@@donutchan8114 my ADHD point of view is that ADHD is not an ailment - it's our genetic makeup, our normality, it has great advantages which can be difficult to find and to use in today's world, but once we have found a place for success we soar, and so do those around us. ADHD benefits humanity, and cows, embrace and celebrate it.

I agree with you. It's nice to hear someone else's struggles with ADHD. I was finally diagnosed with it when I was 34 yrs old. Also, I am slightly dyslexic. Once I went on medication it really helped me function in todays world. Now I am almost 65 and 7 yrs ago I went into heart failure. I can no longer use drugs to help my ADD, no longer hyper, so life kind of sucks. Like Greame said I'm a very messy person, but I don't like a mess, but my get up and go got up and went, and I hate cleaning. 🇨🇦

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was young and man it really can be a super power and downfall. I find that it can make us (not all) good teachers! Once we find a topic we love (like hoof trimming) we can talk about it all day and dont get tired of explaining the process. I used to be a dog trainer and always got comments on how well I explained things for my students. Which was very nice to hear.

You were able to catch it early, so he has great opportunities to do a lot better than a lot of us that weren’t diagnosed until we were well into adulthood. I had to deal with job and financial insecurity for many years, and I didn’t know why I was struggling so bad. I asked many times about getting evaluated for ADHD over the course of nearly 30 years and got shot down every time until someone finally listened to me. I was 44. I will never recover because people who SHOULD have listened ignored the cries of someone who was suffering and in anguish. Your grandson is fortunate to be spared that fate. Consider yourself lucky.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 8. My parents didn’t want me to be medicated, and the Dr. had my parents give me a cup of coffee before school in the morning and another caffeinated beverage after school. That helped greatly. Now at 45 I have good and bad days with ADHD. Routine is also key to controlling the good days. I find my days that aren’t planned out are the bad days, starting multiple projects throughout the day and eventually getting many of them completed. Although some projects get the long term completion time. The messes and hating them is absolutely spot on, along with the large groups. I love going out and doing things but hate crowds.

I felt that ADHD struggle, it's honestly always so good when I learn the people I watch on youtube are sharing those experiences and managing to do something really fun, really educational, or really community building. It's definitely uplifting. i got dx'd with severe adhd when i was 25/26. The constant contradiction of symptoms is wild. Getting meds improved my life drastically, but medication shortages in the UK have hecked that 'stability' up. Needing a routine, but needing freedom. Leaving early but still being late. So much knowledge of random things, but the struggle to remember what day it is QWQ Keep doing what your doing, may it always bring you interest and joy.

I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia when I was 34 yrs old. Got on some medications that really helped me. I had also taught myself different ways to learn or handle day to day life. I even went back to college when I was 42 yrs old, and did extremely well. Unfortunately 8 years ago my husband passed away and a year later I went into heart failure. I can no longer take some of the medications for ADHD so life has been turned upside down. I am not looking forward to those so called golden years which are approaching rather quickly. I will be 65 next year. Enough about me. That heifer's foot was ugly when she went into the crush, we call it a squeeze, but came out looking pretty good. You could still see that her tendon was still slightly stretched but it was a major improvement from before. With time it should correct itself completely. Excellent job on her hoof Greame. Adhd brains typically crave constant stimulation, yet get easily overwhelmed, so it doesn't matter if you're extroverted or introverted; if you hit the limits of how much stimuli you can take, and if you're not given the time and space to decompress, your brain will just start shutting down. at the same time, it might be hard to realize that you've hit your limits until it's too late 😅 When that happens to me, i start to struggle to verbalize, get frustrated and might lash out with aggression The switch can be either gradual or very sudden and unexpected With adhd you're often hyper-aware of things like every sound, every smell, every visual stimulus, and your brain is receiving constant informations from all different fronts at the same time, and adding to that your thoughts are constantly running wild too, so oftentimes it doesn't have that much to do with the socializing itself; just the inability of the brain to filter out the unnecessary stuff But you might also hyperfocus on something to the point everything else stops existing, and such prolonged focus also exhausts the brain, and also your body cause you forget to take care of it Tbf it's different with each person and how their type of adhd affects them

That happens with girls a lot. People always associate these kind of neurodivergencies with boys so girls go undiagnosed. With boys, it tends to get better with age (happened to my fiance). With girls, it gets worse, as I’ve learned myself. Meds help me the best. I’m so easily distracted. I’m the stereotypical “I have attention deficit- SQUIRREL!”

I feel your pain with the ADHD. I'm the same way. That's why I work in the Emergency Room. Always new; but routines are the same. Hurry up and wait. Always something to learn. Task oriented. Multi-tasking is my best skill set. I can be on the phone with a patient, be doing orders in the computer, and listening to a doc give instructions all at the same time. Totally a gift in my line of work.

It's your little inner child that you yourself need to nurture and keep happy, no one truly understands ADHD people like others who have ADHD. Graeme, I was in my 50’s when I got my ADD diagnosis. I guess my family physician noticed that my thoughts were like a pinball, bouncing from one thing to another. She asked me, “When you start a project or chore; do you finish it?” I gave her one of those, “Your kidding me…right?” looks. She prescribed Adderall, and my world literally changed for the better. I made great grades in school, especially in college, pursuing my degree. All through school, I read and reread texts to really grasp it. I succeeded, but it took so much time. ADD and ADHD get a bad rap. It’s real, and not all in my head; please pardon the corny segue! LOL!!!

I'm only 20 seconds into the video, but I'm NGL when you showed that cow's foot my first concern was she might have toe necrosis. Now to watch the whole thing and see if I was wrong. Edit: 21:37 What a MASSIVE improvement for that girl. And I'm so glad I was wrong, even though I heard Graeme voice the same concern before lifting her in the crush to work on her feet. Im glad you mentioned your adhd. I too have adhd and was medicated for it through school. I eventually found that alcohol worked great for treatment of adhd but became a severe alcoholic and im now 2.5 years sober. By far the best thing for people with adhd is a job that has you work with your hands and can always be improved apon. I was a full time glass pipe maker for 13 years and i still do it as a side job

I'm 65 and was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago. WOW. Suddenly, my world makes sense (in a way). And I can confirm every statement you make about your own experience with ADHD, Graeme, so thank you for sharing so much of yourself. And yes, I find hoof trimming fascinating, although I live in a suburb and only see cows when I drive out to Wisconsin.

With ADHD my daughter was still able to become a registered nurse and is continuing her education married with a 10 month old daughter is a lot to handle for anyone but like I said hoof GP she was able to achieve her goals. Although she took a 4 years of college by and finished after 2 years. Love your channel even though my wife is like gross Dave what are you watching. I said “ it’s something I didn’t know about so I wanted to learn! “ I’m 61 was fully disabled 6 months into 2 new careers in my thirties as a first responder. Now I collect knives and if you got an old one, hoof knife could you send me one I’ll pay shipping and price. I’m setting up some of my friends in the knife community. I started by looking up hoof knives but blocked out hoof knives, and already they are curious. I’ve said I got it from a prince should be here anytime now. Nobody has figured out what I’m up too! Hahahahaha 😂😂

I have been following you for a while now. Somehow, your adhd doesn't surprise me. I am late diagnosed autistic myself and find that, in general, communicating with people with similar neurodivergence is easier. This goes as far as that it is often more relaxing to watch video's made by neurodivergent people. It still takes great courage to speak openly about it online. Respect!

I am 66 years old and was diagnosed as hyperactive when I was 8, now known as adhd. Both of my children are adhd too, my son has a severe case and my daughter’s is not quite as bad. We are quite the group and it takes special people to love us. I am no longer allowed to take medication and that makes things difficult but I do try my best, although I get off course quite easily. Lol. There are plenty of us out here and we understand the daily struggles. A job with lots of variety has been very important and keeps my interest just as your’s does for you. I am glad that you found something that works for you. I find what you do to be fascinating.

This made me cry for the difference you made in the heffer that had such overgrown toes and over flexing her tendon. What a fantastic job you did. One of the things I love about this channel is you don't do things to make them look pretty you do things to make sure the cow heals correctly and properly whether the trim looks nice or not
