John - I really appreciate your foraging skills and allowing us to tag along on your excursions. It just isn't fair that I'm stuck here waiting on the results of my second COVID vaccination [04/08] and you are able enjoy the beach and open waters for fishing. I love it but I'm so envious too. Keep posting these outstanding videos! I'm still planning my first canoe trip for the second weekend of June when the average water temperature on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River will be at least 72 degrees Fahrenheit and water is running clear. You better bring all of the Fishlockers when you come to Virginia to visit as the canoes or kayaks will be paid up and ready to run. Enjoy the gathered meals with your family and stay safe and healthy.

@@HooliganLuke Do some weight adjustment as a 7mm is very buoyant and requires more than previous suits. I like a neck gaiter too because my neck gets cold in a hurry. Wearing gloves causes a loss of tactile feel so learn where your gear hangs and how it clips by wearing gloves before you hit the water. I used to practice standing near the couch and then hit the deep end of a pool with the lights off in the field house for practice after I got used to wearing the gloves. ~~ Stay safe and have fun.

I love nighttime SCUBA diving for the same reason. Even if I know the seabed very well, it always looks and feels so different with no ambient light. All you see is what is in your hand light's circle and I'm always a bit startled when I see a Moray Eel sitting halfway out of his den that I just seemed to flash my light past without seeing the first time There he sits with the mouth open just breathing. They aren't usually aggressive, but the front view of the working end of the eel looking straight at the teeth can grab your attention, quick, fast and in a hurry.
