and shot it at cell, cell would've been hit and regenerated. Basically if the technique is to blast you to dust kamehameha. But if you're fighting someone with regeneration, special beam cannon is virtually useless compared to the kamehameha

@Geekdom101 Don’t forget, for a period of time Cell was literally the strongest being in the universe and could use both moves. But when SS2 Gohan became a threat, Cell chose the Kamehameha not the SBC to try and kill him. Gohan can’t regenerate like Buu and Cell doesn’t have to charge the SBC forever to use it and he STILL picked the Kamehameha for the finishing blow. There’s a reason for that. It’s gotta be big blue lol 💯

@Irfan Alddin Yes, in original Z anime, Cell in desperation used a variety of familiar techniques of the Z Fighters including the Destructo Disk(Kienzan) and the Special Beam Cannon before finally firing a gargantuan Kamehameha. Buutenks used it in his fight with Ultimate Gohan. These were both anime only scenes, so if you've only read the manga, you may be unfamiliar with the events.

4:06 the thing about this part Goku's Kamehame was fired after Goku's power went to 620 or 650 idk which it was in the anime, so Radiz block that. Piccolo's was way higher, so He couldnt block that and had to move out the way.

I would go with the kamehameha for more ways to use it as in it gives you more options in a fight. Then the special beam cannon for a move to end a fight if you have a means of killing someone. Kind of like the destructo disc in a way.

Exactly. The Kamehameha works on everyone, while the SBC is extremely circumstantial in effect. People mistake Kamehameha users lack of killing intent as the reason it isnt lethal, when in fact it completely atomizes when it is done with killing intent instead of the usual blunt force.

Imagine two beings of equal strength, they both spend 100% of their total energy on their one attack. One does the kamehameha and one does the special beam cannon. The special beam cannon *compresses* all that energy into a smaller space, so at any point of special beam cannon, the energy there is *denser* than any point of a kamehameha. Making the energy more dense will allow you to essentially pierce an opponent significantly stronger than you. If you imagine a special beam cannon beam is 10x smaller than a kamehameha beam, that means there is 10x more energy packed into a smaller space, so its almost like a kamehameha that was fired by an opponent who is 10x smaller but 10x stronger too. Pressure is mass/area, so essentially to get the highest possible pressure (to pierce a hole in someone's chest), you would want to put the highest possible mass in the smallest possible area (like a very heavy needle, or the special beam cannon) The Kamehameha would still has the same amount of energy as the special beam cannon but it is just fired over a wider area, making it harder to dodge (useful for faster opponents), and could (against regenerative opponents) possibly vaporize more of their cells/atoms.

I don't know what i did to offend you so much... you'd think i had said something about your family but no i was just spreading an opinion, and trying to liken dragon ball techniques to real life physics and mathematics. Goku was approximately 2% stronger when they fought against Raditz (Goku was 416 piccolo was 408) so thats a pretty irrelevant gap in power. Goku didn't get to charge the Kamehameha for anywhere near an equal amount of time to how long piccolo charged the special beam cannon, AND he wasn't spending his entire energy pool on it, AND raditz blocked the kamehameha while he took the special beam cannon to the chest while goku held him in a full nelson, AND the special beam cannon was after he had been worn down by everyone including Gohan's enraged headbutt, which was stated in manga Vol. 17, #203 to have raised Gohan's power level to over 1300, only 200 away from Raditz' own power level. Basically, you can't compare the Kamehameha to the Special Beam Cannon based on what they did in the Raditz saga lol. One technique can't just be inherently stronger than another, a character, has a certain amount of energy, that they spend manipulating into many forms of attack, to suit many types of situations. If goku put 100% of his energy into a dragon fist, it would be equally as strong as if goku put 100% of his energy into a kamehameha (assuming all the energy was spent 100% efficiently both times and none of the energy from the attack missed).

Special beam cannon seems way more dangerous, But has the downside of a charge time. and sucks for characters that can regenerate as mentioned. Kamehameha is more useful for general use because it seems you can charge before or during to amp up the power of it. Better utility.
