If you haven’t already, use a bit of thread lock on the hugger bolts. A word to the wise, they can come loose and ruin your tire!
@TheGorillaBiker4 жыл бұрын
Hilariously the bolts that are on the inside that could come loose to the wheel have long since migrated somewhere....I replaced them and thread locked them but great advice for anyone else watching this! :)

Yep, couldn't agree more. Already upgraded the shocks on my magna and did a video review on them :) Hagon shocks are great! Sadly with the UK leaving the EU buying anything from Hagon is going to be so expensive for me now. And Ireland doesn't really have any shock manufacturers

Glad you had a go before me,l have had the same idea to change the shock,l tend to ride on the quick side and the bike tends to get out of shape when you are pushing on One thing l might of missed how much does the replacement shock cost. Nice to see someone doing cbf videos Keep them coming 👍
@TheGorillaBiker4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the original shock just isn't great at all! I found it the same pushing on in corners and such just not very solid. I may have forgotten to say it! I just checked my receipt, 540 pounds including delivery for the one with the remote adjuster. So about 570 odd euro I think I paid all together. I will do :)
@dderbyshire97354 жыл бұрын
@@TheGorillaBiker thank you for getting back to me ,that bit expensive Look forward to seeing you on a test ride Cheers Dave

No problem :) The non remote adjust one is a good bit cheaper, I just knew I'd be keeping this bike so I didn't mind the investment :) should have it out soon! :)

Hey new to the cbf1000. How do you change the height adjustment. I know theres 3 setting. Thanks. Love in the vids
@TheGorillaBiker2 жыл бұрын
You have to remove the seat and then adjust the frame.under the seat. Be warned at the highest setting there's a noticeable gap between the tank and seat

Why not drop the swingarm and pivot and clean, check (replace if needed) and lube the bearings and change the seals when you changed the shock?

Because I needed to ride the bike about 15 minutes later. And I didn't want to I suppose.

Oh man it looks like so much work. I really need to do my shock. I'm just going to pay someone to do it. As far as your "temper tantrum" goes.... Oh man you are so in control. I literally yelled at a co-worker yesterday and lost my shit. You are a prince among thieves. Love your work. So cool you have a work space for your bikes man. When did you record this? A month ago?

I think you could do it :) Part of the complication on this one was the size and weight of the bike! hello brother! I live in Turkey. I have a cbf 1000. How much does the new suspension cost and how can I get it?
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Very nice :) This variant with the remote adjuster was about 500 euro I think, but the standard one is cheaper, you can buy them at Hagon www.hagon-shocks.co.uk/ , just email or call them before you order to get it set correctly for your weight.

another great vid :D i think manufacturers do things just to be annoying and make it more awkwards for home mechanics to do work. all your missing now is a little pot belly stove in their lol you have a sofa :p well my car is sorted after the breakdown, well mostly... i have one of the first dusters with the electric power steering... the wires for the electric windows had rubbed against the power steering wires and had eventually shorted out... new window regulator as this had failed too.. shame lockdown happened as it would of happened earlier and the car would of still been inside the 5 year warranty period... but meh, window reg is only a main dealer part, so thats been ordered, the power steering and all the blown fuses has been sorted out anyhow. it got me 4 days off from my course lol
@TheGorillaBiker4 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) They definitely do, I think it'd be very easy to have made that a 10 minute job with a bit of design. Haha myself and the father were looking at some form of stove :) Christ! Glad it's sorted but that is bad luck about the warranty. It's always the way though, when I bought my old car it was 3 weeks out of warranty when the catalytic convertor blocked and destroyed some other things too on the way out. Sad times.
@mrElpacas4 жыл бұрын
@@TheGorillaBiker great minds think alike :D yeah a stove makes a workshop, especially on a cold day, spent many a day as a kid in workshops with my dad and they all had stoves in. aye sods law that stuff always goes wrong once the warranty is up, still its the first issue ive had with the car, so other than servicing costs and the usual insurance etc its been cheap to run, even the insurance fully comp is cheaper than when i had 3rd party on a skoda octavia...
