After eating shit on my EUC doing 38mph on a windy day into a gravel shoulder, I just have to say having gear on takes it from something that will kill you. Into something that makes your back feel like shit for a couple weeks with a week of tagaderm patches for the road rash. Once you are consistently going 25mph+ full-face helmet or something with a visor is so worth it.

Do you guys use a GPS too? How do you choose an accurate diameter on the tire on the Vesc tool to get a precise speed?
@nicoaleman6 ай бұрын
For transparency's sake, we technically had GPS running as well which reported 41mph for my last run, but the speeds reported were pretty inconsistent. Rather than consistently being lower than controller speed (which might indicate over-stated tire diameter), it would sometimes report lower, and sometimes report higher. Between that and the sample rate being much lower, it doesn't seem reliable for this test where we might only reach the top speed for a moment. It's mainly good for just getting average speeds over long distances. Since no wheelslip is involved here and the speed readings from the controller are pretty consistent and grounded in real data, I think it's safe to go off of them. I got a quick measurement of the tire circumference before the test and derived the diameter from that, about 285mm, so that's what the speed readings are based on.
@rafaelinmissouri62356 ай бұрын
@@nicoaleman nice!!! Were you using a real GPS or a phone GPS?

What about adding a small plastic wheel or wheel-bar thingy on the front so you can't scrape it and allow you to accelerate to full potential. like a reversed wheelie bar.
@tiny0076 ай бұрын
Great performance man ! If you reach 45MPH or even +50MPH your cameraman will need balls of steel to ride that fast with a camera, I mean even for experience EUC rider its hard to ride that fast ! I can't imagine if a Onewheel reaches 60MPH, then only the Commander GT PRO (fastest EUC right now) will be able to follow you !

So this is for the float life guys and engineering nerds of float life. I'm used to duty cycle as a welder being let's say 20% duty cycle is 20% on and 80% off or at rest. That's obviously a relatively low duty cycle not for the type of welders that we want, but that is some of your cheaper welders and also just an example. You guys are showing duty cycle as the number gets bigger as the board goes faster or uses more torque so when onewheel uses torque range as opposed to duty cycle, it's a little more obvious to me as to what the motor is doing, but you guys are using duty cycle I think in reverse the higher your percentage of duty cycle is means the lower amount of time you can actually run at that speed which is usually a high speed. So when you guys case when you say 80% duty cycle, you really mean that you can only run at 20% of that duty cycle at the speed you're going which for some of you guys is 30 miles an hour even more. I'd like to know you guys thoughts on this, and hopefully this is clear enough to understand.

Is it possible to have the GT/GTS run the same road and see what their max speed are? Holy cow, I can't believe my eyes; these VESC system are just unreal. Really would like to run it but don't want to tamper with controller.
