I can’t believe you have excluded Breville from the toastie maker test because they are the brand leader and mid-priced like the Russell Hobbs. Breville are the best.

I was going to say that!! But I was only little (6 yrs old?) but I swear they held more filling in the 80's. Such a shame it never give any warning about putting Jam in them in BIG BOLD LETTERS. Almost as bad as McDonald apple pie (The hottest substance known to man) I cried for hours and my mouth hurt for days. At least 2nd degree.

I have the cuisinart, it should be noted older models do not have removable plates.

I have this russel hobs one, and I'm watching videos now exactly because I want to buy a better sandwich maker. The russel hobs dont fit a full bread sandwich, that triangle plate is annoying, if you close it completely you will end with a very squishy bread its hard to clear and cheese always stuck on it. I definitely do not recommend.

Tower products are awful. Had 3-4 different kitchen appliances from them including a toastie maker and its been awful!

The one that cooked faster doesn't have removable plates that are dishwasher friendly and is less safe in according to them but it's still the best? how the hell you work that out just cook it longer and have a better experience all round. What a horrendous comparison.
