Disturbingly, this is actually a rather small infection. Animals that big can get infections so huge that you need a bucket to keep it from getting all over the place when drained.

I love how you thoroughly you describe what you’re doing and why, the anatomy of the cow and pathology of the problem, what the animal is experiencing, and what the effects of your treatment will be on the animal. I know people think this type of video is gross (and it totally is, even for me as someone who grew up helping friends and family on their dairy farms, usually pulling calves lol). But it’s soothing to watch an expert work through and resolve a problem that’s causing another creature pain.

Even though I was raised on a farm with dairy cows and a few beef cattle among all the other animals, I haven’t seen many of the problems these cows show. Thank you for keeping me informed and entertained all the time. Especially since I had emergency surgery on May 1, and had complications. I’m almost healed now, but still can’t go do whatever I want for about 6 more months. Even when I’m completely well I’ll still be watching for every video you post.

Having a weak stomach isn’t an option when you work with animals. My daughter is a veterinarian and sometimes I help out .There are all kinds of nasty things you can find in and on animals. Dogs and cats infested with fly larvae, ulcers, pus and that’s only the outside. On the inside it can become even more nasty. You have to be able to smell rotting tissue and off course also faeces … The nice thing about it is seeing that the animal is doing much better after you have taken care of it. Seeing a stray dog wagging his tail after you drained a nasty abscess or after you cleaned out his anus and removed all the larvae is something that makes it all worth it. My daughter (and me also) can’t see an animal suffer. She treats even the stray ones for free. We also work with a shelter so they can get adopted. Last month my daughter had to amputate a front leg of a sweet stray kitten. Now he lives with her because she couldn’t let him go after all the care she gave him. Working with cows is better. You can’t take them home with you..😄

Honestly, didn't know WHY I liked watching these videos so much. But it's the personality you bring and the actual care you have for these animals. You take pride in your work and take pride in doing a good job. Because your work is helping animals, primarily cows, have a better quality of life. Doing a good job means one more life is impacted and changed for the better. It's nothing particularly grand or showy, it's DEFINITELY not a glamorous or particularly clean job. But it's something that folk have to do and do properly.

08:30 When you're talking about the delicacy of the courium and not being able to avoid it sometimes, it's comparable to when humans get injured and need surgery or stitches or things of the sort, sometimes to help it has to hurt for a bit. But you're always on top of trying to avoid it. It's how genuinely you care about their comfort. Not a lot of the ones over here only ever care about how fast they can get all of the cows done, and I've seen ppl be proud of themselves after cutting up the corium of multiple cows bc they didn't wanna rake their time. I genuinely cry seeing how well you take care of them. ❤❤❤❤❤
