Hey man I’d rather go to someone like you instead of going to an incompetent dealer whose service manager tries to tell me the USB port on my 2019 Heritage isn’t a factory installed option so I have to call the salesman and have him go back and explain to the service manager it’s indeed a factory part and since it’s not working it’s a warranty repair.

@Jack-yl7cc4 жыл бұрын
That would have just given me an excuse to replace the pillion seat with a luggage rack, and add a drivers backrest. Although since you already sold your old bike, the Road King is a nice replacement option; just need to remove that ridiculously large wind screen and add highway pegs. Also need to make sure you get a version with cruise control; that rates fairly high on my nice to have list for road trips.

John, First, good luck with the new shop. Nice video. Funny how my 2018 FLHC had two of the same issues. Saddlebag rattle was because one of the bolt holes was not tapped through, and the bold did not tighten against the bag all the way. I tapped the hole the rest of the way, and the bolt now seats fine. The other was the clip at the bottom end of the side stand came off. Funny how some things just happen. Keep up the videos.

Hey John, good to see you stepping out of the dealership, and into your own thing! "Good luck!" 5 fluids to check... Engine, Trans, and Primary ofcourse.. But also the brakes. They just about all use fluid now days. Front and back! And lastly... Forks! Front forks have a fluid in them, that is similar to hydrolic oil. And hey! I'm just inviting you to check out the video on "Oil Purge," on "Delboy's Garage," channel. By purging the old oil from the oiling system, you get like, another quart of old, dirty oil, from the system, besides just the tank and filter... I think it's worth th quart of clean oil more, to KNOW, you got clean oil throughout the entire system...

You need to paint the inside of your shop white. That will make what lights you have much brighter. My brother started a bike shop back in the 70’s and it really helped when we painted the interior white. He specialized in British and Asian bikes. Not too many Harley’s. This was in Avon and then Lakeville NY.

I would if I owned the place. That would be so expensive, and it would be yellow by the time I move out. Meaning they’d probably make me paint it again. Maybe one day I’ll be bringing in enough to do it !

Gas cap can be fixed. Fix came from another KZbinr and worked for me. Lay the gas cap upside down on something soft. Where the chrome cap is clinted over the plastic take a straight bladed screw driver and indent the edge every 5mm or so (You don't have to wack it!!!). If you do it nicely you'll never ever notice it.

My pre ride check (that's what I call it) depends on how far I'm going. Less than 10 miles - If it starts that's it, off I go. If I'm actually going for a ride, I check all the lights, all the switches, levers, pedals, oil level, tire pressure, horn, leaks on forks and shocks, engine, trans and primary leaks, lastly look for loose nuts and bolts, then I'm off.
