"One town ahead of the posse." That line alone made the show for me, the rest was all gravy. Thank you all.

To this day, I think it is just a shame that they retired the F-14. But yet the F-15 continues to fly. Don't get me wrong, the F-15C is a beautiful bird, but to me the F-14 was just majestic. And being able to hear all these tails of what you fine gentlemen and that beautiful bird had gone through is amazing. Thank you so much for what you bring to the table and let those of us that are interested, know what it was like to fly that aircraft.

Great episode. Snort came to fly the F-14B Weapon System Trainer ( Device 2F169 ) in Great River NY in 1996 that we were developing for the Navy. We combined elements of the 2F112 & 2F153 trainers with a new simulation computer & visual system. We used the new F-14B mission computer in our system and had a PTID once and a while for testing. The PTID was hard to come by at that time.

Gents, really out of the park, this time!! Outstanding episode. I was fortunate to meet Hey Joe in that time frame while I was at the F-14 Program Office as the D pm. Capt Bob Reira was the F-14 Pm, and we fought the money battles for Lantirn.from the Program Side....as Hey Joe said, the Hornet Mafia was very much against us. We literally pulled every spare dime, nickel and penny out of the F-14 accounts, and funded the installation for the fleet, and the pods for the first squadrons to get things going. I don't think many people knew that it virtually stopped a lot of F-14 rework for a year, anyway. Fortunately, the next N61, was Mike McCabe, and things got better in 1996. Great job, gents!! Gentlemen Thank You for sharing the Memories, I grew up in So.Md an area filled with often many diffrent type aircraft from.Andrews Pax River Quantico,My Mom worked at then NSWC Dahlgren Va, so as kids we spent summers at the Pool on base I could see an F14 Tomcat that was Tucked in a Hanger rumors always swirling if it was airworthy. Outstanding Job Love the Story I've heard the Lantern PoD story Snort Version and It was awsome to hear different aspects from "Hey Joe"..... Keep On Keepin On Sir's.. God Bless America 🇺🇸

Oh man what a brilliant episode, amazing guest, just shows what a battle it is against the politics of war to get what's absolutely needed/best to the armed forces, the Tomcat was definitely the best choice for attack.everything now seems to need huge fuel tanks that completely negate the design and performance of the plane . "They don't make em like they used to" unfortunately .

If Heyjo flew El Dorado Canyon, that'd be an interesting interview. I haven't seen any interviews from the Navy side of that operation.

Great stuff as always. I hope you see my humor when I see Hey Joe as the dude from Wizard of Oz. The one that answers the door to the dude behind the curtain! Yes, I'm an old fart!
