James is a trip! So fun seeing his sense of humor and personality really emerging in the videos as he's gotten more comfortable talking on camera. Love his silliness--especially about Daddy possibly getting pinched! Lol! Also love how you reassure him when he says he's scared about something. You don't tease, you just tell him that what he's experiencing is normal and he's capable of dealing with it.

John, I have been a subscriber and have been watching your videos for maybe a couple of years on and off and have had much fishing (coarse, Sea and fly), shooting/hunting, outdoors (hiking, camping) experience etc and so on for some 40 odd years, but I still find your video's incredibly informative, knowledgeable and educational, and what you are doing with James is absolutely priceless, teaching him about the environment and natural World around him, and in a practical way which he will never, ever learn at school, unless they take them out and do it like you do. And loved James's humour about the gonads being nipped aha!, think maybe Mum may have put him up to that hehe!. But I find your video's infectious! so when I watch them I try to limit myself to maybe two or three at one time, except for tonight which has been 4-5! ending with this one of you and James (no doubt with lobster flavoured hoola hoops!!) cooking fresh seafood on the shore, can't think of a better way to go! Particularly like the rock-hopping, shore forays videos, they are excellent quality and show the amazing diversity of species of everything we have in these Isles. Keep doing what you do, am a big fan....steve

Hello John. Thank you very much for another brilliant video. You brought back very fond memories of me and my late Grandad crabbing for shore crabs in Aberystwyth harbour whilst on holiday using bacon as bait. He taught me how to identify male and female crabs. I'm sure that James will recall his foraging adventures with you in a similar way. Decades later, me and my brother re-lived the experience and went crabbing in North Somerset. The crabs there were so aggressive. More recently, I went foraging for seaweed at Rottingdean on the South Coast. Collected some sea lettuce and dried it at home to flavour sushi rice. Will look for kelp or oar weed next time. Love your videos. Please keep them coming. 👍
