My first thought on this subject is a lack of professional skills to product quality and safe ships. I know dollars have been given for our military but steel and the correct supplies may be a big conflict to get our Navy built or any military equipment. Now I'll watch the video and see what you are shining a light on. Thanks, Butch in Idaho

I'm thinking it would greatly benefit the Navy (and all our armed forces tbh) to develop partnerships with colleges and trade schools, to develop and train this skilled workforce that we need. At the moment, we have lots of young people in college, earning degrees that aren't going to serve their career needs AND are plunging them into debt at an early age. Have thought that trade schools have needed far more discussion for years now, than they've been given. Automotive technicians for instance, are in great demand and provide a good income for those folks, due to the ever-increasing technological advances in automotive design. I would think our armed forces deserve the same kind of consideration. I was a 36K, a Field Communications Specialist in the Army, but the communications of my era 40 years ago were far, far different from what they use today, requiring a far different training regimen.

@@sandhollowhomestead6972 Thanks. My youngest son was an electronic weapons specialist of some kind, served three years on the DMZ, and we've talked about the differences in the Army from my era to his. Just one generation's difference, yet enormous changes in technology. Training and education is paramount in today's military.

Is this "crumbling of infrastructure and capital equipment" due to repeated bad budgeting allocations by "contractors" or 'near private sector" employed senior US Navy/Army decision makers in the Pentagon?

Apparently you’re the one who doesn’t understand. There’s no such thing as a U.S. Navy shipyard. There hasn’t been for decades. All U.S Navy ships are constructed in PRIVATE yards by military contractors.

If Biden gets in office we will not have a navy or an Air Force or any other branch of military but will have brown shirts bring our jobs back

This was interesting to me, even though I'm an Army veteran--I'm from a Naval family. With China now trying to dominate the Pacific, this is an important topic. The military I was a part of (end of Vietnam War and Cold War era) was a far different military than we have today, with far different issues involved. I'm also very curious now to hear the discussion of the Space Force coming up at the end of October, as I have a great love of anything space-related. Good discussion, I tagged my family members who are military veterans when I shared.

Liaison Action Records (LARs) can create significant delays and decrease efficiency during a ship’s alteration. Perhaps the Navy should work to improve best practices on the design and engineering side of the process as well. Great conversation!

When the gubermint tells us, “Yeah, those UFO’s are OURS,” will we still need a navy?

Don't you think it is not a good idea to advertise any military weaknesses we may have? Can you say criminally stupid?
