The potential this collection had. Halo 2: Anniversary is my favourite Halo engine and has my favourite Halo maps. Thank god Halo 5: Guardians is good, but I can't help feel I would be playing this instead of Halo 5 if it worked. *cries in the corner of the room* 2020 EDIT: Halo 5 was appallingly shit, excuse my 13 year-old self.

I honestly think we are on the verge of a 2nd gaming crash. Look up the original crash, that happened because shitty unfinished games were rushed out and gamers got sick and consumer confidence was zero and nobody bought anymore games so nobody made any.... Look at what's happening now, it's not looking good is it?

I don't think it's going to happen. Gaming today is WAY more mainstream/popular for that to happen again. Some people make a living playing games, reviewing them, etc. What NEEDS to happen is we need to stop putting money down before the game even comes out. You have people pre-ordering the deluxe ultimate edition for a game not even knowing what they might get from it. If anything, pre-orders need to go down and consumers should rely more on the sources they really trust.

***** ***** I guess. It just makes me a bit concerned when even TheGamer2323 says "I'm SICK of companies releasing broken games!" Which is pretty much what caused it last time. The gaming industry was doing well when it happened last time too. I think next year will be interesting, with games like MGSV, Arkham Knight, FFXV, Uncharted 4... There are some very promising titles due next year, but this year's biggest releases all releasing either with glitches, lies and broken servers has me concerned for the way the industry is heading. I mean, dude; its pretty bad when Call of Duty turns out to be one of the better games of the year based solely on the fact that it actually works lol

Bruh at the end of the day even if they fix this, people are gonna play it and have a good trip down memory lane, only to realize "wait a minute. This is the game I've played countless hours of years ago, it's nothing new." and then they're gonna get burned out. I'm speaking from experience, I have come back to games I used to play years ago, had a blast with the nostalgia coming into play, and then after a while I just stopped myself and thought "man this is archaic and barebones as fuck nowadays. Well. It's been fun." and I had to move on cause I wanted to just stick with my old memories of it.

Yeah the state that these games have been releasing in recently are just atrocious. And I will never understand those fanboys that defend stuff like this either. I mean I get it. You're a long time fan of that franchise and/or developer. You want to be patient and give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have it fixed in a reasonable amount of time. But there's got to be a certain point when you just say enough is enough. (I mean even I've given up on Driveclub at this point). And I also hate those people that I've seen saying "it's just the norm now for games to launch broken. Get used to it." It wasn't the norm with past generations of consoles so why now, with this new, "superior to the weak last gen consoles" are we getting so many broken games? This is why I'm glad I'm into indie games as well. They often don't try to pull this crap with shipping broken games. Nintendo as well and a few other developers also make sure a game is functional before release. (Also I think it's pretty funny that these "shitty" indie games as some people refer to them as can have a better launch day with a smaller budget and smaller dev team than some of these big budget AAA games do lol) /rant -rantmack35

Totally agree with this guy. If a game launched in the ps2 era with this much errors it would NEVER get a good review and people would hate it. Patches should be added just to maybe "rebalance" some things or to fix minor things that may have gotten through to the retail version. But to have NO functional multiplayer is ridiculous. so 2014 in conclusion is: 1. Watchdog's advertised as amazing but comes up as shit plus almost unplayable on PC 2. Broken and unplayable Driveclub game that DID get delayed 3. Ubisoft saying girls are too hard to add in their games 4. Ubisoft going for console parity to avoid debate and stuff which backfired 5. Halo MCC launching and not working with bugs in both campaign and mostly in multiplayer 6. Ubisoft locking the game at 900p 30fps and failing to meet even that after launching the game. Plus all the additional glitches 7. ubisoft and their 12 hour embargo for AC unity which caused a lot of community backlash 8. Far Cry 4 launches with totally messed up multiplayer. anything i miss?

The problems seems to be there is a flaw somewhere in the coding for the game match making wise. Being that is why they were taking down game modes to try to narrow it down. They are gonna have to fix it, that said its still unacceptable. I am from the NES days, Genesis Days, Super Nintendo Days. THERE WERE NO SYSTEM UPDATES, PATCHES OR ANYTHING! So they had to ship the game out correctly or it would never work at all ever. This is a common problems with all games coming out.

I will say this, no game is flawless. There will be bugs, glitches, and things like that. For a game like Halo, which people play for the MP, those server need to ready because the millions of people who bought the game, 9 out 10 are hopping straight to that MP. 343 and Microsoft got boatloads of money and should have been prepared for this. We are in a generation where people are fine which buying broken games because since a patch can be released its all good. Whether you are a fanboy or not, Driveclub was and still is broken (which I do feel bad because I did see that being a great title for Evolution studios), Unity was rushed, Halo was and is broken...I mean so many games just rushed out and the devs just raped us with no lube and took our money. This is getting crazy.

Gamer, I played the halo 2 campaign on legendary with no saves the next day and random crashes as well. After all of that I never got any achievement for beating it on legendary nor any nameplates. So disappointed and upset with 343.

I haven't purchased any of these titles or do I plan to. I have picked up Bayonetta 2, smash for 3ds, Hyrule warriors and Diablo 3 for the PS4 in the past 4 months. After Battlefield 4 I kinda new this would become the norm and it saddens me. It is criminal for Million dollar companies to release these games in the condition they are in. Goes to show that most game devs care more about increases their bottom line then releasing a good product.

I dont have an Xbox One to try Halo Master Chief Collection but you are right this generation and at the end of the last generation most of the games got released broken and that includes all gaming platforms.Sometimes its ok if a PC game is broken at launch because every PC is different and has different hardware,software and stuff so it might take sometime for the developers to optimize it for everyone but a console game?Thats just unacceptable!

my brother got little big planet 3 at the midnight launch. and guess what...... its broken. it doesn't work properly, we can't download our backwards compatible DLC. the game has crashed twice now, on our 2 gameplay sessions. and the quest menu is broken. i am so sick and tired of developers releasing games in these states. its unbelievable and unacceptable, and anyone who defends this bull, should be SLAPPED in the face!

I'm sorry, but when 9 out of 10 players play the multiplayer more than the single player and that shit isn't working properly, people are gonna get pissed period. Who cares if you like the single player more? That still doesn't mean game Gamer is not a fan of the single player but after you're done with that then what?? Oh yeah that's right you play multiplayer, too bad you can't in the MCC because that shit is straight up broken. Xbox players are still waiting 3-6 hours for matchmaking to work and it's been two weeks now. So much for that day one patch 343 was supposed to send out.
