If you turn your camp chef on high and flip the pizza stone over it will clean it for you. It will burn off all of the leftover food and then you can just wipe it clean with a dry towel. Flip back over and you are ready to go. They also say to not use a brush on the stones.

I have the pellet pizza oven and love it. Get the stone to around 500 degrees and put pizza in. You let it cook for about 1 minute and rotate a quarter turn. Do that 4 times and you will have the fastest and delicious pizza ever.

Pizzas looked great guys! Get a metal peel to retrieve the pizza from the oven, it will be easier to get it out and turn the pizza than with the wooden peel.

Looks delicious guys, even the shrimp scampi pizza. I found a jar of pickled garlic at the market and tried it on a pizza, it was awesome.

I have two Camp Chef Pizza ovens. 10" diameter pizza is the max. Corn meal is key. Get an infrared heat gun, the stone should be between 500-550 degrees for "artisan" crust pizza, a bit lower if you are cooking a deeper crust. I usually shoot for the ambient temp of mine to be 550-600 degrees for the perfect artisan pizza. Also, more toppings and cheese does not always mean more flavor. More weight makes it more difficult to get off of a pizza peel. 4-5 minutes = done and awesome

I use a wooden peel to put mine in the oven and a thin flat metal one to turn or remove it. I also have an ooni pizza oven as I like to have some actual flames in the oven. My longest cook is usually 90 seconds after heating the oven to around 950° (which takes around 15 minutes) then turning the flame as low as possible by pushing the control valve knob in and turning it counter clockwise past the off position. They don't tell you that trick in the instructions. There's definitely a little bit of a learning curve in pizza making and cooking. I prefer a higher hydration dough and a thin crisp crust. I also prefer to use semolina to keep the dough from sticking to the work surface and peel.

Wow. good job on the griddle pizza, Jeff. Nate, your dough tossing skills are legit, but you have a lot to learn about cooking in the pizza oven. I know because I ruined my first pizza in my Blackstone pizza oven and my knowledge is hard-won. Yes, get the temp right, I can't help you here, you'll have to dial it in yourself, but if you want to use that much cornmeal, you'll have to clean the stone between cooks because that meal will scorch at pizza oven temperatures. I use a long handled scraper to loosen the burned material and then battery powered blower to clear it out. I also use a welding glove when performing this procedure. Personally, I think beginners should par-bake their crust for 90 seconds so that they don't have to use much corn meal or flower to get the dough to slide off the peel. Then allow the crust to cool for 5 mins and build the pizza from there. I could go on for another 2 pages, but that's enough for now.

Impressive looking pizzas! I give Nate a lot of credit that was pretty cool!! Also I agree with Jeff, seafood on a pizza is legit. The White Clam Pizza from Pepe's in New Haven CT is pretty good. If you're ever down there I highly consider giving it a try.

Got a question about the pizza oven. Do you think there's a way to add a little smoker box to the set up to give the pizza a little extra "wood fired oven" flavor?
@TheGriddleGuys2 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, I would have to say... Not easily. You would likely have to fabricate something to sit above the flame but below the oven. I can't see an easy way to do this. An alternative might be to put the pizza in a pellet smoker for a few minutes then add to the oven. Hope this helps! -N

@TheGriddleGuys3 жыл бұрын
Its a toss up, no pun intended. They are both good and IMO neither imparts a significant difference in flavor to say 1 is better. My personal preference is to re-heat a cold pizza on the griddle in a little oil cuz you can make the crust crazy crispy :-) -N

Awesome videos, these guys are hilarious, and the size of that pecker, dang……love my camp chef stoves and over, have more than I can use. We did pizzas for my sons graduation party, about 50, if was a great time and can’t say how much I like the system. Everyone is making one now but that’s the one I like. Also, there’s lots of thinner peels and spatulas as well as turning forks for your stone cooked pizza, at least for those beginners out there. Rock on y’all. If you ever get a chance to put on some real Hatch Green out of New Mexico, you’ll never go back haha 😂😂😂
