Bought a 255EXT about 8 months ago and been pretty happy with it. 1/3rd of the price of my Chinese built Dynasty, better duty cycle and comparable features. Everlast has stepped up the quality of the accessories, the torches, foot pedal and flow meter are actually decent. Is there better, sure, but the stuff Miller included with my Dynasty weren't the best either. I think Everlasts customer service is better, bought direct and they were nice enough to price match without a big hassle. Thinking about getting a MIG and another 255 from them soon. The videos are always great, thanks, enjoy watching them. Even for the type of fab work I'm really familiar with it's always nice to see how someone else does the same thing, always learning!

Great machine; power and control! I have to say that 4 months in, the main diodes went out, but it was all covered by warranty. Would I get this again...oh yeah!

Hi Jason...I’ve owned many welders over the 40 years that I’ve been welding. They’ve all had problems of more serious nature than what I mentioned of the 255EXT.

milehidude just curious, not trying to toss a dig, I was just curious. I was looking into one. I have the HTP 221 but looking for another one for the shop. 4 mo in going bad has to be a QC or shipping issue I would assume. It’s though to compare all the transformer machines (ived owner many) to this. Totally different animal than copper wrapped machines. Have you had any issues since?
@milehidude6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason. No issues to date. The only thing I would add is that you can’t use pure tungsten electrodes on inverters ... they burn through the electrode too fast. (The manual makes note of this)

I had a old everlast 200, there was a board failure from the get go which didn't allow for the pedal to work, trigger button worked fine and it still welded just fine, they had me return it on their dime, and I chose to upgrade to the 225LX, this was in 2011 and that welder was excellent. I ended up selling the welder for more than I paid for it about 6 years later. My newest welder was a song on a facebook buy and is a lincoln squarewave 200 and I miss post flow adjustment and the low amperage starts of the everlast.

I just bought one of these machines here in Australia. Pretty damn good and the price is unreal... Old 10amp wall plugs here trip out sometimes as its a 15amp plug here, but new outlets that are 10 amp (make up an adapter/grind down the larger earth on the plug like some ppl do) are meant to be rated to 16 amp and i havnt had any trouble on a new circuit. In NZ new 10amp outlets are rated to 20amps my mate tells me so even better for when i shift back!

Good video, I really want a Miller Dynasty for home use. We have 3 different sizes at work and they definitely are great machines, along with all the other blue welders we have. But and this is a big but, I can't justify the cost for having one at home. just to get in at the bottom end is going to cost me about $3,500 dollars. or more haven't checked in a while. Cyber weld is usually the cheapest so that's the pricing I'm using. There other options of course, used Dynasty , but they are hard to come by. Sycro wave, big, power hogs, not as many features. That's the problem with welding with really good equipment it's hard to chose something with less features. Thanks for the review.
@TheFabricatorSeries6 жыл бұрын
I had a Dynasty for years. It was and still is a great machine. I personally can't justify the price anymore. It's too expensive in my opinion for the same thing it has always been. The 255EXT is kind of scary in that is welds better than I remember my Dynasty running. It almost feels wrong to say that, but it's a beast at a fraction of the price.

I've had the 255ext for about 2yrs. Great machine, zero issues. I upgraded to a #9 ck-world wide torch, and the scc foot pedal. Both great upgrades(nothing wrong with what came with the machine). I had the Everlast powertig 200dx before switching to the 255ext, which was also a fantastic machine. I have noticed that the fan isnt as loud on the 255ext compaired to the 200dx(which wasn't that bothersome to begin with). My 255ext included a #9 air cooled torch and a #9 water cooled torch. Foot pedal, starter consumable kit, flow meter, gas hose, 220v to 115v adapter, and a basic setup guide. The machine ask comes with a 5yr warranty which is pretty nice. Great machines for a great price.

That's the machine I was originally going to buy before researching a bit. All the features, 100% duty cycle, and all the parts/accessories included were big reasons to buy the 255 over the 200DV. I'm sure it's a solid machine. The price is also the big seller. The two machines I have are less than the one Miller machine I was originally going to buy, and the quality is the same so far (especially with the 100% duty cycle).

Thanks for the video just bought the 210 ext a couple months ago. Love the machine I do regret not getting the 250 instead just because the little higher amperage even no I have no use for that many amps right now. Wasn’t in the budget at the time. But still am in love with the 210ext. And am glad with my purchase. I also upgraded the TIG torches and foot pedal. Roto flex TIG torches their version of super flex cables. And their nova pedal which is almost identical with the ssc foot pedal. The torches aren’t as good as ck TIG torches and cables but I paid $50 for each torch upgrade = $100 for two torches when one ck 17 torch is $150 minimum. And $100 for the nava pedal upgrade. Overall I am really satisfied with my purchase. Hope this info can help along with the awesome video from this guy👍 👨🏭

The Advanced Square features of the 210 allow it to really push some thick stuff. I rarely need more than 200 amps here at the shop, so the 210 is a very realistic TIG machine to own. I just picked up a Nova pedal as well which is pretty incredible. I might review it after I have more time using it.
@Stevemax077 жыл бұрын
As a hobbiest, 1st TIG machine, would you spring for the 255 to have the easy setup and potential growth capability? About $560 dollar difference right now. The budget would allow it, but also don't want to spend money for features that most really would never use. Don't have any specific uses in mind yet....just getting into the hobby. Thanks!
@TheFabricatorSeries7 жыл бұрын
Steven Crosbie I usually tell people the 210 is an extremely capable machine and it will probably never fail to do a job as a hobbyist, or working in an auto fab shop. Most people buy the 255 anyway haha. I flipped the easy setup on a few times and didn't really agree with it. That's probably because I am experienced and wanted to dial it in to my own settings. I don't have much opinion on the easy function because of that, but a couple people told me it helped them lay some beads right out of the box.
@everlastgenerator7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feed back. The Nova Pedal is actually improved over the SSC and has twice the life span @ 2 million cycles along with a better cable strain relief and improved cable and some additional things inside that make a difference. The Nova has a high end Japanese potentiometer vs. the Mexican built potentiometer of the SSC. If you have the Ultraflex cables, they are identical. The torches are nearly too, and out of the same materials. The only difference is that the Rotaflex have a heavier duty built hinge. In our testing of CK vesus Nova, the Nova equaled or outperformed the CK on duty cycle. The Rotaflex torches are a better price overall. If you compare item for item in a name blind test, people will not tell the difference. At shows people have not been able to tell the difference.

I also got the NOVA upgrade kit but there was no 17 torch with it Like my Lincoln that did and I like the way it feels. I seen in one of your video you recommend CK Torch should that be the one for me to go with then the Everlast ? last question will you be doing a next review on just the 255EXT?

How about a review of the Everlast 221 sti? Multi-process mig, tig and stick machine

Justin! Thnx for the great review! I’m going to purchase the 210. Mr. Tig recommended to upgrade to the 17f torch. He claimed that the stock torch was garbage. What torch did you use in the vid or which do you recommend for the 210? Thnx.

Just throwing this out there, but Everlast's website says the 255ext only has a 100% duty cycle at 200 amp and has a 60% duty cycle at 250. Still pretty good just wanted to point it out.
@TheFabricatorSeries7 жыл бұрын
American Machine You're correct (I didn't reiterate). I aimed it more at 100 because it's more than half of the range.
@johndunbar23937 жыл бұрын
Ah, I see. I didn't know if they had it wrong on their site or what. Still impressive nonetheless! These are looking more and more impressive the more videos I see of them.

Silly question I know... Butttt just how loud are those fans in real life? and did they update these machines so they don't constantly stay on or is that still the case? thanks!

Great channel, Have a request. I have a simple Everlast mig now 140st I think. But want a tig. For simplicity the multi machines seem great but no one seems to go over the features that they don't do as appose to a dedicated machine. The other thing, I'd love to see a video with a multi machine set up for mig and tig. Is it simply having two different bottles ready to go in the rear? what would you need to flip flop from one to the other? I would think that is a common thing if your buying a multi in the first place. Thanks

Curious on something here. At what point in tig welding do you throw the basic theory of 1 amp per .001 thickness? How is 250 amp enough to weld .500 aluminum?

Are you limited only to the use of “Chinese” tig torches with Everlast or can you use CK or Weldcraft torches without modification or special dines adapters? How about pedal? Does it have the random Chinese connector that no one uses making it hard to get a replacement pedal because the plug is not used by anyone else? I see these as 2 very important wear and tear items that need to be able to get spares if needed or upgraded.

I didn't need a tig as I already had a tigwave 250, but I did need a mig. Imig 210 is a great machine too.

I’ve been debating between the everlast or the AHP for my next welder. The old miller ab/p is a little large to be moving across the shop at 850lbs.
@TheFabricatorSeries7 жыл бұрын
rockstarrcustomz I have an AHP. It's a decent machine, but I'd grab an Everlast for better control and long life. It's a more serious machine than the AHP.

The Fabrication Series . Excellent, I’ll do just that. I picked up the rouge bender on your recommendation and it was excellent. I trust your judgement.

Hey Justin , I to would be very interested in you findings about the Advanced AC Pulse as im only self taught im struggling a little with setting this feature up. I have the 210 EXT and i to am very impressed with this machine with the knowledge i have so far, ive had some people tell me i must be using a Miller or Lincoln to have the ally welds come out so clean and there jaws drop when you tell them its an Everlast and like you said, they then say who or what brand is that. Any how thanks for the videos you do , much appreciated Cheers from Australia Troy

What is the difference in low range amperage between the machines? On the website the 255 advertises 3 amps DC and 5 amps AC, but the 210 does not mention in the specs.
@jimjungle13976 жыл бұрын
The 255EXT will START with 3 amps in DC and START with 5 amps in AC. The 210 EXT will START with 5 amps in both DC and AC but can operate down 3 amps.in DC and down to 5 amps AC. So in theory the 255 EXT can have a milder DC START than the 210 EXT. Not a huge difference though as 5 amps is still pretty low.

Hey brother! Love the content. Question: Newbie on a PowerTig 255 EXT, 3/32" lanthanated, 3/32" ER70-2 filler rods,No 5 cup, 10-12CFH, 2s preflow @50A, ramp for 2s up to100A, 5s down slope @50A, 5s post flow on 1/4" plate steel. Having major oxidation of the electrodes (I think). DCEN, 2T, HF arc start... Any thoughts? Learned stick welding (underwater) in the commercial diving industry. New to TIG.
@TheFabricatorSeries5 жыл бұрын
You need more amps and smaller filler.
