It is now July 2024 and Spitfire has completely re-designed their plug-in and interface. It is SO MUCH EASIER to use now. Tht grey type on a white background was blinding me and I was avoiding spitfire products because of it! Of course, the sound of eh instruments is AMAZING!

I find the "treated" samples in LABS to be great. For more "straight" quality sounds you can't beat Spitfire's basic free BBC Orchestra. 🎹🎵🎶

LABS is ace. It’s an idea inspiring tool. Some in this video I haven’t tried yet, getting on that! I’ve used the London sounds on a few songs to the point where it’s become a bit of a theme, there is a track on all good streaming sites to see how I used it to give the verses some ambience and interest. If interested it’s called Octobersong by Wildsmiths. Great vid Patrick.

I have these on PC and I fully agree, they are excellent. So many great sounds that put a number of paid products to shame. It's a pity they don't work on ios, or at least I don't think they do.

Mac and Windows but obviously only Mac applies for GB. Last time I checked they didn't work on ios. Hopefully that'll be fixed in the future.

You use the Spitfire program to install the separate LABS instruments.

Downloaded soft piano to my MacBook Pro. What a mess. Can’t open without getting alert saying to use this audio unit in GarageBand I have to “lower security settings.” What is that about?

Happens all the time with third party plugins. As long as you’re happy the plugin was downloaded from a trustworthy source (Spitfire Audio are one of the biggest sample library producers in the world) you can lower security settings to gain access.

Nyeh. They're not that good. Samples are inconsistent across the keyboard, with noticable loop points, and dynamics are lacking. Not to mention the plugin interface being buggy and poorly designed.
