I so wish I could've met Grant before he passed. He was my biggest inspiration as well, I remember as a kid dropping all my schoolwork to watch anytime he posted a new video. I watched that video of you and him walking the shop and talking KZbin when it came out back in the day, trying to take notes for my channel. It's one of the great honors of my life to get to make videos for his channel today. He really was the KING - Jake

Hawkeye. All of the ideas are great, but James, you've worked so hard to create a space for all these amazing minds to explore their ideas, it's important that you do that too. Also, even if the bow didn't end up being a product on the hacksmith store, it seems like it would be a build within reach of the average home maker that doesn't have the setup needed for some of the other ideas. It would be great to see how you did it and be able to replicate/ innovate the idea from home.

When i first started watching i thought No brainer, iron man suit obviously But as you started talking about all these projects i could see the potential in all of them. But the thing that got me the most. As soon as you mentioned grants name i started tearing up, from the second i saw his smiling face, and how he called you not to collab, but to congratulate you on 1 million truly broke my heart. When you talked about how he was asking you to join him for para gliding and how you declined, i could instantly see, and feel your regret. James, what happened wasn’t your fault, we all wish we could be their for our loved ones or stop something terrible that happened (maybe I’m just misinterpreting that but based on the tears it seemed like the regret was based on not being able to stop what happened or not being there for him in his last moments before his unfortunate accident.) The iron man suit would be incredible and is probably what will win out. But honoring your friend and mentor. I think that should be the big project you focus on Rest in peace grant. It was around the time everyone asks you what you want to be when you grow up, I was on the fence about a lot of things, but then I discovered your channel and similar ones like Colin Furze, Jay Lazer, and of course, Grant from TKOR. It was when I saw that it was possible for guys in their garage to make their dreams come true, I knew I wanted to be an inventor. Hawkeye is an; "ONLY and ONLY if it stays James' project and he release it once he's satisfied." This is a project that helped his mental heath, it need to stay like this. Otherwise it risk strengthening his feeling that work projects take too much over passion ones. I actually think it could be nice to have smaller scale personal projects from time to time. The kind that were made for fun rather than work. With no set deadlines or business behind. Also if you're able to make the paragliding trip happen, DO IT! It might not be the kind of content I subbed for, but for Grant, I would watch. He was also one of my hero and his departure was painful. Mark 1 would be a great big project, and I'm sure everyone would love a video on the original MCU Iron Man suit. Exosckeleton, flame throwers, even a wrist rocket (like a firework or flare?), it is all stuff that can actually be made (and in some cases you already did), especially after discovering the real life adamantium stuff. Hawkeye: bringing a project of passion to the video always makes it special, besides, with the Hawkeye bow and his special arrows, you could try to make the cool automatic quiver he has to complete the ultimate Hawkeye build. Can't wait for whatever project wins this, I'm sure it'll be great, keep it up guys!

Hawkeye! Dang, I'm so sorry to hear about Grant - that section of the episode hit extra deep because of the strong emotions visible in your voice and your every move. Hearing that Hacksmith Industries is struggling right now makes me very sad indeed - I hope you all are able to power through these tough times okay: best wishes always! I have an idea for a couple of possible videos - I know you probably won't see these, and that the chances of you doing them are extremely remote, but I just wanted to put them out there for you. 1: A cooking competition using only Hacksmith projects - no ovens, no knives, only the raw ingredients and the raw power of Make It Real projects. I'm thinking using Batarangs as paring knives, boring flamethrowers as brule torches, and firing red-hot rebar into a wall to make an impromptu barbecue. If you are able to do collabs with chef KZbinrs, this could also bring some new viewers to your channel - give it some thought! 2: How about a real-life Rocket League car like the Octane? Rocket league is the second-most played game on the Epic Games store, with millions of fans. I know it wouldn't be able to flip or fly (dang those laws of physics!), but it could look FREAKING AWESOME! I'm imagining full drivability, a selection of boost effects, and for the final touches you could cover the outside of the car in flexible OLED screens from AliBaba (I've seen some on there) to make the car color-shift and have animated decals! You could invite tons of Rocket League KZbinrs to try it out - there are plenty of them, many with 1-3M subscribers who would probably watch the video and possible subscribe to the channel! There are multiple pro players and KZbinrs in Canada, some even near your area. And once it's done you could take it to any live esports event and charge for pictures and rides, thus getting a nice income and promoting your channel even further! Another KZbinr has already started work on one and done demos at live events with astounding success, but he has extremely limited resources. I know you lot could do a far better one (especially if you can put the flexible OLED screens on the outside). Anyways, I always enjoy your videos and watch every one as it comes out. Best of luck with all your future projects - I look forward to anything you do! ❤

Hawkeye would be the coolest imo. As for what you said about Grant, and the chance to parafoil over the pyramids. It was difficult to listen to, almost painful, but not in a bad way. The way you talked about Grant, the way your voice was trembling, the way that you almost couldn't get your words out. It was powerful to see how much you cared about him, and how much he impacted your life. How much his passing really effected you. I personally have no attachment to Grant, since I only knew of TKOR after Callie and Nate took over, but to see how he influenced you, and to think about how your work has personally influenced millions of others myself included. It's hard to truly quantify just how much Grant really did for the world. For what it's worth though, having watched your channel for a few years now, I think Grant would be extremely proud of you, for not only following your dream, but giving so many other creators a chance to shine. Without people like you, Grant, Mark Rober, William Osman, even Michael Reeves, I don't think I would have an interest in this aspect of engineering. You've truly managed to honour Grant by making engineering more accessible to the layman, giving good explanations to how these things work, and funding crazy projects from engineers with a glimmer in their eyes, like the Orbitron team. I hope you get the chance to go on your flight, for the honour of Grant. But know that no matter what you've done, you've done a great honour to your friend and his memory.

Misses the point of having them be playing cards but even like making thin pieces of metal that still behave like cards but can be sharper and cause more damage. Just reduced the repeatability as the prices would need to be made if you want more instead of just grabbing any card laying around For torbjiorns molten core, a decent replacement for lava couldnt you make something like the thermite Luncher from Colin Furze. It wouldn’t be liquid but if you can have each round in a metal container, and ignite the thermite on release it could melt the metal mid flight making the molten bolt that Torb launches

I think Hawkeye might be a good start. It's your personal project so hopefully it'd only be released once you're happy with it. It's current design also sound like something that could be potentially not that expensive to produce in larger quantity to sell in the Hacksmith Store Wakanda forever also sounds cool, but that if you guys also coat the self expanding rod parts in nanovate to make the staff itself more resistant to bending? While you did not provide us with a keyword for project no. 8, I think the Gambit definitely sounds like a cool idea for a video Number nine is definitely something that you should do if you feel up to it, doesn't even have to be a video. We too miss the guy. Mark one sounds like an idea that could be watched by many. But it also sounds like a cool project to tackle. Maybe it could somehow be made self-healing, like the claws, or like the self-healing Jlaser Iron man helmet, or it could be made stronger with nanovate without making it weight a ton? Maybe you could bring Santiago back for it and also make a collab with Jlaservideo - who knows what the end effect would be?

Thank you TKOR and Hacksmith for inspiring more than one generation of engineers, creatives, artists, builders, tinkerers, dabblers, hobbyists, doers, and makers. 1. It's working. It's Working! 2. Hawkeye 3. Wakanda Forever 4. Pyramids/ All Hail TKOR 5. Mark 1 P.S. After this video finished, I rewatched the one with Grant. It's okay for men to cry, it's actually a good thing to allow yourself to feel the feels. Grant was an inspiration to me as well. My craft and trade is construction, homebuilding, renovations, and commercial. Even with these skill sets, knowledge, and tool use proficiency, I often feel out of my depth with hobbyist projects. Grant was an inspiration to me as well.

Hey James, i have been noticing, that the channel has less Watchtime than it used to. I too used to be watching you all the time when i was in school and this was one of the Reasons i decided to go and start a Mechatronical Technician apprenticeship. I aint really cut out for university, maybe some day. Anyway: What i realised i have´nt watched you in a long time now, because it was just other Channels that interested me. I have been watching a lot of Grind Hard Plumbing Co in the last Year. I think one big thing that works for GrindHard that doesnt work here is the Amount of Content on a single Project. Ethan from Grind Hard spent almost an entire Year Building his Monster Chopper and i would always be excited for Fridays to see Progress on the Chopper. It was one single Project that i was interested in, which i liked to continue watching. Same was for you in your early Days. You used to make Update Videos on a single big Project. But the Past few Years, since the Team grew bigger, your Company grew etc, you always had the "Figuring out stuff" behind the scenes and only showed the Highs, not the lows. I know big Projects are expensive, but for Example: The Fallout Suit you announced at the End of the Video... Why not make this more Public? Make multiple Videos on it? Fallout is a big enough Game and the Series aswell, to make people interested in that. Why not just make multiple Videos, showing the Progress of the Build to get People more attached to a Project? So People actually care? To get excited for another Episode of that Project to Release? Because if you just do a Single Video and tell People: "Oh behind the scenes we just build a Fallout Suit here it is!" And do one Showcase and Build Video, i dont think this will keep the interest and Watchtime of the Channel up. Im sorry for the long Text, maybe my Perspective is wrong, i just dont want you guys to die on the Hill so many Channels have died on. Donut Media for example as well. They used to be small, People cared, they got big and became a Company focused on Income, made bigger and "better" Videos and People lost interest. Its not as genuine. It feels like watching TV, not a Content Creator on KZbin you are genuinly interested in. Thanks if you made it to the End, im from Germany so excuse the Errors, i wish you well, greetings!

Yeah I agree that would be nice. Especially because you could gauge the interest in a project from video 1 and then decide wether to cancel it or not, rather than just guess before posting a one video project

I agree with the gist of that. Videos are more interesting with technical details & showing the struggle to succeed gets people more emotionally involved.

Kind of an outlandish idea but for the light saber is there a way to collapse the molecular structure of the tungsten saber and reform it to make it retractable? You'd essentially merge physics of plasma with the solid nature tungsten rod. How you'd do that is totally beyond me except maybe the portion where said rod is oscillating between near plasma temps and cool enough to remain solid. Or.... Maybe make a collapsable tungsten rod that emit plasma!!!! That way you get the heat, retractability, and connection with another saber!! (probably way more doable) For this a sling motion to draw the rods out and along the path to full extension the rod ignites making plasma. I don't know I"m just an ideas guy, not a make it happen guy lol

Hawkeye I don´t know how well it will be recieved from the Algorythm, because it is not a big flashy thing, but i think it is great, because you built the first version yourself. I can really relate to this feeling of tinkering with a passionproject on very early or late hours and i am sure a lot of viewers can aswell. You sometimes dont need a full team of engeneers to come up with a cool project, but together with them you can make it even better. But to be clear, it needs to stay your passion project, so make it as good as possible and post the Video if you truely think its ready. And if you can make a version to sell on the store like you said, i will defenetly buy one.

@JosephParker_Nottheboxer2 ай бұрын
After Watching the Video completely, and reading a fair amount of comments, you're stuck with 3 options. Mark 1 for the views, Hawkeye for yourself, or Paragliding for Grant. My suggestion is all 3. Get the team in for the Mark 1, and do it for the show. Take some time out for yourself and do more work on Hawkeye, but as your team for inspiration. Make the video in due course, it'll happen but you, personally, want to be happy with it. Finally Paragliding. It's a far more personal one for you than other people, but many many of us loved Grant when he was doing TKoR. But you knew him better than most of us, do what's right in his memory for you and him. If that's doing your personal project as Hawkeye, then do it. If it's paragliding over the pyramids (and it's an option) then do it.
