I'm sure the reason for his overthrow had nothing at all to do with his plan to introduce a pan African currency with which his countries oil was to be traded, or for his virtually free petrol and subsidised electricity for all Libyans, not to mention free tertiary education (want to study OS, he would pay for that as well), or for his tens of thousands of dollars given to expecting mothers to ease the financial burden of raising a child, or the greenification of vast swathes of desert to arable land for the newly discovered oceans for fresh artesian water, or the generous financial help for housing, etc etc etc.

I watched the original footage back in the day. He was led up to the gallows. He was calm. And, I was very impressed that Iraq had total religious freedom under Saddam. There are one Jewish Temple, Two Catholic Churches, and Three Protestant Churches in Bagdad. Yes, Saddam believed in religious freedom. And, Saddam was Always a friend to America. The Iranians hated Saddam for this! I realize that Saddam did some things wrong, but he was Always America's friend. And, out President, Bush LIED to us. Many times he lied. There never were any "Weapons Of Mass Destruction" in Iraq!
