I've had both a Browning 525 and a Beretta 686 and I couldn't hit toffee with the browning, the Beretta fitted straight away, much smoother recoil also. Browning traded in after a month, been a Beretta user ever since, upgraded to the DT10 several years back and never needed or wanted to change.
@mikeblast75073 жыл бұрын
I have a 12 gauge silver pigeon 1 field model. My wife has a 20 gauge 725 browning sport. Both are very different guns in the way they feel, handle, and shoot. At 1k more, the Browning is the fancier gun. That said, I really like them both, but probably prefer the Baretta just slightly (and that could just be the difference in gauge and heft). I'm not an expert on these things, but I'm also extremely impressed by the fit and finish of the browning, and the quality of the wood.

Quite enjoyable video. Many good points made. Eye dominance can be a bit difficult to overcome. I did use a "blinder" for my left ear while learning to shoot right hand while recovering from a chest injury. I did manage a 21 with a 20 gauge during that time. Sadly I've only managed a 23 on two occasions LH with a 12 gauge. Are there two different speeds for skeet there?

The main difference between them is the weight between your hands. With the Browning the action is heavier and the (perceived) weight less in the stock and (particularly with fixed chokes) the barrels. the Beretta has a more even weight balance. Its not that one is wrong or one right, but that difference explains a lot of the personal preference.

The Beretta! You can get extra barrels and have them fitted more easily than a Browning. You can get 28 gauge barrels to fit a 20 gauge frame and get 410 gauge barrels fitted to the 28 gauge frame. Cost about $1200 here in the US

Over the years I've shot American Trap with 3 different Browning Citoris. Tried a Beretta and at that time to me the action felt like a toy it was so small. Stayed with Browning. Once I held and shouldered a 725 Sporting Clays model I fell in love. The receiver is smaller than a standard Citori but feels solid and the gun points so well. I prefer mechanical triggers from shooting a Remington 3200 Special Trap model many years back. The Rem 3200 was a wonderfully comfortable design and I find the Browning 725 reminds me of that fit. Also have a 686 in 20 and 12 gauge both with adjustable comb stocks that need some fine tuning for fit. While very close to fitting they are off just a bit and I'm still experimenting with the cast on the combs. I brought my first gun just over a year ago a 686e having tried that and a browning I just found although both did fit me and I broke clays with both the beretta just felt better in my hands. A lot of it is mental, having confidence in your tools. If the gun feels good in your hands swings nicely and most importantly fits you then you shouldn’t have an issue. Although you do hear about new gun very occasionally syndrome where people who buy a new gun really like it the first few times they use it and can’t find fault as it’s brand new and looks pretty then when the novelty wears off they realise it doesn’t actually fit them that well and they made a mistake in buying it

Found myself shotgun-less and needed something for sporting clays and skeet- liked the feel of a new Beretta 686 SP1 32" sporter so I bought it. What a lemon! The receiver and barrels are miss-aligned causing binding on closing and the receiver has a cleft on one inside edge where it hits the monoblock and the monoblock is all scratched and banged up on that side. The USA official Beretta warranty gunsmiths looked at it and said " nothing we can do- send it back to Beretta"! Beretta , of course, do not answer any of my emails or calls- I will NEVER buy Beretta again, their QC sucks right now. Not happy at all! Back to Browning ASAP!

Remove the stock, make a new, fitted one and enjoy your new super gun with a cost just a bit more than a new gun! @@tgsoutdoors naw its gotta be an impulse buy. I want to just see it and not think about it. If I stew on it while I wait 3-4 weeks, ill have thought of a reason why I don't need it or watched too many videos on youtube about it

I seem to remember in one of Lloyd's older vids he says he likes a big lump of a gun. Me too. Berettas (in my limited experience) feel very light and toy like to me. And he likes BMW over Audi too. The man is clearly a genius.

And the winner is Miroku, an mk38 sport or mk10 sport, better guns than a 525, last a lifetime and are cheaper than both, 686 for me is overpriced for a grade 1 packet gun
