So on the estrogen thing, I hit menopause really early (39) due to some medical issues. I asked for hrt, my doctor said she wasn't going prescribe me hrt as it caused cancer and it was a natual process anyway and I would just have to deal with it. 20 years later I'm really struggling with the lack of estrogen in my body and particularly my skin. I am so grateful to everyone who draws attention to this issue so others don't have to go through what I went through.

I use tretinoin & I like it a lot.

yes, we were gaslit. I'm now done with menopause and wished I had tried this when I was going through menopause. Whenever your body is missing something, you bet your doctor will replenish it. But if you're a woman, nothing gets done.

I have estradiol cream for pelvic/bladder hrt. With the smallest dab on a q-tip, I rubbed into some deep facial lines around my mouth, one side obly. Works! I used much less for pelvic/bladder as a result, as the face dab systemically was reaching the lower areas. Have done this only for 2 days. Taken hrt for 24 yrs.

Yes, very true - when I was 48 and knew peri menopause was beginning my regular MD told me the same BS "causes cancer" which I knew was ridiculous! I told him (of course it's a "him") "after looking over the chart showing me what I have to look forward to with menopause I'll take my chances with cancer. Walked out and found a doctor who specialized in bio identical hormones - I'm 68 now and don't have cancer - and am not going to get cancer - if I do it won't be because of the hormones.

I love my thread lifts. I've had a handful of them over the last several years. Yes, they don't last more than a year, but I'm lucky enough to have a National Laser Institute near me where I can have them done and the learning facility. I paya couple hundred dollars each time. I've loved the results and feel like I am building collagen in the process.

I never struggled with acne until the age of 28 😭 and it got so bad so quick!! I had the worst cystic acne, my face was soo irritated, inflamed and in pain 😢 I think it’s because I was taking too much of a liquid collagen supplement. I was prescribed a benzyl peroxide scrub , clindamycin, and differin. The prescriptions only put a bandage on a larger wound. It temporarily helped but every time I switched products my cystic acne would come back (and get worse with collagen supplements). Two years later my skin is better and healing, but only after a major diet change!!! I don’t drink coffee anymore, I cut gluten out, I don’t eat meat or fish anymore, and i cut soy back and decreased my dairy consumption. Most of the foods I eat are veggies, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, and I try to limit my processed food consumption, and I stay tf away from collagen supplements!!

I use Botox for my 111 lines between my eyebrows which are very deep. The doctor also injects for the horizontal lines just above my eyes. They do not completely take lines away, they do soften them. In between treatment when it’s safe too I do face massage and use a qua sha. I’m 68, started at 65. I do face massage for rest of face, use tretinoin cream and now esrogren cream too. Some people are lucky and don’t have lines in their forehead. They are the lines that make me feel most self conscious. I think the problem is when they overdo the injectables.

If you use Botox early enough, it will keep wrinkles from forming around the eyes which equates to a more useful appearance. To each his own. I like looking in the mirror and not seeing an old lady while there are some old ladies that like looking in the mirror and seeing an old lady. It’s everybody’s individual choice and no one should be criticized for exercising their choice.

I just don't have visible forehead lines or bad crows feet.

Dr Youn, thank you! I love watching you. I do use Musely. They do not use estradiol. Just Estriol 0.3%; Vit C; and Hyalluronic acid; and aloe. There's not enough Vit C in it so I layer it over Allies of Skin's Vit C. I hate going in to see a derm because they don't mask or even use a hepa, so I don't really want to trade aesthetics for covid. The only time I'll do an in-person now is for an annual cancer screening.I do follow Dr Sam Ellis and Dr Rajani as well. Very informative. Can you also do one on topical rapamycin?

I'm so glad I listened to this before I started using my new Nuface mini. I actually bought it for lip lines, because that's my biggest area of concern. But now that I hear it strengthens the muscles, I don't think it's a good idea to use it around my upper and lower lip, because wouldn't strengthening the muscles there make the lip lines worse? If they're stronger, wouldn't they make a pucker (like when you're sipping through a straw, for example) more strongly, making the lip lines worse? One of the things I do to dramatically decrease my lip lines is to stick my thumb underneath the gum, and then massage them against my index finger. Believe it or not, it really does make them relax and almost disappear! And it can last for at least 24 hours, depending on how much puckering I do. I think if I did it every night on a really regular basis, it would make a big difference. Does anybody have some experience with using a microcurrent device on their upper lip to get rid of the so-called smokers lines? What about aestheticians who know a lot about facial muscles - I think their feedback could be very helpful, too. I think that manufacturers and the people who recommend these kinds of products ought to warn you about that.
