The change from WWE 2K14 to WWE 2K15 aswell as from 2K19 to WWE 2K20 are the first ones that immediately pop into my mind.

The modern showcase is a list of instructions to minor useless details of the match. Why must I Irish Whip my opponent to the southeast turnbuckle? And then you’re watching real-life footage of the best part of the matches instead of seeing it in the video game. It’s lame AF.

The games are missing passion, heart, and soul. WWE games have become so sterile and corporate now when there used to be real love put behind them. We loved these games because you could tell the devs also loved making them. The passion from 2K and Visual Concepts is pretty non-existent, they're making a game for money, not because they love doing it (which rakes in the money anyways).

The better route is to make them biyearly but keep updating the game until the new one comes out. They won't though because money

As someone who was desperate to get GM Mode back in the game, I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in my life. Like why did they make so bad, in what world is WWE going to make me start Monday Night Raw in a high school gym with no screens or anything. They really needed use the best of everything to make one brilliant game mode, have aspects of universe mode with letting me customise the show icons and set designs, championships and PLE's even it's not for the show that I'm running. Then maybe bring back story designer and implement that to the mode so I can spend my budget buying writers and actually have interesting rivalries from community creations that I want to watch and actually play out the matches. Fix the servers and let me play online vs a friend and maybe people would actually still be playing the game before the last DLC is released. Instead they'll just focus on recycling old content into my Faction and breaking the game every single update with terrible DLC that absolutely nobody asked for. It's insane to me how much effort was put into the old games when THQ were producing them, WWE really need to look at moving away from 2K they've shown time and time again that they have zero interest in producing a product actually worth the price tag and eventually people will lose interest. I definitely want get the next game unless some serious changes are made which they already confirmed in an interview early this year won't happen.

I miss the competition parts in gm. Like whoever gets the better card gets the last match at the PPV or the winner of the rumble gets the main event of mania. A game from 2007 could do that but with today’s technology we don’t have the ability to do that anymore? Explain the logic 2k

Man I miss the Stretcher Cut Scene.... I still remember playing WWE SVR 2011 having a ladder match between Christian & Edge and after the match ends the paramedics bring the stretcher to the ringside for the loosing superstar and although it is a small thing it adds such a great value to the game... I wish they add things like these back to the game

While the story in HCTP is good, SYM was superior. HCTP had better gameplay and a better creation mode but the story mode in SYM was top tier.

HCTP was more of an original story SYM was just the stories that had happened on TV pretty much. Also ranking a CAW was incredibly slow

There were so many more branching paths in SYM that I still haven't seen them all. Mainly the shaving Kurt story, have never gotten that one to pop up. I just recently got back into wwe games, picked up 2K19 (last one I played was WWE 13 when it was new) and am having a fun time, I'm a fairly mediocre gamer so the story mode was kicking my butt a little and in order to unlock character you need the virtual currency you can get from story mode/universe mode/playing matches. Thankfully theres a way to cheat the system and get tons of Vitrual currency by doing promos in universe mode over and over and you can unlock stuff much faster. I always loved the rumbles and I was surprised to see the brought back the easy toss out and punching people off the apron eliminations from older Smackdown vs Raw games so you arnt forced to used the tedious button mashing mini game to eliminate people, its definitely makes the match more spontaneous cause at the same time computer players can reverse you and toss you out quite easily as well, it keeps you on your toes. I also like the 8 man matches they added, I like the chaos of larger matches and getting to see many wrestlers as possible.

The first SVR wasn't a bad game, it just wasn't as good as HCTP, but it did introduce new features like the camera angle we are all familiar with, better graphics, mini games per match and was the foundation for the elite SVR 06

Wwe2k25 needs to have my career mode be more like a season mode and mix it into universe mode as well so u can play, get some cutscenes with voice overs etc but you actually have to play for a long time in game years before u can retire, once u beat it all you can create a story and still play universe mode which also should lead into a road to wrestle mania mode with roman reigns, Cody Rhodes , Kevin Owens, and a legend like stone cold. Finally they need to do a showcase that is not super deep, but it unlocks characters. Cm punk showcase and just for fun bring back beat taker at mania

I definitely think one of the downgrades is the lack of a Created Superstar Wrestlemania. I played SvR 2010, and enjoyed how my own created superstar got into a beef with Santino Marella and eventually got into hot water with Mr. McMahon and beat his ass in front of thousands and humiliated his ass with a chicken helmet and made him do the chicken dance in front of the crowd and everything. Heck, before even starting the mode, you could pick preset voices for your character to use in the road to Wrestlemania, and some really set the tone of your character in going from being a crowdwatcher to being a superstar.

I just got Smackdown vs Raw 2006, 2008, and 2010 for the PS2 this Christmas. The controls in these compared to 2k19, 2k16, and 2k24 confused me. Like triangle to run(and if you hold it you run over and hop up on stuff like the announce tables, barricades, and top rope), L2 to reverse normal moves and L2+R2 to reverse finishers, and square doesn't do nothing. I do like how L1 is to do a finisher. It was my first wrestling game so I'm probably biased, but I love 2K19's controls alot more than the new 2Ks, and the older WWE games.
