Interesting how they transform into a type of bird they previously found repulsive, it makes me imagine a lot of them are "ugly" types of birds like vultures or turkeys, or perhaps birds that are often considered pests/nuisances like pigeons or seagulls. There might also be good number who became birds infamous for their aggression towards humans, like geese, roosters, or Australian magpies, etc.; I'm imagining a wandsman who grew up on a farm and was terrified of the family rooster, only to end up turning into one as a direct result of their trauma.

I wanna make a SCP that will occasionally pop up and just solve whatever problem the foundation is having, no matter the scale or what the threat is. I’m not super knowledgeable on SCP cannon, but since my SCP is literally just the concept of someone dropping out of know where, solves the problem then leaves with no explanation, only answering the occasional question with some cryptic answer that only confuses everyone more. It’s not like it’s a savior of humanity in its darkest hour, usually it will just show up and slap the wrist of whatever foundation member is about to make an ethical decision so dumb it creates a really obvious problem. I just find the idea of chaotic neutral SCPs that kinda just do shit and no one knows why

The role of the canary is a nice touch. Back in the day Cole miners used to keep one in its cage with them down in the mines. If there was a buildup of carbon monoxide or something, it would kill the canary before it was overwhelming enough to kill the miners, telling them it was time to get out. I like the plasticity of the concept and the fact that they can become a spin-off universe in a way. It has lots of space for creative licensing and can utilize a variety of different styles. While SCP is almost always a dry document with rare exceptions of logs and such, wandsmen prioritize stories in any written form, I feel. It can be very personalized depending on the author or the Author.

I'm re-watching this because I'm planning on having a Wandsmen character in a Pathfinder campaign I'm making and I want to make sure I get it right.
This was a fantastic one! I already knew a little about the Wandsmen, but this was a great in-depth look. Thanks as usual for an excellent video. Also, I have a request: I was recently looking through random SCPs, and came upon SCP-6996, which is the color red itself. It's a fascinating look at how red is used as a symbol in so many works (SCPs and also has implications for other things too). I'd love if you would cover this SCP! It's really wild that a color itself is used as an SCP.

Wonderful narration! I depend partly on the auto captions, and they work so well for you. Likewise, the art is wonderful.

so, basically a multiverse version of the AP and made up of different breeds of birds? This actually makes so much sense for some reason. Love the channel.

It says that new wandsmen take form of a bird they previously found repulsive, but what happens if you don't find any birds repulsive? Do you transom into a bird that'd your least favorite?

They mentioned raptors, so maybe some turn into birds they fear or are wary of?

Probably just any bird you had a disliking of, whether it be because you find it ugly, scary, or just unlikeable

It's clearly talking about the avian form As a whole as being repulsive. Because they aren't human anymore. Seems pretty silly to assume every being in existence had a bird breed they find icky.

Hey Exploring Series, I've been enjoying all the readings from you so far, I'm here with a request, SCP-6765 "The Demon Ogier and the Bleeding Throne of Malidraug" which is the latest work for the Kaktusverse, I'm wondering if you can cover it as well? Since the entire Kaktusverse is so huge and complex, I wish you can explain it more in lay men's term like you always do, thank you!

now, when you say you become a repulsive bird, does that mean, say, if you found shoebills particularly ugly in your human life, you would become a shoebill as a wandsman?
@undeadprinceofchaos37312 жыл бұрын
That might be what they were implying. You change to resemble a bird that you personally find ugly and/or repulsive, which would make it understandable why a number of Wandsmen have tried to find a way to change back.

Who knows. Personally I have orinthophobia (fear of birds) so I have no idea what species I’d get. Hopefully something cool like a eagle, but just my luck it would be a pigeon.

I actually thought of something, the scp foundation has documents that describe anomalies that destroyed earth or cause major damages but the scp foundation has no knowledge of these events. What if the wandsmen are the ones who bring these documents to other universe’s foundation so they could avoid the same mistake.
