And just in the same way as we built the hype throughout those games, we built on the lore, nothing crazy at first. With the dark aether I feel like we've been thrown into the deep end, the very next game we get 4 tribes and elder gods and warriors and whatnot, it's hard to keep up. It really just feels (to me) like they want to create something just as good as the aether story but don't want to do the slow build-up that is required. Alright so richtofen and samantha are there, understandable. The dark aether is like an outbreak, no problem. This is how it happens, alright. Big bad of the story, cool. They end up defeating the big bad, awesome. There were actually 4 elder gods who are now in control of the dark aether again and they have trapped parts of the world, there's also this bad guy who can raise the dead, alright slow down a little. These artifacts bind an elder god to a person and 4 people have bound themselves to the elder gods and are getting help from them so they can defeat whatever the hell his name was, what? I'm not even done processing the first part of the story!

At first, I was somewhat annoyed that there weren't more tie-ins with the original Aether storyline. This video made me realize that this is the WaW-BO1 stage. It's the slow burn part of people saying, fun gamemode, the story is disjointed though, which people said back in WaW and BO1. Now I just want the next step that really solidifies its connection in the Aether multiverse.

Dr Monty and Shadowman concocted everything. Dr Monty architect the design of the Parallel Universe to Aether to connect both in the sample from the Apothicons and Agarthans. Shadowman specifically engineered the biomass and resolute of both Human to be receptible to Aether so that when they can find a host to possess (Zykov), they will not only corrupt him but bond with him as his subconscious. Their main goal is to consume the very essence of Time and Space to become the supreme ruler of the multiverse. But they did not take into account that Eddie is planning something behind the scenes since he is the only one who knows what happened in the Aether timeline and the reason why he still has memories of them while Samantha doesn't remember anything.

I've got so many questions, like how this new universe could have already been making contact with the Dark Aether back in its Bronze Age even though by CW it's only 30something years old (Samantha and Eddie are both adults). I wish treyarch would release a game that was purely zombies and includes all old maps remastered. Would be cool to play on one game instead of having to buy all games and map packs. Primus Richtophen was pretty much the mastermind of the whole story after he was introduced

The reason maxis is being infected differently could be a few different things. One, her blood is special from multiversal travel as we’ve seen this from primis richtofen, it could be from the fact that she is from a foreign world, it could be due to 115 exposure, which has been shown to not be in this universe making her 1 of a kind, or it’s due to her previous exposure to the dark aether.
