I just completed Quantum Break, my first and probably only Remedy title, and it really is the Netflix Original Movie of games: you’ll get through it to pass the time and then immediately forget it because you’ve seen everything in it done better in other games, movies, TV shows, books, etc. Hilarious that there was talk at the time of making Quantum Break a key Xbox franchise on the level of Halo or Gears of War.

I think the live action series parts as well as the gameplay actually make this a surprisingly fun experience when playing this with friends! It's like watching Netflix together but then also getting to shoot video game goons with big machine guns. Also discussions on which story path to take can be really engaging. Can absolutely recommend making this game a group experience, even if it doesn't seem like it at first glance

Xbox/PS4 is a platform because of a closed market place and games relevant to that market. If you buy something to do with the brand, it directly benefits the market owner. PC has multiple manufacturers, multiple game markets and multiple configurations. No single company benefits from a PC gamer which is why it's kept competitive. I get what your meaning is, platform being the thing you play on, but it's far more than that. Markets and game distribution has more to do with platform. Plus consoles use PC hardware from 7 years ago so by THAT logic, they're not a platform at all, they're just a company.

I like the idea of games and tv integrating into each other, having events in the game influence the outcome of a tv show released at the same time. Defiance was a decent attempt even though the whole thing fell apart 2 seasons into the show. I just wish that shows outside of serious drama shows would use this idea. Imagine a game based around a mercenary guild or army that has gameplay missions that influence the tv show. That would be pretty cool to know that you had some influence in the events of a show.

Destiny, for example, is ripe for this - they'd just have to turn their pages of online text into 15-minute TV episodes on a channel like Adult Swim. The game would influence people to watch the show for story and back-story, and the show would influence viewers to play the game more, especially if they make main characters (e.g. the Taken King) appear really cool and interesting. In a similar vein, imagine a "Last of Us" TV show that went into more detail about how the world fell apart, especially since the game is set a decent ways into the apocalypse. It could follow the same main characters, but it would give way more context to the characters and the world than any set of introductory cutscenes could. (It could even be like the new "Fear the Walking Dead", nd follow an entirely different cast while still offering action and contextualizing later events.)

+Masdaw Galshini well you are in the minority, video game plots and tv plots dont work better simply because video games (typically) have to stay with the one character and have a time skip (pun not intended) when there is a lull or a calm however tv shows to remain entertaining can follow the "meanwhile back at the ranch" rule in which they skip to a separate character or narrative when a climax or point of tension peaks or reaches a low point to keep it entertaining, trying to combine such different methods of story telling ends up being either very forced for the show or boring for the game.

+BoySamusMetroid Not everyone notices it. I would have completely agree with Yahtzee because I completely see all the unnatural movements in the hyper realistic faces. I'm currently playing uncharted 4 and I get the same uncanny valley feeling from it as well.

In terms of exclusivity, Quantum Break is being sold as an Xbox One exclusive (it says it right on the box). It's on Windows 10, but that's because Microsoft is taking great pains to make all Xbox exclusives playable on Windows 10 (that whole integrated ecosystem stuff). So he's not *wrong* for saying it's Xbone exclusive, he's just not fully right.

Because everyone wants Microsofts Windows 10 shit. The only games on the "Store" are just ported phone games. Some work better than others, but other than a control swap, it's the exact, same games as the phone version. (Yes, i know that there's big name titles such as GoW, but you remember Steam, right?)

I don't get exclusives either. Sort of. I get not porting to PC, because you have to make keyboard controls(let's pretend that's actually difficult) but other than that, it makes no sense. Although that may be me being salty about how I'm soon going to have to drop $350 just to be able to play Nioh.
