Sneezing because of intense light (also know as the photic sneeze reflex) is caused by a genetic condition called "Austosomal Dominant Compelling Helio Opthalmic Outburst Syndrome". Basically if your Optic Nerve is overstimulated, it causes the Trigeminal Nerve in your nose to be stimulated, causing you to sneeze. That's my fun fact of the day!

I was looking that up myself. I wouldn’t call it an allergic reaction Mary. Just sneezing from exposure to the sun doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an allergy. I’m more inclined to think it’s the “exaggerated response from exposure to the light of the sun” (according to the Cleveland Clinic’s Allergy & Immunology Clinic Dr. David Land. As was explained in the post previous to mine it involves the trigeminal nerve. Maybe try wearing sunglasses, which we should all do anyway to protect our eyes from the sun!

I'm a child development major and one of my college classes was an art class. I had to make a file box for the art made in class. This art class sets you up for teaching young children. The sneezing if you look into a bright light is called "photic sneeze reflex" or-if you want to use a fancy name- "Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outburst"😄 it's inherited in an autosomal dominant manner and there are quite a bit of theories about the true cause of the condition. I don't have it, my son does though +I think it's kind of cute😄

I was really enjoying the background music that was playing while Mary was switching up her watercolours! Shopping for underwear can be a real bummer (sorry, I just had to) especially when the brand that you have been buying for years disappears from the face of the earth or the store where you always bought it closes permanently. Fortunately, Amazon has come to my rescue and I can continue to purchase my favourite underwear, free from anxiety. My husband and I love salmon and trout. We cook it in the oven inside a foil “ tent “ with lemon pepper seasoning and lemon juice....so moist and delicious! I am definitely not allergic to sunshine. My son, who is now 33 years old, sneezes when he first gets into the sun. I noticed this when he was 6 weeks old. His pediatrician told me it’s a genetic trait like blue eyes. Neither of his siblings have it. And on a trip to visit him in Chicago 3 years ago we all exited a restaurant and waited for him to sneeze...achoo!! 🤪😀😀

Sunshine sneeze isn't an allergy. It's called the 'photic sneeze reflex' and it's very common. A couple of theories are that it's an autonomic nerve system thing, and another is that it's a trigeminal nerve thing.
