I find it ironic that they fired Frank Vogel, a defensive specialist coach, for not trusting his other players deeper in the rotations, and for that matter, just not adjusting or making any adaptations to their rotations, lineups or plays the entire playoffs, only to hire Mike Budenholzer, who himself is a defensive specialist coach who also is famous for never adapting, changing up rotations or play-calls and style in the playoffs to a fault. They've literally hired a coach to replace the one they just fired who functions identically.

If the defence can be as physical as this in the playoffs, then a lot of teams are in trouble. The Suns are in a precarious position of whether to trade KD/Booker or both. Trading KD gets u less assets, but can still get better pieces and some picks. However, you’ll be getting more from a Booker trade and gambling that KD doesn’t fall off a cliff to still contend. Ishbia will run it back but this team has 3 versions of the same player and will have the exact same problem when they face a monster defensive team like the Wolves

Honestly I think if they want to improve their team not just for next year but in years to come they need to trade KD and preferably Devin Booker as well. Bradly Beal is untradeable, nobody wants that contract. So you are paying Beal mad money, KD mad money and Devin Booker is getting a massive stack of cash as well. The only way you improve your team is through the draft or veteran minimum contracts. They don't have draft picks until 2031, meanwhile even IF (a big if) KD stays until his contract his up he is gone in 2026, and they finally get Beal off the books in 2027. But for those next 2-3 years they are in purgatory as a team that will probably make the playoffs but almost certainly not get past the 1st or 2nd rounds. Then Devin Bookers contract is up in 2028 and if Devin stays for the duration of his contract you really think he is going to want to stick around after the absolute blunder their front office has created? If they can work a miracle and trade Bradly Beal that would possibly put them back on track but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I know people will want them to hold on to Devin Booker but honestly given the current CBA, I don't want to be paying anybody that much money because you need sooooo much depth to get out of the west right now. Get some draft picks, find you a young kid that can ball without paying them a ton and then you can add players like KD or Devin Booker to get them over the top.
