So the compressor itself was hooked up, but it didn't kick on together with the fan?

No, I think the overload protection is shot. I think it’s better that way as all of the electrical contacts on the compressor are crumbling apart

I’m not chasing the full originality of the unit, so I feel fine replacing the compressor with a newer one. Plus the original compressor is absolutely rotted, I won’t be surprised if it leaks if I use it for another year

Kalau 100% tenang saya rasa tidak ada di budget segitu, tapi seingat saya kipas meja 12” Cosmos suaranya senyap di kecepatan rendah

Back in 2017, I was planned to bring a Firstline AC unit to my 'new' JHS school, but it was failed. That unit doesn't taken down until this year (2024), and after I graduated, this unit, well, even don't taken down. My parents' seems don't care about that. Thinking about scrapping the Firstline one as I already have the Thai-made Sanken AC unit which more rare than Firstline. Oh, my suggestion is, you can brought this unit to one of your friends who has a air conditioner expert. And you install it to replacing your FTC20NV14 in your bedroom. Edit: Regarding on the description, yes, most of school principals are sucks now. They are thinking themselves, without caring about students matter what. I fortunately stopped schools since 2020, as I don't want to further regret. I regret to schooling.

I have since fixed the refrigerant-y components in this unit at my go to AC repairman. I plan on keeping it in storage until I can build a dedicated space for it
