A great summary even for a browning collector. I’ve had my 325 since 1992 and it has many thousands of shells though it. Finally two years ago the bottom barrel stopped firing. I took the stock off and de-gummed it and it’s rocking on! I just cannot wear it out. Would be great to hear more about the different B25 configurations which still confuse me. Also of course the Auto 5. One of the earliest and no doubt greatest semi auto ever made.

I just bought a B26, made in 1976 but feels like new. Faux 3 piece forend, exhibition chequering, oddball engraving, plain wood. Balances well, with 30" barrels. A gun for life, all for £750! Can't wait to try it tomorrow.

I've just bought a 325 in auction, it dates from 1987 a year before they were officially released (dated from serial number) It has 28" barrels, Invector chokes, game scene (pheasant & ducks) 2 3/4" chamber. Horrible brown rubber vented recoil pad. Thanks for this video Jonny, interesting to learn that some years over lapped on release, helped me clear up whether I had a 325 or not. Keep up the great video's.

I own a couple of older citoris in grade V and like them a lot. I looked at the Brownings only offered in the UK and they are much more attractive than our US models. Don’t know who styles their guns now, but their last job must have been in ladies apparel. Looking at the Cynergys made my eyes bleed.

John Browning designed the first over and under. The Superposed over and under. I love my 725 Feather 12 gauge over under with a 26 inch barrel weighing just 6 pounds and 7 ounces. Inflex recoil pad and extended Invector-Plus DS chokes. A improved modified and light full are my pick and mechanical trigger not inertia as the 525 has.

Excellent review. In the mid-1980s I bought a 20 and 12 gauge Citori, each used for $500 . After about 20 years of heavy use the safety does sometimes slide in between over and under and will not engage, so I had a gunsmith pin the safety so the safety is reliable and the under barrel always shoots first. After 38 years of heavy hunting use, the Citori served me well and I use it for waterfowl up here in Alaska, then wintering in Montana I use it every day with my extended upland season

A lot of what we see in the World Cup are not guns purchased by the shooter but rather sponsored shooters. I have no doubt Browning guns are capable of taking those titles if only Brownings budget extended to sponsorship of decent talent!

Good God Johnny, stop and take a breath!👍 An informative if somewhat rushed video. I look forward to your videos and those of country way gun shop. Both parties having a bit of a ‘thing’ for Brownings’ and Mirokus’. Your combined videos’ have been influential enough that I recently purchased a B525 Sporter One, though I still haven’t shot it!😱 Please consider a video on easy improvements to low to mid end guns. In a previous video for instance you talked about improving a Miroku Sporter, but didn’t mention how to improve it in detail. Thank you.

Very good video ... a lot of info ... Now at 1:23 you have John Browning holding what I believe is a Remington Model 17 ... that was the basis for the Ithaca Model 37 that is still in production today ... and the Browning "BPS" ... so the Model 17 was the Grandfather ... and I have one ... and it is one of my favorite hunting guns. I went to O/U's because the Game Wardens would always want to check my pumps and semi's wasting valuable hunting time ... ( we got stop 5X's ... the 6th time I went off on them and pulled all the previous Wardens' business cards out ... and shamed the guy ... " do you talk to each other ??? Call One !!!" So always get a Warden's Business Card ... The O/U stopped most of that ... and they are sweet to shoot !!!

I just don’t get the hole Browning shotgun allure??? I ordered and Bought the American 725 “Pro” Sport after being talked into it by all the Browning guys around my club. They might be robust and shoot well, but they are Not as refined and elegant as the Italian guns I’ve handled and shot. I also don’t get the ported barrels, as many of the non-ported guns I shot seamed to have no more or even less perceived recoil. No written warranty and hard to get ahold of and deal with customer service. I should have gotten a Caesar Guerini or even the Fabarm Elos N2. If your in the US market and want a Browning, I would Not recommend the “Pro” Sporting model, but to save the money and get the standard 725 or something Italian.

Thanks for another fascinating video. I would second the idea of an in-depth Auto 5 video dealing with different eras as I have two of them from the early 60s (one mint and one well-used) and they both shoot brilliantly, but from what I have read that was the golden era for Auto 5s. Any chance you could help me on a older Citori question...the gun is made in 1980 (PM in the serial #) and ends with "173" . This signifies "Hunter" but the gun has a grade 5 hand engraved receiver (very ornate) with 3 pheasants on one side and 3 ducks on the other. 28ga. with an English straight stock. Nice wood. Trying to figure out approximate value...but some details dont jive with the various models circa 1980. maybe it is a special order gun?

I have finally come around to my Browning 725 Pro Sporting, but I would never buy it again either. Browning guns are chunky, utilitarian, but a good work horse. Where the Italian guns feel way more refined, classy, and feel smoother to me. They seem to swing and handle better too. The safeties are nicer on Italian Gun’s too. The citori cx, cxs and cxt are the old tried and true citori action same as the 625 and older models. The 725 is a totally new redesigned action that is more trim in about every dimension and weight. The 725 feels a tad more beretta like as far as handling goes in my opinion. I didn’t like the way it handled and ended up getting a citori cxs with adjustable comb and love it. The cynergy however is completely different from either. Definitely not a citori.

Hopefully someone can help me out... just getting in to shooting (clays). Looking at options for my first second hand gun, I'm a big lad, 6'5 and 17st, so I quite like bulkier guns like Browning and Miroku. I've got a budget of up to £700. What gun should I get? I want either a Browning or a Miroku, but I'm all ears!! Whilst I only shoot clays at the moment, I want to get in to pest control as I work on farms, ironic given the current circumstances with NE! But if anyone has any recommendations regarding what they think might suit me and why, or what model of Browning or Miroku is best for my budget, it would be greatly appreciated!

Seeing as you are a giant, you are going to need most guns extended and probably cast off as well. This can be somewhere from £2-300 so leaves 4-500 for the gun. For that, I would look for a Lanber or Bettinsoli second hand, or perhaps a new Yildiz.

12:20 .....525 and Citori was wonderful,......unless you owned a 16ga. Firing pins and springs were and are the bane of this shotgun. Browning will not even warranty breakage or will put you on back-order. Which WILL be forever. 7:35......At least you (barely) mentioned the BT 99. Best shotgun I ever shot. Standard dimension gun and it fit me like a pair of well-used driving gloves. Shot my best score in trap with that gun, and I had to borrow it . 14:11.......I own 2 older Zolis and they are excellent game killers, as long as you fit the gun to you. Mine wears a Morgan Adjustable recoil pad set 1 3/4 inches high and 3/4 inch to the left. Ugly crap cousin. I don't worry about HOW the weapon looks, but look at how well it shoots. Case in point: 1953 Tula SKS. Iron sights out to 240 yards. 8 out of 10 on 8 inch steel. I am a decent shot. Not good or exceptional. Just got a good rifle. It is ugly as heck, but will put them downrange where I want them. 1900 FN Herstal bolt in 6.5. Rebarreled to 300 Savage. Kicks like a mule but is a 2 MOA rifle with peep sights. 300 Savage was the parent cartridge for the NATO 308. Ruger Mark 3. Ugly little pistol, but shoots as well as my Browning Buckmark. AK's are ugly, but my Century Arms WASR is a tack driver out to 120 meters with my Primary Arms ACSS scope. Even the Buckmark is ugly when you compare it to the lines of the Colt Woodsman or the more refined S&W 41. At the end......you get what you pay for. If you have deep pockets, ........buy hand fitted and tailored to you Italian guns. If you are like most people, ........shop around and find what fits you. Take it out to the range and see how well it shoots. Then lay the money down. It is the nut behind the recoil pad which defines accuracy. I can shoot most anything well. Good to exceptional weapons make the range times so much more fun. You get what you pay for.
