So are you a Martian now? I haven't loved an artist this much since I was a teen, and that is a VERY long time ago, I am 70. I even have his rap on my playlist, and that you would have not convinced me would happen in this lifetime. Yes, I was listening to "Nunchucks" when I came across this new reaction - I watched you view "Fake Monk". I predict that this journey is going to make you very happy. I search the web on a daily basis looking for anything with him in it. I think that it is quite important to watch his audition for the SUPERBOY show, which he won in 2013. He was "discovered" by Shang Wenjie, who was a judge and is a famous singer and songwriter as well, although much older. Their interaction at this audition is fascinating. Oh, there's so much more!

Excuse me, that's a matter of taste. Dimash remains my cuppa tea even tho' I still love the artists I used to listen to and now more great artists like Hua Hua, Angelina J, Diana A etc. If we open our minds and hearts enough, there's always room for love and support for all of the amazing artists we have today without ditching one for the other bc they all deserve our appreciation for their hard work. Our different tastes and preferences can have their place in the privacy of our homes.

Loved your reaction Fil! Equal to Heaven is the theme song of the movie Wukong about the Monkey King, this song has been multiply awarded every year since its release. Hua's rap is just the best for me, it's rock, it's musical, it's powerful and always with deep lyrics. I am so glad you are doing both Dimash and Hua. Hua is the only artist who can make me sit and cry like a baby. I hope you will soon do, 'Dad, I'm Home' by Hua. I am so buzzed re-living my own astounded discovery of Hua Hua through you. I've been listening to him obsessively for nearly two years and I still joyfully leap out of my chair! There's a treasure trove of genius and drama, delight and gorgeousness waiting for you. I'd say go for Nunchucks next - plot twist upon plot twist, including air piano! Dude, he composed this song for a movie about the Chinese legendary Monkey God SunWuKong, who defy the norms and fought against the entire "sky palace" who were trying to tame him. Sometimes, I wonder was this song about the monkey god (who happens to be my childhood idol) or himself, against people who thinks his music is out of the norms, hence, not acceptable by their standards.

This is the first time I've seen lack of context give a song soooo much more meaning.... Loved you're interpretation- I was locked by the shackles by the references (this entire song is based on the Journey to the West, singing from the point of view of the Monkey King, who is essentially forced from a free character (considered demonic) to becoming a Buddhist figure) but your commentary on its wider implications is extremely attractive as HuaHua's songs are nearly always deeper than they may seem. Lol. When you said you won’t be pausing much I’m thinking we’ll see. Don’t blame you for pausing which shows how much you appreciate the lyrics and the performance. You will find in each song he sings he will use his special effects. So I expect you to pause frequently as you can’t help but be amazed how he uses his vocals in various parts of the songs. Definitely check out “Nunchucks” (from Singer 2018). It really demonstrates his versatility and range, and demonstrates his skill of rearranging songs. The original was simply pure rap but his version was incredibly complex and well arranged. Great video :)

I love all of HUA's art, and I haven't seen ALL of his performances from Singer 2020, but I think his collection of work that he chose for Singer 2018 was really the GREATEST and I can NOT believe JJ won over him when while what she does is very good, her singing style, arrangements, performance style, dynamics, range etc have ALL BEEN DONE a million times before and any singer on Broadway could sing equal to her or better. BUT what HUA did in each song was so unique and brilliant and gut wrenchingly true to his soul......with great vocals....I think he should have been awarded 1st place for originality, creativity, musical vocal arrangement and performance dynamics!! 2nd place is unjust. BUT he did win in 2020 ;)! so there!
