First up we've got "Lord Frightening", our version of Paul Walker's red truck from The Fast and The Furious 1. As car nerds we loved Paul Walker's red truck from the movie so much that we built a dream version: Toyota 2jz engine swap Ford F150, single Garrett G-Series Turbo turbo, and other stuff we had lying around to beef up our bone stock single turbo 2JZ. This is the truck Paul Walker / Brian O'Connor would have built.
Vs. the F-150 Lightning, we've got a beautiful 2nd Gen Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - the improved Paul Walked Eclipse from Fast and Furious built by ‪@throtl‬ - it's a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-X with a 4g63 engine, FP Red Turbo, 31PSI of boost, BC272 Cams, running Sunoco E85R fuel. Unlike the movie car this is a 4g63 swap car - the F&F car was a 420A front wheel drive car - this is a proper 4wd 4g car, complete with double NOS nitrous oxide buttons.

@@TheHoonigans looks like a mustang dyno so definitely needs rounding up because they're known for not being accurate. Find a hub dyno if all you're doing is chasing hp levels because hub dyno is accurate.

@@edwardmolloy7548 it's honestly not enough difference to worry about. PLUS the difference between the cars will be the same on the same dyno. A huh dyno just gets more CLEAR data. Not more accurate. A hub dyno assumes that there will be perfect traction at all times.

I had a 96 GSX way back in the day decades ago. This thing reminded me of my car so much! I started bone stock & went the bolt on route at first. A 16g upgrade, slightly bigger injectors, small eBay fmic, greddy type s, hks cams & gear drop ins, and a basic intake & hks exhaust. Good for a little over 380 to the wheels before it wasn't enough... it never is with DSMs. I wanted more power but needed drivetrain upgrades to handle it first so upgraded half(s) & drive shaft, dog box trans, upgraded suspension, and some brembo big boys to stop it all. Before I parted it out I had a Garrett T76, hks 272s, hks gears, hks ssqv, 44/45 external wastegate, 1200ccs, double walboro 255s, sheepey front mount, JE forged pistons, eagle rods... I can't remember the whole build to be honest this was wayyyy back in the early 2000s and I sold it to get an Evo 8 which I also sold because California freaking sucks and refs any & all tuners and after I got out the military and moved to an apartment keeping an entire stock 4G motor & stock parts was not possible. I miss those days for sure but now that smog also detects any non stock ecu/tune I think I got out the game at the right time. I miss those days Edit: I was just thinking about it and I remember that car had the nastiest case of turbo lag until almost 5,000rpm then it could break the freaking tires loose! I definitely clapped that talon awd out before selling it. None of those miles were gentle 😂 I was doing clutch dumps at every freeway on ramp like every young dumb kid.

A 2G DSM GSX will always be my favorite car of all time! I’ve owned a couple that ranged from stock all the way to 6**HP 6 to the wheels monster! I did the 6 bolt swap even though I never experienced any 7 bolt “crank walk”. I know that these cars have the potential to break a lot but I would still pick it as my favorite!
