Greek Food & Crete Wine at Manousakis Winery - Agia Triada Monastery | Things to Do in Chania Crete

No trip to Chania / Chania Town is complete without a couple of day trips outside of the city. If you have one day to dedicate to outside Chania's historical center, we recommend heading to Agia Triada Monastery and tasting our favorite wine and Greek food at Manousakis Winery.
The Monastery of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), or Tzagarolon Monastery, is located on the Akrotiri Peninsula, north of Chania Prefecture. It is 15 kilometers from Chania, very close to Chania Airport. The Monastery's lush grounds and beautiful Byzantine architecture will also attract photo-takers looking for that perfect Instagram shot.
Be sure to stop at the Monastery's wine and olive oil shop before leaving. After visiting the Monastery take a drive to Manousakis Winery, our favorite winery in the Chania area. This family winery is beautiful, and the staff is extremely friendly. Family is important to this winery, and they welcome children to experience the winery with their parents. Outside are small bikes, with balls and space for young children to play or sit. The washrooms are equipped with baby-changing tables and a step-stool for small children. The winery provides wine tastings and food for interested guests. You have the option to taste 5 or 7 wines. The Greek food they serve up is traditionally Cretan, and we enjoyed each dish.
