This is one of the only Franchi reviews I could find even though I really liked the Franchi Instinct LX. It is really so so so so hard to find an O/U that’s completely neutral

For what it's worth I have a Franchi Alcione that I bought several years ago with an extra 20gauge barrel. My son used the gun to shoot Clay's and probably put 20,000 rounds through the gun. It's a great shooter and has held up well.

Franchi gun is around $1500 - 1800... a couple hundred bucks more, I think one can own a good 2nd hand Beretta 68x lineup... or a brand new baretta 690 field 1 which around $2600ish? but for 1st gun, it is suitable indeed I reckon.

John -- this newbie to sporting clays from Texas enjoys your KZbin videos -- though your style of speech is marked by you dropping your voice to to a near whisper. Please be aware that, even with excellent hearing -- and straining to listen -- with dedicated focus -- at times, your voice is lost. BTW -- Have you a review on [or opinion of] the new Weatherby Orion o/u? As a side -- As a senior - starting this sport so late in life -- your "half of a lifetime" likely is the gauge for "the rest of my lifetime" --

Well I bought my FRANCHI Instinct L slightly used from my shooting buddy for $600. and, being 78 I'm sure it will last MY lifetime. ;o) Now to buy a few more Beretta chokes for it. THANKS for this objective review. After listening to it I agree, mine needs a brass front bead. Hi-viz plastic beads are for my Benelli M1 semi-auto and duck hunting.

I'm a lover of the sub £1000 gun. I'm not one for fancy priced beretta or browning.. I buy the gun.. not the name. I've been thinking about buying this gun. Or Lincoln premier gold, or webley and scot 1000 series. Maybe even a cogswell and harrison. Any thoughts.. anyone??

That is another good looking gun. How does it compare value wise against Turkish guns like Huglu? I was looking at a Bettinsoli the other day, I think it was called a diamond line, and it had a hi-viz sight-type thing too. I like little brass studs, they look right somehow!

I would usually say that the cheaper italian guns are better than the Turkish guns, they might not be as pretty for the money, but they are usually made of good quality materials.
