send a hero all the way down to that high elf archipelago south of kugath's spawn. take a contract near there to teleport golgfag, and then take over the islands. leave that as your "home" and spend the rest of the campaign living it up doing contracts around the world.

@@ironnanimalswolfloli4303I think Dogs of War is a guarantee at this point. They can easily reuse the mechanics of the mercenary contracts and camps. With Arenessa I agree, moving her out of Vampire Coast might be tricky in dev, but I think is the best option. Minimum should be allowing her to ignore all the undead stuff and focus on non undead armies

I do also think that a possible rework if they can't remove her is to get the undead traits of her current faction to mix well with a the Dogs of war faction, become techinacly 2 factions. Overall I want my pirate girl boss to have her mercenary pirate faction actually be a mercenary pirate faction with pirate slayers and possibly any other pirate units that may come in the future. She is the Pirate Queen after all.

Holy shit CA really outdid themselves with his campaign mechanics. So unique and interesting. Just the thought of not having to do any empire building and just being a neutral party and letting the world do its thing is so fun.

I think it seems fun to have a smaller scale impact on the campaign, it gives us a new perspective that we wouldn't normally have and we can help minor factions that would normally get wiped out and see what happens. really seems to capture the merc feel which i'm looking forward to.

Ehh, the issue is the AI still doesn't really expand meaningfully in wh3. maybe they'll make the ai more aggressive. I so long for a return to the ai actually building massive empires and becoming a realistic threat

Will CA add a mechanic similar to the caravans where you gain access to units from other races? So for example after x number of victories, turns or contracts completed you get the option to fight a battle - that battle then (if won) gives you access to a certain number of units that can be recruited instantly, but have a cap on how many you can earn/field. It would be a softcore version of Dogs of War. You could come up with a reason for pretty much all the races to be included - a disgraced High Elf prince, an ambitious Dark Elf general, a "smarter" Orc/Goblin leader, etc, etc.

How do you interact with Golg as a player when you play a different faction? For example: If you are playing a Malakai or Katarina, can you hire him to take out Archaon or Astragoth? Side question: if Golg goes to war with a faction as a merc, does he also go to war with it's vassals and/or allies?

I don't think having a DoW DLC with the same contracts mechanic would be bad. But then they should give each subfaction something unique to compensate. This contract mechanic seems exactly what DoW is about anyway.

glad to see that in the research you can get more weight mass for the ogres, that's one of my favorite things about the faction is manipulating weight to an extent and charging thru infantry. The Hunters on a stonehorn or just stonehorns themselves can do ridiculous damage just charging in an out of infantry.

Although it's probably a lot of work to implement, I could see a place for a mercenary playstyle that might fit the Dogs of War (though I'm not familiar with the lore there). Perhaps combining the contracts with a full horde playstyle, so you can move around the map at will. Then add in a variant of the Warriors of Chaos recruitment pool system. Because there are always unemployed soldiers. And there's a good chance they'll soldier for fame and fortune. So you can pick up units from a number of different races. But you can only recruit units belonging to the race of your current employer. So there might be a nice selection of Empire units in your local province, but no Empire contracts to take. So you can't recruit them (at least this turn). Probably needs a lot of fleshing out, but if you combined that with the normal recruitment system of a horde, you could probably make some creative armies. And while that might be a little OP, it could also be a way to add more variety to the campaign.

The new lords seem fun but a lot of the new additions too rosters feel kinda redundant. Not sure it's gonna top Thrones of Decay for me, so far, which changed up play for dwarves/ empire/ Nurgle and warriors of chaos sooo much. Having an Ogre lord out there that is actually fun to play is cool, but let's be real, that should not have taken 2 years.

Deciding which dlc to get first is quite the conundrum. I could get Greenskins and play a Wurzhag campaign, I could get Ogres and try out the new Greasus, or I could go all in on Khorne.

I was on the fence about mercenary systems but it was implemented nicely. Still more real mercenaries from other factions would have been fun like hobgoblin wolfriders, norscans and more. I really hope with opens up the dog of war with Tilea and Estalia and finger's crossed something new and shiny like a mercenary Cathay character or a Norscan mercenary. Looking at the legendary heroes I still hope we'll see the character packs with LL and LH adding to the rooster in order to even the playing field

All three lords look like a fun time , between them , the mechanics and the new units this is an easy buy for the full DLC this go around which is lovely. Gulgcigarette Manmuncher also looks like a -great- campaign to sit back and just v i b e with instead of stressing over mass empire and economic chains/protections and warlines. Although I agree that seeing his mechanic just ripped for a future Dogs Of War DLC would be a bit stinky at the same time it's almost -exactly- what I'd WANT from Dogs as a faction mechanic so maybe they can just kind of side-grade it in to something.

There's a serious issue with Golg in multiplayer. If you're playing a FFA, and your opponent is, say, Karl (could be anyone), Golg can still get contracts from "Karl Franz". If Golg accepts it, Golg gains everything he would as if Karl were an NPC; he gains vision, the ability to teleport, and any actions done while employed by "Karl" count against Karl's reputation -- even though the real player playing as Karl did not issue the contract. CA, please fix.

A lot of people dont play realms of chaos. Personally I like the option to try both, and feel the lack of needing to programme both should have meant a bit more content, such as greenskins could do with some more unit varients, but I think im in the minority

I think that dogs of war will get the same mechanic which is kind of shame, but the mechanic is good so why invent wheel twice? What could be different are more complicated contracts. Like: conquer tis in X then move to Y and so on. Or maybe legendary contracts or something. Also I'm not a big fan of that you can grab land during contracts. That should be a no-no or written into contract. Though that's more for playing DoW. I'd love if getting landed would be a sword of khain moment for DoW. "How dare some upstarts with no legitimacy think of making a nation." Total switch from horde/camps into owning territory. Though pros from owning land would have to be great.

Mate, you need to learn the difference between AT-tribute and a-TRI-bute. The former is personal characteristics of someone (or occasionally a faction). "Their AT-tributes are six feet in height, brown hair, etc) The one you've been using, "a-TRI-bute" is for when you're saying a quote belongs to someone. Something like "The quote, like many others, is attributed to Mark Twain."
