It is so cheap, really high in protein with no fat. I use the chunks as well in curries and soups. Also there is Nepalese pickle called choila which uses top chunks fried in oil and fenugreek seed which is amazing mixed in with salads. But I am sure you dudes have a few ideas of your own. I hate to rain on the parade but texturized protein is a really processed food, it is a bi-product of soybean processing. They use hexane (a solvent) to separate the oil from the protein in soy beans (using the protein as the basis for the TVP). Hexane is also used to make petrol. Yes, it may be trace amounts but there are less glamorous whole food ways to make a sausage? you guys have the BEST recipes on the whole, my newly veg husband is so glad I found your channel :)

George Orwell I may like the taste of meat if I remember correctly (since I didn't ate it in 11 years) but on the other hand by now the smell seared pig makes me nauseous, BUT even if I still would like the taste, its not worth killing the animal, the planet and myself for it. Nothing can be that good! I hear your argument often, but I dont understand how people can't see that someone dont want contribute to something they think is unethical/unnecessary/harmful but still want the pleasure. A metaphor: you want to by a new laptop and there is one which color you absolutely love and its the color your laptops allways had. But than you learn the the company which produces these Laptops are big in child/slave labour the finance civil wars for profit, killing people big time, pollut bit areas (ok the electronic market is allways a little shady...) but there are other brands which produces laptops ethically, some are more expensive, some are greatly cheaper all of them dont kill you with radiation which the first one would.... in the scenario would you buy the first one because of its color? Or would you buy another one and leave the color? Or maybe you could color it, in the color you like, wouldn't that be better even if the color would be a little of? Most vegans just see the metaphorically speaking the color isn't everything and you can have 90.000 other color plus their mixes....

A question from my daughter that I can't answer because I'm simply plant based. Maybe others could offer their personal perspective on this to answer her question ? Thought this particular video would be the perfect spot 😊👍 Why do some vegans, not only refer to their dishes with meaty / animal products names but go to great lengths to imitate meat / animal products when it's the very thing they are averse to ? She can't understand why a vegan would crave a meaty texture or flavour and now she also has me curious about this. Thanks in advance for your offering. Please be kind she is just a curious kid 😊
@georgeorwell71496 жыл бұрын
Because vegans know that meat is a human diet but won't ever admit it.
@ZsofiFila6 жыл бұрын
Because mainly we are not averse to the flavour and texture of meat, but the way we harm the animals to get those flavours. So if you can achieve a flavour/texture of sg you like from plants which doesn’t involve violence, or you can get the same by killing animals for it, why not choose the plant version? That’s my point of view but I also choose vegetables from health reasons.. I like the taste I grew up with though, so sometimes it’s good to eat something familiar what I was used to in my childhood like sausages, steak, etc. But if I don’t have to kill anyone for it and there is a healthier option than meat why not go for it and make the same taste from plants?
@thehappypear6 жыл бұрын
It's down to how our brains process food rather than our stomach. Food can be broken down into sensory processes; taste, texture, smell, mouth feel and a few others. Meaty is just a word for the "mouth feel" category. You could use grizzly or chewy but meaty is probably just a more common one. Animal product names is just down to how the search engine works, it's more inclusive for people that might not know any new lingo if they're starting a vegan diet. By just adding the word vegan in front of it you make it easy for people to find and get their head around what it is.
@georgeorwell71496 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, you are killing people with promoting veganism. That is what the globalists want, for you to assist them in the total destruction of nature. You are not "choosing" vegetables for health reasons. You are brainwashed and that is the ONLY reason you eat vegetables. There is no evidence vegetables are good for you or are even supposed to be eaten by humans. Yes, they contain lots of nutrients....for plants. The problem is your body cannot break down the cellulose because it was not designed to eat plants for food. So, you will never absorb all those nutrients in plants in the first place. The other problem is plants are not calorie or nutrient dense, so you would have to eat far more of them than simply eating a steak. That coupled with the low absorption means you would have to eat even MORE of them to get the same calories and nutrition that a small piece of steak offers. Saying there is a "healthier" option than meat is also proof you have been brainwashed. If something is "healthier" for you, it will be what nature designed you for. If you think veganism doesn't harm animals, because you can't see meat on your plate, think again. Most vegans get their food from grocery stores, not from their own garden (because they couldn't produce enough plants to survive for very long). So, they are required to spend most of their money and give it to big agriculture companies like MONSANTO. If you really think giving your money to monsanto is "healthier" for you, or the animals, you have been successfully brainwashed.
