I thought yalls last episode was great. I appreciate honest realistic takes regardless of whether or not I 100% agree. Yall are obviously good players that know the game well and help evolve the community by giving players good competitive advice on how to build list and play the game well. So for what's its worth I love that yall don't pull punches and when you talk about the game.

Wow, I'm excited to play against clones for once. I'm guessing the intended use of Anakin is to solo (with backup of a squad maybe) a lane and be a menace in the midfield. I like that tying him up with a big unit or another force user is a valid tactic.

Kenobi never getting defense surge in melee is a huge oversight to me. They should have at least given him block since they took it from his mastery.

The LAAT gunship is now 2R2B instead of 1 and 3, and it now has 2 ordnance slots. It actually hits much harder as a gunship, on top of transport.

To be fair, this new approach should let them expand our faction without unintended consequences that happen now. That said, clone ball has been required since “range 1 share 1 token only per event” nerf, which I think was needed. That said, we now can do that at range 1-2. Ironically, we swapped exemplar for inspire 3 on padme (inspire 5 with anakin 3 pip), which is range 1-2. Backup is range 1? So they don’t want us clone balling, but the new changes require just as much grouping up to have any effect at all. And inspire 5 is arguably useless in 75% of turns. We have bolster 4 on our two previously heavily used support characters but all our clones now have reliable 1. Basically they swapped all our core mechanics for many that are largely useless right now without exemplar or similar. I get why they changed it, I’m glad everyone else is happy, but our faction identity is basically generic empire now with op Vader being Anakin, and no longer the past version. Meanwhile droids are better with dooku having direct and others have exemplar and need to range 1 for order control. Empire has it to generate free precise 1 tokens on storms, and rebels can now infinitely dodge spam.

I think they took it away from Anakin and Padme because every clone already has a psuedo exemplar from being a clone trooper. So Rex/Code/Clone Commander still share their tokens with everyone who is a clone. So Clones will still have more token sharing than other factions, and it's harder to shut down since nearly every unit can do it unless you're running something like wookie spam.

Non surging clones with no fire support or precise, no nimble or take cover, borrowing an action from other clones who had to activate first and be nearby. Storms now have free aims for precise 1 and still get two actions, already innate surge hit. Rebels went from take cover 2 and vigilance nimble on their core to now take cover 4-5 each turn, nimble, surge block, and vigilance on core lets them keep them into next turn (padme could only keep hers or anakins, not four on nimble core). Droids can now keep dooku alive as he marched across the board with backup while exemplar and direct trooper are easily accessible for the magnaguard to nearly infinitely protect dooku and likely still charge into your face like op Vader but with 50 white save linebackers and 3-4 red save immune melee pierce free dodge charge surge hit badasses. But yes clone token sharing a 4 black 6 white dice z6 shot can borrow an aim or a single surge from nearby pals leaving the pal vulnerable as a result. I’m salty for sure, but I think you’re way off here.

@JordanMarshDev when I say more I mean that literally there are more units in GAR that can share any amount of tokens. For pretty much everyone else it's just some command slots. Which is also separate from access to said tokens ofc, but Cody and Rex still generate a ton and every clone can purchase reliable 1 or defend 1 with the leader slot.

Any reason you'd take Fives + extra dudes with a Z-6 instead of taking the DP-23? Now that Fives and the DP-23 can use their guns in melee, you can get 2 red/12 black with Pierce 1 at range melee-to-2 . . .

Force push being 40 points is a lazy fix. Make it an action and not free and poof problem made significantly better. 40 points is a fucking joke, frankly.

Force Push as an action is like deleting the card. You can always just move yourself into melee instead and even got a higher range with it.

@@ruas4721 but you can just step out of melee and keep your actions now? And you can’t body block anymore, so I’m not sure how else you can justify spending 40 points on an upgrade instead of nearly 2 heavy weapons on other units or literally an entire core for most factions. With some exceptions force push won’t exist for most armies these days except those that still need it to be viable. It happened with burst of speed and vigilance both and those were ~doubled in cost to 10 and 14 points, respectively. By 40 points they’ve already effectively deleted it. And they already deleted many other keywords so I don’t really understand the logic.

@@JordanMarshDev Force Push was an autoinclude, changing that is a good thing. Maybe 40p are to much, but it has to be expensive so you think twice about taking it.

@@ruas4721 it has to be 40 points? Would I like to not auto include push everytime? Yes. Does making it more expensive help alleviate that? Also yes. But to say that it’s required to be 4x to 10x any other force ability is a stretch at best. It’s definitely not worth a whole squad or two z6s on two squads.
