Back in his prime of playing he used to buy clothes from a shop in Cheadle my cousin worked in. One time my cousin commented on how awesome his Ferrari was. Coley offered to take him for a spin but my cousins boss said no he had to work. Coley said if they didn't let him he'd stop buying his designer clothes there. They let him. A true gent in the game and a lovely bloke. I don't know anything of Teddy but I can interpret that he's a arrogant type.

I met Sheringham in a petrol station in Brentwood, he never said a word to me when I said hello, he just stood still and stared at me, then when he drove off he stopped his car and stared at me and my Mrs for a while right in front of my car and then drove off. I used to idolise him at Tottenham, now I think he's a prick, my Mrs thought the same.

Where was race even mentioned? Two elite strikers with high standards, big egos and a desire to be the best of the best didn't get on. What was colour or ethnicity got to do with it? Schmeichel and Keane didn't get on and even came to blows during a drunken hotel-brawl. Was that race-related too?

I’m a spurs fan so Sheringham was one of my favourite players growing up. I can absolutely recall several instances where Sheringham has had a sulk when his number has gone up and he’s getting subbed. Whether he deliberately snubbed Cole or not is open to debate. I’ve met Cole and spoke to him briefly and he was pleasant, it’s interesting that he has the arrogant and moody tag when there are many people who’ll tell you that could easily be applied to Sheringham.

I always liked Andy Cole. I can understand why people may think he seems a bit arrogant, but I think he’s probably more shy and unassuming. Probably a top bloke. Sheringham just seemed a bit of a Billy big bollocks with bravado whereas Cole was modest and just went about his day to day stuff. Apparently Keane spoke well of him which I can imagine.

I can only speak from my own experience. I wrote a letter to Teddy Sheringham when I was 16 years old after he left Millwall for Nottingham Forest thanking him for the season he had for Millwall, scoring 41 goals and for probably being the best player I've ever seen at my club. I expected nothing back because I just wanted to tell him. He sent a handwritten letter in reply along with two signed photographs. That meant a lot to me.

I met Teddy Sheringham in a cafe. He walked up took 1 of my chips and stuck it in my egg. He then took a balloon off a 5yr old kid and burst it with a fork. Put his hand in the tip jar and stole it then ordered an omelette and sent it back saying he ordered a pizza and then bought an ice cream and put it in the face of a baby in a pram. Got his autography that day. Top bloke.

As a fan of neither of those teams, I had no posters of Andy Cole on my walls, because Andy Cole gave me nighmares. I feared him. I hated him. His face made me wince. He was the pantomime villain that scored past my awful team every other week. Half a yard... goal. He ruined many Saturdays for me. A born Striker. Loved by many, feared by most. I met Teddy Sheringham once in an owl sanctuary in Longstanton. Very funny man. He told me he once laughed so hard that he had Kenco coming out of his nostrils, and that made ME laugh!

Had a supply teacher for a French lesson. Turned out it was Andrew Cole's old head master. We spent the whole lesson talking about Cole and football. No french best lesson ever.

Weren't ole Tedders a little bit racist? Fash spoke about his time at Millwall in the early 1980s. One of the team was calling Fash all manner of stuff. Fash smacked him. Well, you'd never guess who else was in the Millwall squad at the time. Well, let's just say, it may have been that certain sentiments were widespread in the Millwall squad at the time.

Two sides to each story but when Andy Cole threatened to retire to force and move and the whole Andy to Andrew Cole change, let alone him and Dwight abandoning their child with Jordan before paternity, I can't see Andy being blameless

I think people need to see these people aren't your friends. To get to the top of any given field, you have to cut throats, they're actors on a stage. In this case it's football. Sheringham is my favourite player, sine the first time I saw him for Millwall, he's not the best, but he's my favourite. I don't care what he's like in his private life, I would hate to have mine scrutinized every 5 mins. I could dislike him immensely as a person, but that's irrelevant, to me. I love Ozzy, as an entertainer, I have never watched one episode of the Osbourne's I don't care what he is as a person. We need to all see this, else you would get disappointed.

Cole scored a lot of goals but he missed a lot more, more than any other striker in the top tier. He doesn`t mention he didnt speak to Cantona either, and that was because Eric didn`t rate him, the times he set him up and he missed a sitter and Cantona just shook his head as he walked away. I think it would have been the same with Sheringham who was a terrific player. Sad to read the comments about him being an arrogant prick as I rated him highly.
