I would say that after the 4 Nations break, hopefully with the flu done with, and with Rantanen getting more time playing with Aho, the Canes should be back on more point streaks. I don’t expect them to pass Washington, but I think having home ice advantage over the Devils would be a good finish to the regular season. As for the playoffs, I’m expecting at least one more trade to happen-either a big forward with finishing skills, or a more solid D-man, or a goaltender upgrade-not sure what it would be. But, I certainly expect them to stop getting shutout back-to-back, etc. Should be an interesting validation or indictment of GMET’s “genius”.

There is some concern with the Avs. Just cannot find consistent play. It’s either dominant game or total meltdown. People who should be contributing are ghosts. It’s been a bit rough but I must say I love Necas so far.

I feel like Washington's style of play would be even more effective in a best of 7, really heavy and grinding forecheck, and frustrating and stifling defense

Agreed. And they haven't lost three games in a row this season. They've only lost back to back games three times and one of those instances were both OTLs. They've kept themselves in every game with a chance to win in the third.

As a Kraken fan, the two things that have me panicking are if my Tanev jersey is going to become a "classic" in the next month and if Ron Francis doesn't do anything or does something bad about the Grubauer situation. The actual on ice season, no panic. It's been cooked for a while now.

Wild fan: Yea, in panic mode. I don't think we can blame all or even most of this on injuries. We were doing decently without Kaprizov earlier in the season, but it's been 6 periods since we've scored a goal and we're just getting steamrolled.

Washington has a tendency to string wins together and immediately bounce back from a loss. They are exactly what you want in the playoffs. 15-2-1 following any form of loss this season. Insane.

Washington has a very improved offense, but they’re winning games right now with excellent goaltending and defense (top 5 defense in the league right now). So not sure how their style isn’t built for playoffs, but I guess we’ll see

I love my oilers and I’m happy with where they sit in the standings but I do have this slight sense of concern that I can’t quite shake. It like you said about slow starts just being part of their brand. Would be nice if they could play a consistent 60 minutes but I guess we’ve been winning so I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️

Love the aside about Hitchhiker's, but I'm gonna really throw you for a loop. As much as I love the Hitchhiker's series -- and I love it a lot -- I think the Dirk Gently books are DNA's superior property. Long Dark Teatime of the Soul is one of my favorite books, bar none.

I think the avs are in the right spot but we'll go back up once chu chu is back. Blackwood's been pretty great and necas is building some amazing chemistry with MacKinnon; moreover, bednar is an amazing coach and I have the utmost faith in him when it comes to cleaning up our more glaring problems.

I think the glarong problem is that unless that top line is on the ice? No one is contributing to the offence. Upgrade at goaltender is smart. Good pickup on Neccas but it still doesn't help a wildly top heavy team.

As a Bolts fan I would say cautiously optimistic. Franchise history wise January was a historically brutal schedule in terms of games, back to backs and travel. They absolutely left plenty of points on the table. But the quality of play was better than the results suggest. They need to figure out 2nd line RW whether its Geekie who is currently with the Crunch or Goncalves or a trade at the deadline. I feel like for the first time since 2021 we have a top 9 and bottom 3 but they seem determined to make it top 6 bottom 6 again.

I'm slightly panicked as a Sens fan depending on the length of the Pinto and Norris injuries Sens could struggle although they've dealt with injuries all season long such as 90% of teams their injuries were spread around the lineup where they are now missing their 2nd and 3rd line centers Greig can fill in but after that things get a bit tough. Still really happy with where the team is given the schedule they've had this season they are in a great spot with a lighter schedule opponent wise to end the season as well as a lot of home games

I think theres some concern with Stars fans after the Heiskanen injury, Lundkvist going to LTIR (he was having a great season too), and Lyubushkin going down last night, and other injuries. Still, i agree, the Stars are doing very, very well. If they can somehow get Heiskanen AND Seguin back for the playoffs this team will be hard to stop. Just please no more injuries.

It's amazing what having Jeff Petry out of the lineup has done for the Wings! Don't let people fool you, that's the reason for their success. New coach provided a liiiiiiiittle boost, but Petry being out..... that was the biggest difference maker. 😅

Hi there Narf! I’m 71 and I’ve been a Blues fan since 1968. Back then whoever played the Habs was in a state of panic! Those great Canadiens team were fabulous. Les Canadiens were the last team from the Original Six that the Blues finally beat. The Blues didn’t get their first win over the Habs until Dec 30, 1969, at The Forum, in the Blues 3rd season. (Maybe Les Canadiens were celebrating Les New Years early and drinking too many Les Molsons before that game). It wasn’t until March 16, 1971 when the Blues FINALLY beat the Canadiens at home in St. Louis! We celebrated in STL like crazy even though it was a relatively meaningless regular season game.

As a devils fan I’m not panicked at all. One thing I learned over the years of watching hockey is the regular season means NOTHING. Just make playoffs and judgement will come from there. This team was losing but they will be fine. 4-2 in our last 6 now. Things have improved and we are missing our best players.

They’re top three in goals for, top 3 in goals against, arguably best goaltending in the league rn, top 5 penalty kill, can play mostly any style you want, and they can come back in any game. Let them sleep, there’s nothing more we can prove right now but we know how good the team is

So, here's why I as a Wild fan am not in panic mode. Before this season started, our expectations for this season were bottom of the barrel. They defied the odds early on, but then got injury after injury after injury, then slowed down. Everything good that happened this season so far has just been gravy. Next year we have a handful of new prospects coming in, the Suter/Parise cap drops off, plus the increase gives them $22 million more going into next season. I'm proud of what they've been able to do with this situation, and all I can say is watch out, they're going to come out swinging next year.

As a Bruins fan I expect pretty much the same from Don every trade line. Big name acquisitions that fall short of expectations and bottom six players that perform above and beyond only to be traded at the end of the season. Sweeney, Sweeney never changes.

If I were a NYI or Detroit fan, I would be hopeful that my team has pulled itself up into the playoff race, but would be far from certain of making the playoffs, which is the minimum standard for team success. Especially NYI, who are not even in a playoff spot at the moment.

Yeah, I think us canes fans are in regular season doesn't matter mode. Only slight concern is how they manage the goal tenders but I do think they have a legit 1a1b tandem to roll with. Playoff roster should be harder to play against with Moose, Carrier and...Nikishin?
