Wish this video existed last winter when i changed my worn out bits laying on my garage floor. I was, for the most part, using my imagination to get bits i couldn't see off. Sadly i couldn't get to either part at the gearbox end

Yes you can run your oem knob. Just select oem rod (it's almost same size as medium).

You cannot use the self centering shifter with an smg unit due to some key differences in the mechanisms

Kinda wish y’all had a photo of where the boots land on the shift rods. Also when selecting the rod for the oem version of the supreme shifter, the oem carbon isnt an option, only black and bare.

CF is the lst thing you'd want for a shift rod. Make that s**t as heavy as can be. Mine is stock, and filled with lead. Make for a much better feel when heavy.

A light rod makes it seem like all knobs are weighted since all the weight is at the top. Has a nice momentum to it since it's top heavy.

Everyone has a different preference. At first I bought into the hype of weighted shift knobs and levers, but eventually I realized I prefer a very light assembly. To me, a light knob and rod provide the most feel, and the most responsive movement of the shifter. But I get why people like the heavy ones 👍
