Framing A Garage Ceiling Time-Lapse

In this video I help my friend Tamara frame out a 20x20 foot ceiling in her garage. The reason for the ceiling is to insulate and keep her future workshop warm in the winter. We are using 2x10's and strapping for this build.

Could you be able to install drywall directly to the ceiling joists instead of adding the 1x3?

Hey, you can. Strapping ties everything together and makes it more solid in my opinion. It makes it way easier to screw drywall into. 1 1/2 is not much room to screw into, especially when you have to do two sheets for a butt joint.
