I'm from the same club as Mhairi Maclennan and know her as a superb runner and ambassador for our sport. However, I have only recently learned about the abuse she was subjected to by a coach in our club, which is shocking. I wholeheartedly support the Kyniska Advocacy initiative that she has co-founded. Girls and women should be able to participate in sport at all levels, without fear or abuse on any level. She's so right: we need all of us to be involved and supportive. Thank you so much for sharing.

BTW, why is the news angle that the event (e.g. women's rugby) is new, to build intrigue? I may be missing something, but as an athlete, just seeing sporting excellence is spellbinding enough.
