There should be a large sign up reminding tourists that these are not waxworks but highly trained soldiers and horses who deserve respect as they are, literally, the Guards of the Monarch.

WHY WHY WHY do the officials allow the public to not only stand close to the beautiful horses causing extreme chaos whist photos are being taken. and allowing Hundreds of photos to be taken every minute / hour every day. Those poor horses must be absolutely fed up. Why are the public allowed to cause such chaos around the horses? Why can’t the horses stand behind wrought iron fences. A special area could be put aside where horses could take it in turns for the photographs with the humans standing near to them. It would reduce all absolute chaos that we are witnessing now. @jwsuicides. The uniforms worn by our soldiers have been worn for hundreds of years and I find them to be very smart . Our guardsmen display amazing patience with sometimes difficult tourists who have no knowledge of the history of the Lifeguards and probably have no more interest than to have their photos taken. People watching should remember these are serving soldiers and after this ceremonial duty may well be deployed to dangerous locations and conflicts . My regards.

Is it just me, or are the police keeping a much closer watch over the guards? I'm starting to wonder if threats have been made, or something; or is it just because the tourists are becoming increasingly obnoxious? It's quite clear the military personnel are keeping a close watch of all the videos, and reading comments. Not criticising (it would no doubt come under threat assessment), just saying.

The entitled rudeness and disrespect that is displayed by people today is astounding. I suspect that is why a more obvious security stance is being taken lately. I watch a lot of these videos and there is one thing that is pretty clear about the policy in the UK. There is too much tolerance with public behavior which is encouraging worse behavior. The authorities can have a gentle nudge against this problem now, or they will have to fight it violently in the future when it passes the tipping point. Some of the people in these videos deserve to go to jail for assault and disturbing the peace. I'm sure it's the same as in the US where the prosecutor or judge does not want to enforce the written laws and have their own brand of legislative power.

I agree with most of the comments below, these are serving soldiers, not pinups. Today most people do not respect anyone let alone police and serving officers. They seem to think that these guards are just there for photo opportunities and will push in front of others, for their own right to have a photo taken. We need to bring back good manners, I do realise that most of these folk are not English speaking but perhaps we need to have the written word in many languages ie the horse may bite or kick up if you are too close. The other thing is that the tour guides must understand the history that is behind the Kings Guard. That is the first thing that has to happen, the guides must know and impart this to the folk that they are guiding.

If the people at the top stopped allowing tourists to touch the horses then the police and guards would be able to enforce that rule. It’s time for taking charge off the situation, be official’s and the police as well as the guards and other military officers. Stop being nice and start being more severe, most of this people are bost around at their own country and that is what they need. So give orders just like too the guards, loud and clear what is aloud and what is not. This are the rules and if you ignore them you can be ask too leave or got a ticket from the police. Not learning the nice and soft way than the hard and severe way, it’s military space your on, and already lucky that you may visit it. But also visitors have too behave and keep the rules just like at home, if not you are not longer welcome. And no warning that horses me bite or kicking, they will find out when coming too close 😊😊😊😊😊
