I barely understood the whole scope of the story. From what I got, this “Worm” entity eating corrupted timelines/parallel universes is actually an object equivalent to a rock in a higher dimension. This higher dimension seems to be in a midst of a war, where our section of reality has been hit or in the process of being hit.

I gotta be honest, I didn't care much for the Project Palisade storyline until the last part of SCP-3591. It really put into perspective what's "really" happening, with the Foundation of the Mainline Reality being powerful enough to create ENTIRE ALTERNATE REALITIES, and yet still not being powerful enough to avoid a ricocheting rock thrown in a war happening between forces they can't possibly comprehend. Really boggles my mind.
@lordofthered1257 Жыл бұрын
That is what really turned me off to it. I liked the idea of the one true universe creating copies of themselves just to use as bait to desperately survive an all ending universal threat, but then if fell into the same horribly overplayed and overused "Lovecraftian" trope. The old nothing matters we are so small we are less than ants to them. Its so old and overplayed.

Here's my comment from the original part 1 video: I love these lengthy confusing plot-twist SCP's. I'm so excited for part 2! Here's my comment from the original part 2 video: This was amazing. It honestly makes so much sense and works well into the narrative. That's so cool! Now for my thoughts on this video where both parts are combined: I still agree. This is very interesting. Definitely some of favorite kinds of SCP's for sure. It's so existential and nearly impossible to understand the scale of something like this. That kind of concept is incredible yet also deeply terrifying. It really makes you reconsider everything you know. It's very well written and I'm glad that we can get both parts combined into one video now. Nice.

Cosmic Horror at its finest. Imagine what their WMDs must be like. A species that makes the Xeelee look insignificant. I wonder where they stand on the level of the Scarlet King and the Brother's Death? Perhaps they're High Elder Gods?
@marin814113 күн бұрын
Bit late but i like to imagine something like this. This is my interpretation and you font have to take my word The scp multiverse works a bit differently than most other multiverses. Humans , fae and all other species that have similar existence and concepts as humans are exclusive to this single multiversal branch This branch is centered around the wanderers library And within this branch Gods like the scarlet king, hanged king, yaldabaoth, three brothers death and mekhane also inhabit, They are immensely powerful Physics breaking beings of immense potential But they work in the ways we would still understand Technology Flesh Hunger Power Love Human concepts These are also shared amongst other similar species like the daeva and fae Sure they are different And messed up in our eyes But they are spawned of the same branch But but but... There are other branches... Lower branches and Higher branches as well And from these higher branches Ideas and concepts and laws so alien that our branches gods are nothing but kittens playing with bugs And from these branches Beings like the Cicada, the starfish, and ofc the Worm are coming from Interlopers that couldn't care less about the scarlet king or mekhane Because they dont matter They may be bigger bugs But they are still just bugs to them ironically And when they cross over they leave massive imprints As to why we dont see more of these beings in our branch? I reckon most get eaten by the Voru when they try to cross to another branch

On a controversial note, this ending reminds me of one of the weirdest aspects regarding religion. Why would an all-powerful being require you to believe in and worship them, and why would anyone want to hang out with a guy like that? Kinda like the idea of a world-destroying entity that couldn't care less that we are here, one way or another. The SCP Foundation definitely has a bend toward self-importance (for obvious narrative reasons), a refreshing take on everything trying to kill humanity for no reason
@duckdialectics8810 Жыл бұрын
It makes sense from a Platonic perspective, for example, if Good, capital G, is a person, then opposing that person is bad by definition, you need to accepted the hierarchial superiority of Good, to be good, and you need to worship Good to be good. (Good capital G being "Goodness itself")
@skeetsmcgrew3282 Жыл бұрын
@@duckdialectics8810 why wouldn't just being good be enough for the Good entity? I.e. following their tenants, accepting their wisdom, etc? Worship is this extra step. Like, I follow the laws, and I think most big laws are good ideas, but I don't worship the laws. I don't spend every waking moment thanking the laws, asking the law to protect me, all those things religious people do. I just don't break the law

@@skeetsmcgrew3282 I’m a bit late here but “worship” is basically a ritual of acknowledgment, affection, love, and appreciation on a grand cosmic scale. It’s like giving someone a thumbs or a hug, and also saying “thank you”, “I care about you/I love you”, “forgive me”, and “I’m doing my best” all wrapped into one. Showing how you feel about others is important to most people and (I guess) to God too.

This scp really made me think. About humans, the universe and our place in it. The juxtaposition between us and something like bugs is brilliant. So basically the reason everyone saw that entity differently is because it existed in so many other realities and they are all different. Some more then others. Even if its 'state', was the same. Or, and now that i think about it and this seems maybe more likely: We all see reality slightly differently so we were 'attuning' its image to what makes most sense to us as an individual. At least thats how i understood it. Thinking on it some more and the more 'meta' meaning of this story; both of these could be true, either or none. Its all interpretation, isnt it? Anyway, great scp. Its now one of my favs.

Very well poetically said. It reminds me of that lovecraftian god who sleeps and its dreams are our reality. What happens when it wakes? How can we even tell?
