That was a non-stop action. Well I slept at 1am and was contemplating if I should go for an hour before work. Here is my morning motivation.

You’re bang on; it’s not so much the color but how one fishes it 🤗. Have many a days tossing something and people switching up tossing the same lure but having much less hookups. Knowing how to fish a lure goes a long way

@avid.venture yes, the method of use is more important than the actual tool.

When was this that you were getting action like this? I've fished that dugout a few times the last few weeks here and definitely did not have action like this so I imagine it was earlier in the season?
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures4 күн бұрын
This was on November 1st, 2024 at 8 AM till about 9:20 AM. I've done well up until Monday of this week. I caught two wilds and one hatchery coho and that is the last coho for me this week. Was out a couple more times and only chum.

Nice video. This is how it should be done IMO. Big well known river, highlights of peak season, sharing tips even. Not some tiny flow with volunteer hatchery and no crowds being advertised online by new fishermen for views. In the 90s I used to order the almost identical spoons from California that a guy made in his basement, the Mor-Tack Stilly spoon hammered copper or 50/50 etc. Because everybody else drift fished in BC back then.

Glad you enjoyed it. I know everyone has their opinions on media and it's use in every part of life. Some areas are more sensitive than others. I try not to bring unnecessary attention to little fisheries. I don't name a lot of places, but do name a few that are more well known by the masses already. I'm sure there are people who have issue with videos even like this. I usually wait a bit to post these as well... I have been fishing this spot this last week and usually only 2 to 4 people per side. So have at it whoever wants to try to catch the last few coho going through. Not sure if this spot will survive the winter and spring high water times. We will see next summer how things look. So nobody fished lures in the 90s??? That is interesting. Lure fishing is what got me into river and coho fishing. I didn't start trying till I moved to the area around 2015. Thanks for commenting.

You mentioned braid. Do you have a 5-10ft mono bumper then from spoon to braid?
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures4 күн бұрын
Fluorocarbon bumper as discussed in the Video. He asked me why I had a six inch piece of clear line. I usually tie on a 5 to 10 foot piece and it just slowly disappears because I change my hooks often and re-tie often.
@sabotar4 күн бұрын
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures whoops must've missed that part while skipping through. What's your preferred braid to fluro knot?

where is this lower or upper?
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures2 күн бұрын
@markhillquiwag1646 looks like lower to me. Not aware of any rock removal in the upper river this year. I think the Vedder trail system is along what is considered to be the lower river.

I'm 12 and i live in burnaby so the vedder is a long drive for me but i'm going there tomorrow. This is probably my favorite spot on the vedder but since the water came up the island in between the pond and the river is gone so i can't fish the edge of the current anymore. What spots on this "pond" are the most productive and fish-able?
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures4 күн бұрын
It's pretty slow now, not much fish left to catch. Might get the odd one if you're lucky. You can still fish the remaining edges even though the island is gone.
