Almost every single character of Mahabharat is worth praising. And it's also true that most of them could not be directly stated as Hero's or Villains. At the end, we can only refer to those as right who choose to fight on the path of Dharma, which is supreme than anything else.

Karna was the biggest villain in mahabharat. After getting married to draupadi when pandava came back to hastinapur he suggested Duryodhan to attack pandava immediately which was opposed by Dronacharya. When Vikarna raised his voice in favour of Draupadi it was karna who scolded him and suppressed his voice. Moreover, karna made a sacrilegious comment on devi draupadi during vastraharan. It was him who said devi draupadi is a prostitute. Karna asked dushashana to disorbe devi draupadi. When he was fighting with Gandharva he was defeated so badly that he ran away with the help of Vikarna and didn't even try to save his so-called friend.

Karna is neither a Hero nor Villian but a catalyst for so many to things to happen and one of the important characters and a pivotal factor in the epic Mahabharata. When talking about karna apart from his valor and his great charitable nature, what we have to learn from his life is, all the mistakes he made and the decisions he took and how the consequences of his decisions came back to bite him in the form of curses. Having said that we cannot simply say Karna is good or bad since he is a perfect mixture of a grey character in the Epic. He is not pure evil like Duryodhana but he always took part in Duryodhana's acts in different forms rather than try to keep him from those kinds of acts. Karna always tried to live up to the expectations duryodhana has for him and even instigate him sometimes towards Pandavas ignoring what is right and wrong even though he is someone who can tell them apart which is sad.

I agree to few of your points. Karna is neither purely a hero nor a villain. He's a tragic hero whose loyalty to Duryodhana and adherence to honor lead him down a complex path. Both are different in terms of their life choices. Vibhishana knew that his brother was wrong, and that's why he supported lord Ram (path of Dharma) but in Mahabharat Karan who right from the beginning knew the evil acts of Duryodhan still supported him and valued his friendship more than Dharma. Like it's mentioned in Ved Vyas Mahabharat, Karan was also a wrong doer, but it is the blessings given to him by Lord Krishna that people would still remember him as a powerful and strong warrior. That's the sole reason why most people are referring to him as more superior than Arjun himself, whom no one could defeat except Lord Shiva.

Duryodhana took aid from Sakuni and followed that path is what makes him evil natured (who would go to any length) and Karna knowing same aided him pretty much which is visible in Lakhyagriha incident which actually was Karna's idea and as mentioned the Bastraharana arc too . So Karna is basically a classic shady character same as Marvel's Zemo .

This is not true Karan attacked Arjun while he was off his Chariot here is the full fight. This is an excerpt from the Karna Parv from the Mahabharata : Seeing his chariot wheel sunk in mud, Karna asked Arjuna to wait a while so that he can remove his chariot wheel from mud and it is adharma to strike someone who is on the ground. At this, Vasudeva said -- "O Radheya! It is fortunate that you remember dharma. Quite often, when they are immersed in hardships, inferior ones censure destiny, but not their evil deeds.O Karna! When you, Suyodhana, Duhshasana and Shakuni Soubala brought Droupadi to the assembly hall in a single garment, did dharma not show itself to you? When, in the assembly hall, Yudhishthira, who was not skilled at dice, was defeated by Shakuni, who was skilled at dice, where did dharma go then? O Karna! During her season, Krishna was under Duhshasana’s subjugation in the assembly hall and you laughed at her. Where did dharma go then? O Karna! Resorting to the king of Gandhara and coveting the kingdom, you challenged the Pandavas. Where did dharma go then?" Hearing this, Arjuna remembered all the misdeeds of Karna & was enraged. Karna, then shot Brahmastra against Arjuna. Arjuna countered it with his own weapons. Arjuna then released Agneyastra and Karna countered it with Varunastra. Karna is a great example of how someone could be so good but they allow themselves to be bad due to the pain that they faced. Karna is an example of what happens when you don’t move past your pain and evolve past your hurt. He was selfless, brave, and kind in many ways. He was intelligent. But due to the pain he endured and due to the fact that he REFUSED to evolve past his hurt, he suffered in the end. Karna tricked his teacher in order to learn about the bramhastra and he went against parashuram’s boundaries. He insulted Draupadi due to her rejecting him. He let her get disrobed simply because of the anger he felt towards the Pandavas. He willingly chose Duryodhan despite knowing that Duryodhan was wrong. He stayed with him due to his attachment to him. When God himself Krishna came to him and told him he was on the wrong side of the war he refused to listen because only Duryodhan was there for his pain. When his mother begged him he refused because of his loyalty to a bad person. He participated in the unfair killing of Abhimanyu and didn’t feel an ounce of sympathy for his death. In the end, as tragic as his story is, his end was self inflicted. He constantly chose Adharma due to the fact that he endured so much despite being a good person. He was truly a good man and a skilled warrior. But his pain blinded him from his full potential.

True....! But i don't think he endured any insufferable pain even compared to Pandavas. Those five brothers despite being princes spend most of their life roaming forests. As kids , then after lakshagrah incident, then again after game of dice. Where as Karna was raised by a loving parent . Had a chance to receive education among Hasthinapura princes, where he befriended Duryodhana. Drona might have refused to give him Brahmastra lessons but everything else he learned from Drona. Then he crashed the Archery show conducted for princes uninvited , just out of jelousy and probably as part of a screenplay planned by Duryodhan where he suddently became a King. Then from that moment till his death in battle he lived in all sorts of comforts and pleasures of a king...!!!

Karna is neither a villain nor a hero. The problem with people nowadays is that they are getting influenced by the newer stories about him. His circumstances caused him to do many bad things aswell as good ones. People often pity both karna and ekalavya. Personally, I do pity exalavya as his thumb being cut off was a very unfortunate circumstance. However, when it comes to Karna, he was the one who suggested the idea of Draupadi getting disrobed in front of the entire court. This was a choice he chose to make, and is considered ADHARM. He not only did this, but also involved himself in killing Abhimanyu, who was only a teenager at the time. He chose to be on Duryodhans side, even when Krishna told him that it was wrong. At the end of the day, Karna’s pride and jealousy was what brought him his ultimate downfall during the war. Krishna ordered Karna to be killed when he was unarmed. This was a result of his past negative actions. So no, I do not pity Karna at ALL, but I do understand why people might sympathize with him. Please read the original MAHABHARATA or watch MAHABHARAT by B.R CHOPRA. It is much more realistic!

You guys are talking about Karna’s bad deeds ok. Now let's talk about Arjuna's bad deeds... 1. He burned the Kandharva forest with Krishna by his side they both prevented any life from the forest to escape, thus killing all innocent life in the forest, that includes nag Ahwasena's mother and his kind just so Agni dev could come and consume all the fire for his belly then he blessed Arjuna with the Gandiva bow after killing all that life. 2. He and his pandava brothers were responsible for killing a Nishada woman and her 5 sons just so they can cover their own tracks 3. Arjuna allowed Yudhishthira to put draupadi as a gambling prize just to have a chance at winning the game. 4. Like Karna, Arjuna was no less at insults he was also jealous of Karna and Eklavya 5. He never even cared for the low caste people, he only cared for himself 6. This Arjuna u all pray to doesnt even care about u and say if you do get special trainings of Archery he is going to cry to his guru Drona and Drona will cut off your hands. 7. Arjuna was going to kill Yudhishthira because he was mad that Yudhishthira was comparing him to Karna. 8. When Karna moved Arjuna's chariot 3 ft away and Arjuna moved Karna’s chariot 10ft away. Krishna was applauding Karna but Arjuna was jealous and confused not even acknowledging that Krishna and Hanuman are there aiding him. Thats pretty arrogant. 9. The pandavas dress up as Brahmins which is even worse than lying to a brahmin. When you are a brahmin you have different roles and rules...Those roles are teaching wisdom, combat, and principles to your disciples. You live a strict way of life and most of all no one is allowed to identify themself as a brahmin especially when you are a Kshatriya. Although with some flaws of Karna atleast he stayed loyal to his friend dhuryodhan, he fulfilled his mother kunti's promise not killing her sons and he always gave to others, especially when he doesn't have nothing left, if u asked him for his life then he would definitely and happily give u his life. Now lets look at his flaws and try to question it... 1. Calling Draupadi a prostitute: Well im not gonna lie she is a prostitute, when Kunti asked Arjuna to share her amongst the 5 pandavas without even knowing, Draupadi didn't mind because she could have stopped and could've prevented herself from being shared amongst the 5 pandavas, but no she enjoyed it and slept with them one by one. Now if a man has 5 wives he has to bare the responsibility of taking care of all of his 5 wives financially, mentally and physically. Draupadi had no such responsibilities like this it was the pandavas who had to take care of her and fight for her. Draupadi had also no respect to the lower caste and always compared herself to other women in hastinapur, when she doesn't realize she wasnt actually born but created from fire so she should know her place and then proceeds to call Karna a Sutaputra. Well i say Karma got her back. 2. Killing of Abhimanyu: Abhimanyu had a choice not to enter the chakravyuh, but since his pride and ego got in the way he still entered the Chakravyuh with only half the knowledge on how to get out and when you enter the Chakravyuh your so called fair rules dont apply in there anymore. You are now playing under your opponents rule so that also means you're going to be facing multiple warriors doesn't matter if its fair or not, but then again Karna did participate in killing Abhimanyu, but he didn't kill Abhimanyu he just Broke Abhimanyu's Raudra bow, Drona destroyed Abhimanyu's celestial Kavach and chariot while Ashwatthama and Kripacharya killed the steeds and Abhimanyu's celestial bracelet that grants him the boon to be invincible to attacks and when Abhimanyu was left defenseless.
