I'm 60 yrs old, I suffered from severe depression a while back, I did not know who these guys were, I did not know all the lyrics, but when this chorus would ring out with that powerful vocal " WAKE UP" it would open my eyes, I could put things in the right place. Also the line "IT GETS DARKER THAN THIS" would strike a cord. Lost my parents before I was a teenage, and my best friend in a car accident before I was 20 and many friends and a couple of partners( co-workers) in underground mining. It was just the other day once again this song came up on the radio , and finally I looked them up. WOW!!!! Thank you to " The Glorious Sons" Powerful lyrics and music, I wish you guys all the success in the world!!

The Sons hit the nail on the head it's a shout out to people in depression that there's better places. He's telling you to stick around It will change. Doesn't even matter if it gets better or stays the same but, my brother's and sisters it will change. Tomorrow is a new day. Can it get worse? Possibly but there are cycles. Reserve your soul for the creator don't let yourself slide into this world. This world is temporary. Look up and have faith and you will be fine.

This song came out when I was going through a divorce, and was going to really, really dark places. I used to listen to it on repeat at night every night before I fell asleep to push back my demons for the night. This is probably one of those life saver songs.
@specialeeffexx2 жыл бұрын
I just added it to my FreedomFest playlist that I'm listening to while I go over the divorce papers again before my appt with an attorney! My story is full of guilt demons because my drug addict kidS broke his heart when they took our grandkids away 4 yrs ago and he's never been the same. I just retired and decided I'm either going to buy a camper and travel North America or pack a bag and travel around Europe/Scandinavia!? Maybe both! I'll def be listening to this song and the other FreedomFest songs on my journey! I hope freedom is treating YOU well Sean!

The first time was @ Crocks on October 4th 2014 (they were the special guests of Airbourne) and then they headlined at the Auditorium on November 19 2018. The Beaches opened up for them..Their March 23rd 2020 concert at the Auditorium has been postponed doe to the Virus..It would have featured TGS with Black Pistol Fire..

I discovered this band one night while enjoying some magic mushrooms. This was a happy accident, due to the fact that I was listening to Blue October and the song Start a war on everything popped up. The video was really cool to watch in the State of mind in wich I was in. Then Sawed off shotgun came on and I was hooked. For being a Canadian band they seriously kick-ass. So to the guys in the band " Your a excellent and very talented group and I hope you can handle the game and not fall apart. Keep up the awesome work and I wish you all the best. Thanks again from a new fan in America. Not bad for some northern boys."

Just have to say - you guys certainly are making a truly amazing name for yourselves. I am a born n raised Kingston girl who never really grooved to the Tragically Hip. The Hip has had a great run in the music industry and they will always be the grand daddy of Kingston bands to make it big. Now that they are retired and Gordie has passed its true time to showcase our next greatest hometown talent - THE GLORIOUS SONS are straight up the best Canadian rock band today and many days to come KEEP ON ROCKIN BOYS

You know the night, is our addiction, It feels right, in the blaze of the stars, And that's cause we, spend too much time thinkin' Lookin' to find a place, better than where we are They got a red flag, for the beast in me, And they'll feel and file the burns beneath my feet, I'll let it burn, Wake up, Come on and catch a little lightning, There's darker places than this, There's darker places than this. Wake up, Come on and catch it in the thunder, There's darker places than this, there's darker places than this, It felt right, you know the satisfying burn, Of the fear, we all grew to learn, And we wait for something, anything to happen at all, Oh we wait for something, anything to happen at all, Wake up, Come on and catch a little lightning, There's darker places than this, There's darker places than this. Wake up, Come on and catch it in the thunder, There's darker places than this, there's darker places than this, And we wait for something, anything to happen at all, They got a red flag, for the beast in me, And they'll feel and file the burns beneath my feet, Wake up, Come on and catch a little lightning, There's darker places than this, There's darker places than this.
