For people who have voices in their head telling them to get unnecessary Plastic Surgery. It's very helpful to have Dr Youns calm and reassuring voice in your head, explaining to you the risks involved. And you know, with the physical evidence you present and the fact that you argue Logically around every aspect of it. You really can talk anyone out of getting unnecessary plastic surgery.

That plug of his retinol moisturizer is $84 for 1.7oz, about the size of a tube of neosporin...for $84...retinol. My prescription tretinoin is cheaper for a 3 month supply! The ordinary makes a really good retinol.

Great content as always, but I wanted to comment on the use of Latisse for lash growth! Latisse contains/prostaglandins(hypotensive lipids), and this has been known to age the eyes as well as permanently discolor the lids, cause dry eye, and irritated eyes as well. We now actually encourage our clients to read labels and realize that prostaglandins may be hidden under different names, so just be careful of eyelash growth serums. There are several on the market that do not contain prostaglandins. Here's a list of ingredients used in serums, which should be avoided. Isopropyl Cloprostenate. Bitamoprost Isopropanol Phenyl-hydroxy-pentene Dihydroxy-cyclopentyl-heptenate Dechloro Dihydroxy Difluoro Ethylcloprostenolamide

@leonaarnaud4229 I'm so glad you stopped this! It also changed one of my client's eye color!! Yes, when checking the ingredient deck, watch out for prostaglandins and their pseudo names too! Honestly, organic cold pressed castor oil actually does nourish the lashes and helps with eyelash growth. Many studies on this simple and very safe ingredient!

For my oily skin it's much more efficient to use exfoliating toner with low percentages of acids every day, than to use The Ordinary peel 1-2 times a week, since my skin doesn't react well to high percentages of acids, but my pores get very clogged daily because of pollution in the air, mostly...

Latisse contains prostaglandins which has some undesirable side effects. I developed meibomian gland dysfunction but luckily I didn’t get permanent discoloring of eyelid skin and darkening of my iris. Orbital fat loss from the prostaglandins is also a risk.
@jennifercarillio8403
@jennifercarillio8403 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! I've been explaining to my clients about the prostaglandins. It's bad enough that our bodies produce prostaglandins....let alone, purposely, placing them on our lash line. I'm so sorry to learn about your meiobomian issues. There are much better options out there for lash nourishment and growth without the horrible side effects!

How funny. I have an annoying habit of picking at my eyebrows (and lashes by the way) and my eyebrows were super thin and barely there, about 75% of my brows were gone. A friend told me to try castor oil. I did so with a q-tip about 2-3 times a week, sometimes skipped a week. My eyebrows grew all the way back to normal, even the tail of my eyebrows. Completely grown-in and restored. I was shocked that it worked.

I’m sorry that u had a reaction to it. U may be using too much, I barely touch my neck… or it may be the brand u’re using but a buffer may help… just not as fast. Bc of reading of so many ppl having reactions from retin-A on the neck, I was afraid to rub it in. So aft putting it on my face, I very lightly ran my finger down the front (left, middle + right) side of my neck w/the light film that’s barely left on my finger. The next morning, aft washing it off, I generously rubbed organic raw African Shea butter on the front AND back of my neck.

1:20 but what kind of silicone? I always avoid silicone (and sodium chloride) in any products for my scalp or face since it worsens seborrheic dermatitis. It comes with many denominations depending on the composition but overall it's way better to use products that contain the bare minimum like panthenol, glycol stearate, or cocamidopropyl betaine. On the other hand solid silicone (surgical grade) as in implants and earplugs never gave me an inflammatory response, so I'm wondering what kind of silicone is applied to scars in order to know if it would give me a reaction or not.

Question, I am 58 years old and have been told that I have very nice skin and look much younger than I am, very few, if any wrinkles. But the only skin care I have ever done is washing my face with no soap and using my hands or a washcloth once I started doing that Instead of applying stuff on my face I very rarely had a breakouts. Do I need to be 8:44 putting lotion’s and exfoliating.

Latisse should be pulled. It's rx only in the states because it made people go blind. Here's a doctor recommending it & saying how great it works, but neglecting to warn anyone of how dangerous it actually is. Sounds more like a skinfluencer. Castor oil does work (tried it), it's cheaper, and nowhere near as dangerous if it gets in your eyes. We don't need a prescription lash serum. The length you get from Latisse looks so unnatural & creepy.

Do you know what in the sunscreen you are allergic to? If it's a specific UV filter, you can look for sunscreens that use a different filter or a combination of different filters. Not all sunscreen uses the same ingredients to protect from UV rays. Some filters are Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide, these are the most common SPF ingredients and are usually called "physical/inorganic" sunscreen. There are others such as Avobenzone or Tinosorb S that are called "chemical/organic" sunscreen. Chemical/organic sunscreens usually use a combination of different UV filters that work together to protect against the different types of UV rays. If you can pinpoint what you are allergic to, you might be able to find a sunscreen that will work for you.

Wnjoyed watching your video and have learned a lot. No studies for castor oil? Might be because it's not grown in U.S or European countries. You apply the real castor oil to hair and notice the thucker hair in a week. I realize castor oil got rid of dandruff too because after using it for some time, I realized "oh, no more dandruff. " you don't always need studies to realize something. Our ancestors came up with natural remedies and probably lived a healthier life than us now. Nowadays, everything is modified. It has to come from the lab and have so many chemicals (generally speaking).

This has always confused me - isn't using retinol or an aha serum the same as exfoliating? And don't people use those daily? When you say "exfoliate", are you referring to a separate mask or scrub or enzyme wash or peel?
@annapatton4544
@annapatton4544 Жыл бұрын
retinol is not exfoliation. Scrubs and acids (aha, bha, pha) are exfoliators. Though derms recommend physical scrubs for the body (cheaper) and acids for the face. You can get a face wash with acids or a mask, different strengths, all depends on your preferences and skin sensitivity.

I have very fair skin and burn easily. I stay out of the sun as much as possible...and I prefer to use Mineral Sunscreen on my face. My biggest peeve about Sunscreen...is the weak SPF in most sunscreens and the texture of creamy ones. Unless you have darker skin...I cannot imagine using a 25, 30, or even a 40 SPF sunscreen. That is a sunburn waiting to happen. I had to spend some time...to find a 50 SPF MINERAL POWDER SUNSCREEN...EVEN ONLINE. I do not like chemical sunscreens...nor liquid mineral ones. I spend about 55 dollars on a good 50 SPF brush on powder...because it doesn't mess with my skincare much either. Creams are goo on top of goo. The only time I use a liquid mineral sunscreen is if I am going to be out in the sun for HOURS. I also wear a hat in those situations as well. Those moments are rare...'cause I know better.

I can't believe you recommended Latisse after all the lawsuits & people it hurt. You should have a disclaimer on why it's rx only and how dangerous it is if it gets in your eyes, as it goes directly on the lash line. As a doctor, you should warn people before they go running to their docs for a Latisse prescription without being aware that it can blind them. This makes you sound like a skinfluencer who attended KZbin University than an actual doctor who can be trusted. 🙄
