I need to ask a question, i mean to ask with the most respect for our religious practices, please do not get me wrong This journey the soul takes without food for 13 days in the blood sea ... why or how does it affect the soul ? Krishna says The soul cannot be pierced by weapons, burned by fire, moistened by water, or withered by the wind So why are we offering food to souls? I understand that it allows to bring family together but is that all there really is to this?

It was also asked by Premanand maharaj of vrindavan... He said, we have three bodies in this structure - physical body, mental body, energy body. Even though physical body is gone and been burnt, we still have energy body and mental body. In hindi, we say it as सूक्ष्म शरीर and कारण शरीर. So these body, gets to feel the pain. And liberation is just this, to get rid of both these bodies on this earth itself. So no case remains to come on earth again. Bcz you already got rid of these two bodies and after death your physical body also vanish.
