My husband actually makes stained glass as a hobby. We have used it for unique wedding gifts, because we know NOBODY else will be giving the same thing(Unlike a toaster or gift card hahaha). I can't wait to get the stamp from DRS Designs so I can adapt his patterns to the wedding card, or a gift tag. thank you sooo much Lindsey :)

OK! I've done my patriotic duty of supporting the US economy - rushed right over and bought the stained glass stamp, the biker's prayer stamp, July birthday, and three others. I've watched you use the Mega-Mount several times. It's next. Thanks for your wonderful tutorials/videos. I've been collecting and feverishly stamping for 19 years and learn so much from you every video.

Hi Lindsey, I LOVE the stained glass stamps and went onto the DRS site, wound up buying 4 great stamps, and this after right before you went to the stamp show I was watching the great wizard of oz painting on a stamp you did, went on lost Coast designed and bought a bunch of their incredible stamps. Actually the owner of LCD needed to call me because the discount code wasn't working and She wanted to know did I still want the stamps in my basket. She was able to apply the discount, I have already received those GREAT stamps. I mentioned that it was your tutorial that led me to their site and she said she was seeing you this weekend at the stamp show! I try to be a frugal crafter myself, but I love your tutorials and I'm starting from 0. I make sure these folks know it's you that send me their way. .And a great big THANKS to you for making all of this so attainable to us newbies. LOVE all your tutorials. God Bless, Pat

Ugh - it was 110 today where we live in Cali. Yeah, it's more of a dry heat - but imagine this..preheat your oven on to about 400 and then stick your head in it - LOL! NO - people do NOT do that please!! At about 4:00 today I needed to go to the post office. My car has to sit on the driveway and so when I got in the car, the leather seats and steering wheel was untouchable. I rolled down the windows and turned the a/c full blast. It took three tries of getting in the car before I could handle the heat. I honestly felt like I know what a piece of bacon feels like when it's tossed onto a hot cast iron skillet!! But enough about ME!! That is a really cool technique. Thanks for showing how to do the embossing.

I'm responding to your concerns about your Tim Holtz distress markers drying out. It looks like your not pressing hard enough when putting the caps back on after using them. If you see a black rim on the marker barrel right under the edge of the white cap, then you don't have it on all the way and it's not sealed, which results in the marker drying out. I know it seems silly but I noticed one of the markers in the background of your video, and a black rim was visible. Make sure to press hard enough when recapping your distress markers so that you feel and hear a snap and there is no visible black rim under the cap on both ends of the marker. Hope this helps.

Hey Lindsay know this is an older video but I'm doing a swap which we have to do three atcs in stained glass effect - knew your probably done something - you always seem to, and found this great video! Love the background stamp and how you used a normal focal stamp on top. I don't have a background stamp but might experiment firstly with colouring background after stamping focal image then doing three layers if embossing powder then crack it and use my black PITT pen to trace the cracks. Alternatively I might just draw random crack pattern in background first then stamp and proceed as normal. Do love those stamps and as per usual I adore watching your videos. I love getting an insight into your daily life and like hearing about your day - I class you as a friend so value those times I sit with a cuppa and watch and listen to you Lindsay. Big hugs - ignore the critics. X

Ever notice the water based markers often have that fibrous tip, where the fibers split after a while, but alcohol inks have foam tips? Maybe that's why alcohol marker tips last. Or your water theory, but even the Sharpies have fraying tips.

Lindsay, I really appreciate your taking the time to demonstrate the use of the "stained glass look" stamp. Your artwork is quite lovely. I have a question about buying stamps in general: what is the difference between "trimmed on cling cushion" and "unmounted" stamps? The rubber mounted on wood is obvious; are there any other types of stamps that I have not mentioned? Which one are you using (the new stamp)? I think it is unmounted rubber; am I correct?
@thefrugalcrafter10 жыл бұрын
that stamp is actually on cling cushion. Sometimes these are called unmounted because you still need a stamp mount (clear block) to use them. The other type of unmounted stamp is bare rubber. You need to add cushion and mount it on wood or use cling cushion so it will cling to a block or you can simple use re-positional glue on the back to make them sticky (of if you are in a rush use a glue stick to attach it to a mount. Bare rubber is significantly cheaper than cling cushion mounted but it is harder to find because most customers want the cling mounted stamps. I get bare rubber when available and mount them myself (A, 8.5:x11 sheet of cling foam is $4.50 from most places) as I enjoy the pricess:)
@petrinabeads122510 жыл бұрын
thefrugalcrafter . Lindsay, do you have a video on how to mount bare rubber stamps on to a cling cushion? Is there a frugal source you would recommend for purchasing this product? Thanks for taking the time to respond--you are a gem!
